The original pick up was at the Bolingbrook location, but that was canceled because the truck was double booked. this cost me time with my movers and bumped my schedule back 2.5 hours. I don't understand how the truck was double booked but the woman that rebooked was very helpful and got me another truck in Romeoville. at the Romeoville store, the store was opened late because one employee didn't show up. Then the woman helping me had trouble checking me in with the process took about 20 -25 minutes. The entire experience was terrible, i don't plan to us uhaul again and would like to be compensated for the lost time with the movers.

My truck barely started when I picked up & no other trucks were available. My battery died at a storage facility. My friend jumped started the truck and I called roadside assistance for a new battery. It was over a 2 hour wait, & I was paying (4) mover helpers

I think the check-in process should be a little better. When we got there to pick up a reservation for our 10 o’clock truck, they didn’t even have it ready. They were cleaning it and checking it in so we were there almost 40 minutes before we got the vehicle. We reserved it for 10. I feel like it should be ready at 10.

The whole story, please review your records...My original reservation was in Bolingbrook. On arrival, the paperwork was filled out. I paid the invoice by credit card, and the trailer could not be located. I was told it was stolen. The manager found this one in Romeoville...I drove several miles to pick it up. In Bolingbrook, the manager indicated I would get a $50.00 rebate and all I needed to do was pick-up the trailer. WRONG...the paperwork needed to be redone at a $2.00 increase...I hope I will not be double billed and the $50.00 is rebated to me. Both managers did well, I am just a victim of the circumstances surrounding the rental. Suggest the Romeoville manager learn to cross the safety chains. I believe this is considered best practice.

This one guy working there is an asshole who doesn’t want to be there. Can’t even ask a question, and did not want to explain anything. He hooked up wrong trailer, and when I asked about it he yelled back at me “I’ll fucking change it”

Instead of charging someone $25 for bringing back a piece of equipment exactly the same as it was taken, maybe insure the equipment is clean before you rent it out. I moved a 3 wheel surrey bike that was garage kept for 10 years. The caked mud between the ridges was there when I took it.

Please Make sure your vehicles are properly serviced before renting them out. We were given a truck with no air conditioning in 95 degree weather. The company did compensate us for the inconvenience but it was a very uncomfortable experience.

Alonzo is always there early and on time every Saturday morning when I pick up at 7:00. Is very professional. And always working hard. At romeoville Illinois location. I believe his name was Alonzo. I rent a motorcycle trailer almost every weekend because I have many motorcycles and buy and sell them. And he is always very professional and early and working very very hard. Excellent employee

I would recommend having the equipment pulled up front for the customer vs having the customer pull the equipment out especially when the equipments are parked so close together. Use the same process as returning the equipment but for pick up.

Had to wait 30 minutes (which cut into my 6 hour reservation) to get my rental truck but that was due to understaffing. The gentleman working was working very hard to get everyone situated and worked great under pressure. Even tho I could’ve used the extra 30 min I lost, the truck was very clean and I was very happy with the customer service.

I was not happy I was charged an extra month and late fee because one employee incompetence she forgot to check the storage and cancel my account after I checked out and told her to cancel my storage unit after I returned my uhaul truck and stated I was done with the storage unit. I was charged a full month and late fee when I checked out on May 2 way before the 5th payment due date. I had to drive and waste gasoline money to come tell them in person because they would not pick up the phone. I called the 800 number and got a hold of someone who called them and left a message to call me to resolve my problem and still they did not call me back. It was an inconvenience to come to the facility to resolve this issue. I will not be using this facility again. There was trash around my storage unit all the time my stuff was there they never sweep the floor and have loud music in the office making the place ghetto.

The passenger mirror was broken. It was moving all over from side to side. We noticed it before we left the parking lot and the guy came out to try and fix it. 40 minutes later he was finally able to put a new one on (a driver mirror) but seemed to work ok. They weren’t very accommodating as in trying to find us another 20’ truck if we needed to swap it out. I feel like this should had been checked out before they were ready to rent this truck out, poor customer service

I rented a 10ft truck and drove it about 15 miles before returning it. I put two gallons of gas in it before returning it, but they still charged me for 2 more gallons of gas. The fuel gage and reading in the app were not 100% accurate when I picked it up, but they sure expected it to be accurate when I returned it. You ripped me off $9.

We needed to move in Sat and the ONLY elevator in the building went out of service on Friday. As of Sat evening no service person had been on site. We were told to call before we showed up Monday. That didn’t help as we had to leave town Sun. We carried everything up to the 3rd floor. We’re in our 60’s. This was not good.

The store and the people were good. The problem is this is NOT the location I confirmed in my rental reservation. It was 40 minutes from my house, and the on I confirmed was 5 minutes from my house. Oh, and the trailer I wanted appeared to be there! I must have passed at least 5 uhaul locations much closer. You should have transported the equipment to the correct location, not force me to drive 40 minutes one way to get it. You had plenty of time! To be clear, this is not the fault of the people or facilities at the location I was forced to use.

I was told to pick up the vehicle 30 minutes away from where I live instead of picking it up at a uhaul place just 10 minutes away then 1 drop off my vehicle with the right amount of gas as it was when I picked it up and still got charged for gas WTF

I made a reservation online using the app for a move-in date of 4/6. When I arrived on 4/6 with all of my stuff the guy could not find my reservation....not with my name, my reservation number or my phone number. Weird huh? It looks like maybe the reservation means nothing and they just book over confirmed units. The person who helped me on Saturday 4/6 was rude and not helpful. He just told me I need to speak to the manager Jessica. I spoke to her today but no discount or free month was offered (I already had a free month coupon I brought with me to use). Then, when I got to my unit I noticed it is WAY too small. The 5x10x8 DEFINATELY will not fit a 1-2 bedroom house - lol! So now, I have to get a bigger unit, pay more money, and move all of my things into the new unit. What a waste of time and effort. I am very not pleased with Uhual of Romeoville.

The facility was good, the system wasn't. I had an auto pay for the storage, Before travelling I stopoed by to make sure the draw was going to take place, I was assured of it. Coming back from my trip I had my messages of late payment. Nevertheless I paid through the app, including the late fees. Sunday I went to close the storage, I talked to the clerk about the closing process. I went to the locker, they had a red lock on it, I had to go back to the office to ask them to remove. My questions are: 1) why the lick wasn't removed after I paid. 2) when I talked to the clerk, how come she didn't see that the lock was there and offered to remove it. 3) If I had cut the lick was I going to be charged?

Too much not understanding the SOP for uhaul, Was sold a unit that was already being used, had to wait 2 day before I could put anything in it, also no carts to help with very heavy boxes. That was the worst. But the girls at the desk did a great job.

Office was super helpful but Uhaul policy is not fair and punishes early move outs. I will not use Uhaul storage again. I will use a storage facility that prorates it’s fees.

When exiting my storage space I needed 3 additional days past my billing cycle to occupy the space before my move. Unfortunately I came to find out that Uhaul will not prorate you storage space but they will charge another month of rent no exceptions. When speaking with the manager her response was it was company policy there was nothing she could do. I paid the additional month’s rent but This caused uhaul to lose my business when needing to rent a long term storage space after moving into my new home.

Units do not have alarms which is why I moved out. I paid for an armed unit and got ripped off for 3 months. The door sensor is installed but not wired up to anything. I told the store manager this when I first noticed it and nothing was done. She told me the units don't have to be individually alarmed because they have cameras. No need to ever use the key card to go in or out of the facility because one, the cards don't arm or unarm anything because the sensor is not hooked up, and two, the front gate is always open. I also told my concern about the front gate to the store manager and nothing was done about this either. I rented a truck for 7 am and no one showed up to open the store until almost 7:30. Then, the truck had ABSOLUTLY NO gas in it. I had to put gas in it before I could even drive it anywhere. I opened a ticket with customer service 2 months ago about these issues and nothing was done so I moved out. I wont be using U-Haul anymore.

The unit I reserved with customer service was a 5x9. When I got to the facility they didn't have that size available so now we have to pay more. I would think your systems would communicate more accurately.

Uhaul corporate must audit this uhaul franchise in Romeoville. It's a disgrace to your business. I have 2 storage to this facility but I decided to transfer after a month of poor service. Their office always lock even in business hours. You need to call and wait for 10min before the manager opens the door. The guy who cleans the storage is so rude yelling at the customer. He also cover up the manager every time you wait for the door to open. The store also opens late. It's good thing that's there 4 more storage place around the area so we can easily escape to this poor managed storage I'm also putting up a review on yelp to save customer from this storage.
