Uhual continues to wrongfully charge my debit card. This happened to me last Saturday they charged me $123 but I only owed $48 I called in showed proof to customer service then uhual fixed it. Now this past Wednesday I am charged an extra $62 on top of what I paid and it doesn't say why. I don't think it's right for them to be able to constantly make these inaccurate charges on my account. I'm currently waiting on customer service to call me back once again today. I'm so sad. I rent this truck for business purposes but it's starting to make me think I've made the wrong decision to trust them because I go through this to often. I'm sad.Nepheteri P.

Was charged for gas when I brought the vehicle back with more gas in the tank than when I picked it up. Paid $20 at the gas station then charged an extra $25 fee for only driving 18 mi. Ridiculous. I had a photo of the gas gauge from when I picked it up and was told that wasn't good enough. They are scamming customers.Michele Z.

Aside from the vehicle having steering issues it was in decent clean condition. But I feel like I've been overcharged... initially paid about $70 to take the truck out... after I returned it before the 5 hours I was charged two separate transactions one at $48 and one on another $40 why..? additionally I added $40 in gasoline. This made the rental over $200 for under 5 hours something is not right...Angel D.

I returned the truck when the office was closed. The keypad said to press for help. It was a connection to customer service. No one picked up. I called customer service from my phone while in my truck, I was immediately told the wait time would be an hour. 90 minutes. No answer. I tried the U-Haul.com/chat it told me 26 minutes to wait. 75 minutes later no answer. When I first called I got a hold of a representative named ChiChi and explained that I just returned a truck and I need the gate to open to drive home, she transferred me to customer service and stated she is in the sales department. I had my wife with me and we had to Uber home then I took an Uber back when the facility opened up. Worse return ever.Corey B.

I am not happy with how tolls are handled. If the customer has a transponder for tolls they should be allowed to take them in the truck to eliminate any extra fees afterwards, fees which may be questionable. The fees seem to be inflated or more they actually should be.Angel D.

The truck just wasn't clean when I pick it up, dog hair was on the seats and threw out the van. Just a suggestion you might want to move your checkin space around and make more room, so when the customers are standing there it will be more space. For example maybe you can turn the front facing south and back facing north. Just a suggestion over all I like your facility. âï¸âï¸âï¸Tina A.

Rented a motorcycle trailer 1 month prior to needing it. The day I went to get it. I was told that the wiring on the trailer was to short to connect to my truck.. I would have to purchase a 3ft cable extension or I couldn't rent it. So I had to go to autozone waste 40 dollars just to buy something that Uhaul should've had. They did not inspect the trailer prior to my arrival causing unnecessary frustration, wasted time and money!julian F.

There was no wiring harness to connect the trailer to my vehicle. I had to go to auto zone to purchase a 4 prong adapter to circle. Then the wire coming from the trailer didn't even reach the end of the trailer. The location didn't even had a socket set to give more slack to the wire because of the clip holding the wire to the frame so I had to run back over to auto zone to purchase a socket set. Over all it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes from the time i checked in to the time I left the location which is ridiculous.Kevin T.

This time around, I can see the facility took on some upgrades and the employee working was a very pleasant man unlike the last. The person that helped us was awesome. He was able to answer our questions and get us out the door quickly. The truck was clean, but it definitely could have used an air freshener or something. Might be a nice touch to add one after a rental. Driving 20 hours could have been a little fresher.Emmett L.
When exiting my storage space I needed 3 additional days past my billing cycle to occupy the space before my move. Unfortunately I came to find out that Uhaul will not prorate you storage space but they will charge another month of rent no exceptions. When speaking with the manager her response was it was company policy there was nothing she could do. I paid the additional month's rent but This caused uhaul to lose my business when needing to rent a long term storage space after moving into my new home.Marc R. | Overall Experience
Units do not have alarms which is why I moved out. I paid for an armed unit and got ripped off for 3 months. The door sensor is installed but not wired up to anything. I told the store manager this when I first noticed it and nothing was done. She told me the units don't have to be individually alarmed because they have cameras. No need to ever use the key card to go in or out of the facility because one, the cards don't arm or unarm anything because the sensor is not hooked up, and two, the front gate is always open. I also told my concern about the front gate to the store manager and nothing was done about this either. I rented a truck for 7 am and no one showed up to open the store until almost 7:30. Then, the truck had ABSOLUTLY NO gas in it. I had to put gas in it before I could even drive it anywhere. I opened a ticket with customer service 2 months ago about these issues and nothing was done so I moved out. I wont be using U-Haul anymore.Eric J. | Overall Experience

Uhaul corporate must audit this uhaul franchise in Romeoville. It's a disgrace to your business. I have 2 storage to this facility but I decided to transfer after a month of poor service. Their office always lock even in business hours. You need to call and wait for 10min before the manager opens the door. The guy who cleans the storage is so rude yelling at the customer. He also cover up the manager every time you wait for the door to open. The store also opens late. It's good thing that's there 4 more storage place around the area so we can easily escape to this poor managed storage I'm also putting up a review on yelp to save customer from this storage.Joneph P. | Overall Experience

My code never worked, there was hardly ever anyone there when I needed them to fix my code. There was multiple times I could just not access my unit. Also I was told when we first rented that there was rodent control in this facility and that was untrue. 90% percent of my things were destroyed by water and or rodents inside the unit. I lost the key to my uhaul lock which was purchased at U-Haul at this site. The huge employee told me they would not be able to remove the lock for me and I would need to call a locksmith. I already rented a U-Haul truck and was committed to a 100 mile drive and had to wait 4 hours for a locksmith in 100 degree temps to get me into my storage facility because the man at the office refused to help me and said they no longer remove locks. Turned out to be a miserable 100 degree day. I would never rent from U-Haul again after this. Wasted over 1 hour trying to access & locate the actual storage unit. When asked for assistance the guy working the desk became upset with me when I asked him for help. The customer service is extremely poor at this location & it gets worse when you ask for help. They act like it's a huge burden for them to actually get off their chair to come & help. Instead they get angry with you & you get an attitude instead of help. I'm specifically referring to the young fellow who was working at the desk. It seemed like he was new cause the lady it seemed was training him when we arrived but she wasn't there at the time I asked for help. I don't appreciate getting yelled at for asking for help especially as I'm a paying customer & by the way I don't have a photographic memory. You know the process since you work there & I'm a new customer there & so this was totally unprofessional the way your staff member guy treated us. I'm being kind by rating you 2 stars because I really want to rate you 0 stars. We've rented several trucks and two storage units from this location. Pretty much every time we came to our unit, we'd have to go into the office as our gate entry code would stop working. Even if we visited multiple times per weekend, it didn't seem to matter. The staff did their best to help but this was very frustrating. The last few truck rentals we had were also a challenge. We arrived for our reservation but the office was empty and no one was answering the phone. We waited 30 minutes before someone was finally able to assist us. We cleaned out our storage unit on 2/2, but I was still sent a bill with a late fee on 2/22. We had informed the office three separate times that our unit had been cleared, well before the next payment was due. I had to spend another half hour on the phone with customer service trying to resolve the situation. They left me a vague voicemail about my unit (during a day with high winds) which made me believe my unit got damaged, my husband and i spent all our time calling them while at work, and on the drive to the unit. All of my boxes were wet/damp and falling apart when I moved out. We only had our stuff in there for 3 months. Anything fabric has a mildew smell and I had to remove mold from several pieces of furniture. I would hate to have lost everything if I had to keep it in there longer. Not sure this is normal or not for storage. But it did add extra hassle, work, time and money onto our move that I wasn't expecting.
