My boyfriend dropped off the truck before I even made it to the location. The gentleman helping him made it super easy to return even though the truck was under my name and I was not present. By the time I arrived, there was very little I had to do.

I have used the Richardson uhail many times in the past. When I arrived, the young lady was very friendly and helpful. However, it seems to be more “self serve”. I was given the key and told that the trucks were located on the side of the building so I had to locate the truck. In the past, the truck was in the front and someone went over any questions with me and “checked” the truck out. When I went to the side of the building, the trucks were so closely parked together that I had to walk sideways to get in and then try to slowly back out to not hit the truck on either side and the one parked perpendicular behind me. I work in the service industry so this was surprising to me. The truck itself was very clean and was perfect for my move. Thank you

I was very happy overall. The only issue I had was the rental of the dolly. I made my reservation online but when I went to pick up the van I rented, a regular dolly was not available so I was given a commercial dolly. The regular dolly is $7 and the commercial dolly is $10. I don't think I should have been charged $10 since I wanted a regular dolly but one was not available. Also, I don't like that the charge for mileage is so high.

Justin is great at customer service. Even though your Richardson location is so busy that they will give away your Uhaul, while you are standing in line, if you are 15 minutes late; when you finally get a truck, (hours later), and return it Justin redeems the customer experience by going above and beyond in getting us whatever he can.

I went to pick up my van. Based on comments in the computer, the associate at the counter messaged someone on her walker talkie and said she needed to go inspect the van before she gave it to me. The person she called told her to, “go ahead and rent it.” (I heard the conversation) I asked her several times what was wrong with the van. She told me to “go do an inspection of the van myself.” She was the only associate In the store and there were other customers waiting and no one would relieve her to inspect it. I took pictures of the outside damages and cautiously left the store. Within a few mins of leaving the passenger side mirror had changed positions and was pointing straight up at the sky. I attempted to adjust it for several minutes while driving on the highway to my destination. I eventually had to pull over and push it down manually.. I had to turn left into a parking lot because I was unable to see anything on the passenger side. Within a few mins the mirror had moved itself back to the upward facing position. Someone followed me back in a car and was able to tell me it was safe to change lanes. (On a cell phone) This was such an unsafe situation to put me in. I have used Uhaul for many years and I his experience was the worst. I also ordered moving blankets which they were out of. My online order originally request a dolly which I told her at the time of pickup that I would not be needing. She said, “there’s no dolly in there.” When I returned the van she accused me of “not wanting to wait for the van to be inspected.” I asked several times what was wrong with the van and she refused to tell me. Lying and misleading a customer is unacceptable!!!

Employees made me feel unwelcome, they were dealing with a storm and backup power so I get being frustrated but I'm just trying to get the stuff I paid $2000 for and both times I walked in it seemed like I was a nuisance. Otherwise, standard service times, decent equipment condition.

Not a beef with the location so much as with U-Haul. Charged an extra $50 (an extra 40%) because I went a few extra miles getting stuff out of storage. Nowhere was this highlighted in the rental agreement. Will use Budget Trucks in the future because they have unlimited mileage for a one-way rental.

Pickup and dropoff are a complete pain. The staff here is very lazy. Takes 30 minutes to load and 30 to drop. Management needs a change.

When I arrived back to return the truck the same day, my phone died. The gentleman at the counter went to his car and got HIS charger and portable brick for me to charge my phone so I could gt an Uber. This is the kind of customer service that impresses me no end, and, really, just being a person. I am 59, this gentleman about my age or older. The other woman at the counter equally impressive in dealing with clients on the phone and in person as I was there A WHILE to charge. Greatness!

We were hauling our 67 ElCamino to my nephews senior year car show in McPhearson KS. Between Denton and Sanger TX the car hauler has a blow out on the front passenger side. When we finally got through to roadside assistance, we were told someone would be there in 30 minutes to change the tire. We had pulled off onto the service road of I 35. 45 to 50 minutes later, roadside showed up to change the tire and we proceeded to KS. We could only go 55 per the sign in the car hauler and that’s what we continued to do. What would normally be a 6 to 7 hour trip turned into us arriving in Kansas 23 hours later, missing the first car show of the weekend. As we loaded up Sunday morning to head back to Dallas, my nephew showed us where they had plugged a tire (the exact one that roadside replaced after the first blowout. That is correct, the first blowout. In our way home we continued at the speed of 55. We were almost to Denton on I 35 when we noticed the car was tilting so we pulled off onto the service road across the highway directly across from where we had stopped after the the first blow out. We had not seen any smoke or tire rubber flying like we did on the trip up to KS. Yet the tire was gone. The same one that roadside had replace in our way there. So once again, we waited for almost an hour for roadside to show up and put a tire on. This time they put a new tire in there and the very helpful gentleman told us that this was his 5th tire change of the day for U-Haul. My husband took the car hauler back early the next morning as scheduled. I asked him to at least get a partial refund if not the entire refund. They did not give us a credit of any kind and all they could say, with an attitude, is so sorry for the inconvenience.

Rented a 1 way 10ft box truck from Dallas to Austin. - First, I get a call a day prior saying, the location I chose does not have a truck (as the website indicated upon placing the order) I now must drive another 10 miles for pick-up. There was a reason I picked the 'availability' location online, due to the logistics of my day. Strike One. - upon check-out the guy was a bit impersonal and spitting sunflower hulls in the trash can at 9:am made me want to puke. But hey, it's Uhaul. Fitting. - The truck: unbeknownst to me during check-out inspection: the truck had a headlight out and busted windshield wiper I had to zip-tie to use it. Plus, the battery was slow to crank. I told the kid upon check-in, but he didn't much care.. I can assure you, if Uhaul were to check the maintenance records on this truck since I returned it, there wasn't anything done to it. It was just parked and other trucks were stacked in front of it. Somehow, this truck made the trip but feared the next chug hole on I-35 was going to shatter this loud bucket-of-bolts. On my trip, I witnessed a small open Uhaul trailer on the side of I-35 with the wheel and axle in the grass. The Renter standing there with his head in his hand on the phone mentally exhausted. - I returned the truck a full day early and was told I don't get a refund. I'd say consistent vehicle maintenance is the most important item that Uhaul needs to correct. Secondly, fix your website with regard to available inventory.

We originally booked to rent a truck at Doc's food store. The pickup location was at Arapaho and Custer. We arrived at 11 am and nobody was there. The location was supposed to open at 10. I had to call Uhaul and move to the location on N. Central. While this location has no fault for that, the original location needs to do a better of job. We wasted time and had to pay by the mile to rent the truck so incurred more expense.

I will not be returning to this location or referring to a friend. I was given keys to a truck that was nowhere on the lot. I searched for it with hired help, told they could not offer me another truck, then about 15 minutes later, they gave me one, without the dolly I requested. I called the same day to cancel my storage unit. The woman that answered told me not to worry, I wouldn't be charged. A month later I received an email to pay my storage bill. I called the 800 number to cancel and was assured it was done on their end and should be completed locally. Just received a late notice from local location. Had to call again. I was placed on hold a couple of times while the lady that Shana tried to figure it out. She said there was a file about me. Finally, she told me everything was taken care of. I asked for some sort of confirmation to be emailed to me. There was nothing to send to me. I'm just hoping I don't have to make another call next month.

The access hours are supposed to be until 10 PM but when we got there at 7pm we were told by Avery that she needs to KICK US OUT as soon as they are ready to leave. This was because the “doors weren’t working” even though we got in by checking in at the gate and doors opened for us with no issues. Here is how this could have been a better experience: 1) add a note on your website under the store if there are issues. What if I had movers with me? 2) Identify the training gaps and train your employees. You should add how to phrase what you say to customers in your training curriculum. What matters is how you say it not what you say. Your other south austin location is even WORSE.

My storage unit suffered not one but two leaks due to an air conditioning unit that leaked on my stored goods. On site personnel should have moved my goods to a unit that was out of harms way but that didn't happen. While I was reimbursed partially for the damaged goods, more could have been done. I will not be using UHAUL in the future and would not recommend them to any friends or family.

The staff is completely incompetent. No idea which units have been rented. I arrived with a 15 foot truck and a storage reservation. They did not have a storage unit for me and proceeded to send me to 4 other locations that were all closed on sundays. I went over on gas, miles, and time because they were incapable of providing a storage unit. I had to take time off work to unload my truck 20 miles north the following week.

I arrived with the 15 foot truck to unload into my reserved storage unit on sunday afternoon to find out my unit had been rented to another customer. The employees were unorganized and unprofessional. They sent me to 3 other locations through out the Dallas metro that were all closed on sundays. They refused to accept responsibility for causing me to go over on gas, miles, and truck rental time. I was forced to take time off work on monday to move into a storage unit that was far from the original location. The staff at the Richardson location was more than awesome in helping me find the right size storage unit and made everything simple and seamless to get moved in. The facility is extremely clean and even smells good. The climate controlled units were are kept at a comfortable temperature which was once on a hot day. Can't say enough good things about these guys. Thanks again, -Jason

If you have 24 hour access guests I think it would be great not to block the only door to get access in the building at that time. It was very inconvenient.

The first girl to come help said she needed to cut the lock off my unit. She walked away to get the tools to cut the lock and she never came back! After waiting 15-20 minutes, I finally went and found someone else who did cut the lock off and get me in. On another note, why in the WORLD would you have a split unit storage system where the larger units are up a staircase?!?! It stands to reason that anyone using the larger units probably has furniture and now we have to carry that furniture up some stairs. This is about the dumbest thing in storage facilities I’ve ever encountered. We won’t be using this facility again for that reason alone.

There was no instructions on the email that said i had to receive some sort of card to move in. Because i did the online move in, the email said my storage room was ready to access and all i had to do was enter the building which is not the case. as soon as i opened my storage room, the alarm went off because i had no card to swipe. Instructions were unclear and everything was confusing. I will not be using UHaul storage ever again.

My belongings were infested with roaches and now i have to deal with roaches at my new residence the staff was friendly and helpful so i cant say anything bad about them but there is clearly a bug problem that needs be addressed perhaps spray more or leave baits to draw them away from the units.. the company could also look into making the units impenetrable to insects

We specifically requested 24 hour access as we needed to put in all of our stuff past office hours. When we got to the facility, the storage room which we paid for was locked and we will we’re given no keys, we had already loaded our U-Haul van with our furniture. Also, the customer care was not helpful as no one picked up. Very bad experience here.

Extremely slow. Waited in line to be served for over 20 minutes. Storage space 10x8 hall so narrow and too close to other units couldn't get furniture in. Had to cancel the order space.

We were asked to repeat sensitive information no less than 3 times. We didn't get the impression that our business and especially our time mattered. Employees weren't urgent and lacked the knowledge needed to serve us the way we needed to be served. There were about 4 people who needed to service us. We arrived a few minutes after 5pm on a Friday and left close to 8.pm The only thing we needed to do was return our truck, get a storage unit, and move the things out of our truck into our unit. If needing U-haul services and products in the future, this will not be the location we seek said services and products. My name isn't even spelled correctly for this account even though my wife and I were asked our names and other sensitive information several times while trying to secure a storage room.
