The van I was given had a problem with the electrical system. Typically a car's electrical system should be at about 14 volts while the engine is running, the GMC Savana I was loaden would jump up to about 16 volts when the engine was first turned on, and then after a period of a couple minutes drop down to around 12 volts, and then oscilate back and forth between 12 volts and 14 volts. When it is at 12 volts, it is quite likely it is running in whole or in part off the battery. As a result of what is likely a failing alternator, I could have been stranded. I was able to exchange it for a Ford Transit, but was given no way to throughly describe the issue, other than to a clerk who had no idea how cars work and couldnt understand this issue. Quite likely this van will be loaned out again, until the alternator fails completely.

He looked at it for a moment, then handed it back to me and stormed off, screaming "I don't know where they think I'm supposed to park all these fucking trucks!" - I was then left to check my own truck in.
Ty J.I've rented probably 6 vehicles from the Cicero Ave location over the past couple months, two of which had dangerous levels of damage. The 15' box truck I rented several weeks ago had been in an accident and suffered damage to its steering system to such a degree that I would have to turn the wheel about 30 degrees to the right to have it go straight. The most recent cargo van I rented had a broken windshield which had one of your pre-existing damage stickers on it. This is illegal and if I got pulled over by a cop, I would have gotten a ticket due to your staff's incompetence. When I returned the van and notified the staff, they didnt care at all and said this was normal. What the fuck is wrong with you people? Do you know why broken windshields are illegal? Because if something else hits the window, like a rock kicked up from a semi-truck, the wind shield will shatter and spray me and the other occupant with thousands of tiny glass shards, which in turn could cause me to get in to an accident. What the fuck is the point of these damage waivers or you billing customers for damage, when you refuse to fix it even when it could result in serious bodily injury. What the absolute fuck is wrong with you people.

I also had to switch my reservation because your reservation site let me do a "truck share" rental at a location that also can't accommodate after-hours rental.

Moving is stressfull enough. It's nice when companies in the business can uphold the highest customer service and that's from the moment a customer walks in.

Hiram N.Your app never works. 1) I still had to go to the desk and have one of your employees do everything I just did on the app (drivers licenses, etc) ehrn rrenting the truck 2) When returning the truck,your app just keeps asking me to take pictures of the odometer and gas, but won;t move on the next screens, just keeps asking for another photo. 12 should be enough. This is NOT user-error or phone issues - this is a different galaxy phone from the last time I used the app (a year ago), and I have no issues with technology.

KAMIL R.I purchased a storage unit, the initial employee who set up my account was AMAZING! I was on auto pay-had the storage paid successfully until March 2022 which is when I decided I will take out my belongings. I spoke to a woman who removed me off auto payment, she understood that I was closing my account, she advised me to come in get my things and we can take care of payment. I still had a few questions so I called two days after my billing date, a gentlemen I spoke with was so rude to me, he ends up arguing with me about billing. I reiterated that the money didn't matter, I'm trying to understand how the process works for closing a storage unit---he still wants to argue with about the MONEY?!?! I was a good standing patient on AUTO PAY! My point is treating me less than a great customer is unacceptable especially in customer service. After our call I was charged for the Unit and a late fee after (conversations recorded correct?) I specially asked to settle my bill upon my arrival because i was still confused regarding the process of closing a unit. Which was never answered!!! BTW The audacity! Also, that same day I was also locked out of my storage that same day-this isn't over.

Jose O.2nd time i rented from here and both times issues with computers, but each time was well helped by the employee behind the desk. I didn't get the woman's name this time, but we had reserved a van, we got there but she said all computers were down so couldn't really help. Then proceeded to let us know we could move the reservation to mobile pickup. As I was doing that, she got on the phone with someone at UHAUL, who was able to finish my reservation/pickup from wherever she was. Great workaround and help from someone who was not super enthused that the computer system was down.

Tried calling multiple times at different times and calls were unanswered, eventually bounced to call center in AZ, where staff referred us back to facility, which we could not contact other than showing up in person. This was difficult as we were out of town, and was a frustrating experience. Other than that, the facility met our needs.

I would also recommend better signage on truck returns we ended up going to the wrong side to return the truck and had to go all the way around to bring it in the right side. When I was returning the storage unit another family did the same thing so I'm sure it's an on going issue

I But when I got there I was told it was on the 2' ND floor and would have to c arry my boxes and bins up one flight,across a tier,down the stairs,up a flight of stairs and down another tier ! I had to go to another facility who accommodate d me professional y and without a problem. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and with the Illinois attorney general office for fraud not to mention the appropriate socal media not to use your corporation for anything what's so ever

I have an upstairs unit and the ramp up is impossible. Spent over an hour trying to get my UHaul and trailer back down off of it. I had to use the restroom in the facility and someone was there listening to music, sounded like a party. It was overall just way too much for me.

Once I was assisted during checkout the employee was so rushed that he couldn't process my transaction properly. He offered no information on how to access my unit. I attempted to access on my own immediately after being checked out and I was unable to access any of the doors. I returned to ask why and found out he never processed the transaction. I then had to wait again for the single employee to come back from 'hooking up a trailer' which was partly true, the smoke break being the other.. Then this employee was unable to read credit card numbers on his own, I had to repeat phone numbers and card numbers repeatedly over 10 mins for him to finally be able to actually process the purchase of the unit. I then had to ask him multiple questions on how to access, where the unit was located, etc. as he offered no detail proactively.

She had told me that the space I finally settled on only had four steps leading to the space, when it was actually 4 flights of stairs making it totally impossible for me to get my items to the space since there aren't any elevators. Seems to me she needs to understand the layout of the facility a bit more, Info was deceptive and I left very dissatisfied.

(I was extremely thirsty after moving everything into the facility on a warm, humid day.) My only suggestion for the facility would be to put in a little ramp of concrete to cover the big bump at the threshold between the parking lot and the indoor storage facility. There's a big bump whether you go through the large garage door or through the small door next to it. This makes it difficult to push a fully loaded cart over that bump and into the building. Otherwise, it was a smooth experience!
