The lines to check in were extremely long. I did the online check in but wasn't allowed to hook onto the trailer myself which is an inefficient approach.Roger L.
The check in time took a little while, but that was because the poor man was there by himself and was literally running to get trailers, check in trucks and take care of each customer. I was unable to call the location to check and see if they were finished because they didn't call me back. No one ever answered the phone and I had to speak with the corporate people three times. The registration time was different online and it was on the app I asked that they roll up my window if it was going to sit outside at night no one did that no one put the hitch on that I had requested in the communication was awful. I'm very disappointed in U-Haul and no it's a big company and you guys can do better than that.carrie H.

The staff is not well educated on Uhaul products or the Uhaul computer system in order to expedite a transaction accurately, or timely. I had called to extend the time on the truck rental and was told I could return the truck by the next day at 8a, however, it was never explained to me that the return procedure was completely automated, nor was it explained to me that I could have returned the rental any time the day of use. After 10 hours of moving, and then setting an alarm to get up and return by the specified time of 8a only to stand in the rain and complete the automated return of taking pictures etc, when I could have easily and happily returned the vehicle the day before NOT STAND IN THE RAIN and been able to sleep in. Your staff does not know your products or the computer system or TRUE customer service. If you had any idea how much money "we" (my partner and I) have been and unfortunately need to continue to spend on renting Uhaul trucks to relocate to the Charleston, WV area from several states you would be ashamed at the service we have been receiving.Monya C.

2nd time in last few months rented trucks 1st time I for got take pictures of my gas an miles put 45.00 in gas an they said I didn't put gas back in I has no pictures show I did, this time got truck when we got up too speed limit the wheel felt an sound like it was going fall off ,we was told we could bring it back or wait 90 min for another truck I paid ppl help me move an2 could only work until 530 we didn't get too my old house until 415 ,we picked up 1st truck up at 130 we would have gotten done before 5:30 had truck not been mess up we didn't get finished until 12:30/100 in morning .Elizabeth G.

I was so impressed with the storage facility! My mom was actually the one who set everything up, so I hadn’t seen it initially. When I went to grab things out of storage, I was blown away with how nice the facility actually was. There was a large interior space and it was climate controlled. There were multiple access points, as well as indoor parking access, which, on a very hot day, was amazing to find! There were carts available to help tote boxes in and boxes out, so I didn’t need to worry about having a dolly myself. Everything was incredibly clean and I felt very secure both in my possessions being well-protected and safe. My mom was the one that dealt with staff, and she was also very happy with each interaction that she had with staff along the way. Overall, I don’t think we could have had a better experience (unless a genie had come with the unit, bestowing magical gifts while we were there 🤣). Thanks U-Haul!Jennifer J. | Overall Experience

Everything was fine except I missed a month by mistake and I was charged an astronomical amount. I believe it was the month of June bc I was only off 48 hrs in three weeks time. Well I rented a 6 by 12 and there was a board and blankets in there and when I returned it I left that stuff in there and they charged me for that stuff that was already in there and I don't think that was right when they should have checked it before I got it to make sure everything was good and when you return something they check it so they should have known that but I got charged for something that someone else left behindRichard L.

First, they marked the gas tank as having 1/4 tank more than it actually had; I took a picture with my phone of the actual amount in the tank when I picked up the van and how much was in it when I delivered it. I have a real issue with being charged $20 for returning my Uhaul rental earlier than required. No one stated that there would be a charge for returning the rental after hours and I rented on a Saturday without knowing whether or not the location was even open on a Sunday. To charge me $20 for making it more convenient to the location to inspect and check the rental in is ludicrous and a poor business practice. This experience will certainly be a consideration for my next rental need.ROBERT L.

I tried calling, I tried messaging no one would answer. I was late with my U-Haul which I tried to contact them for more time, upon getting there they wanted to charge me for an extra day. The guy was nice and said he wouldn't charge me because they had been busy ALL day and couldn't get to the phones I thought how nice! They left the ebrake on and the tire started smoking going down the highway. Pulled over for safety and was in a hotbed of brown recluse spiders and ticks sucking my blood. Called police who waited the entire hour and half that it took a U-Haul roadside maintenance to fix the tire.BRETT C.

The two at the front desk allegedly there to assist customers were absolutely useless. Young sandy blonde female and large man with a Go-T, I cannot give names bc they refused to provide them, did the bare minimum to assist. I explained when I walked up I was transferring units, it was not processed as such. I was told if I wanted the transfer and credit from ky original unit applied to the new "I guess call the manager and get it done bc I don't know how". When said paperwork was finished, it was handed to me, nothing said, no new unit humber provides, nothing. When i asked for the unit info it was a huff, an eye roll and then she handed me a map, still no unit number. I literally had to ask her again, for the third time, if she can tell me the unit number so I can find it. This is the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had anywhere. Nothing was told to me about what I needed to do once I moved units at all so once finished I left. Ten minutes after leaving I get a call stating I need to come back bc my transfer was done incorrectly. (shocker). This is absolutely unacceptable. I have NEVER been treated this way as a customer just trying to utilize a service with a company. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY climate controlled storage until in the vicinity of where I reside, otherwise, I would definitely not still be a customer.DIANA G. | Overall Experience

I had reserved a large storage unit via online. There was no indication online that I had NO GUARANTEE to actually get a unit. I found this out when I showed up to move in.
