The originating location in San Antonio was terrible. The containers were not ready and I was over-charged for gas when I used a box truck to bring my contents to the facility so I could load the containers. Despite multiple phone calls and voicemails and photo evidence of the gas gauge, I was still overcharged $50. The arrival facility in Palmer AK was great. Excellent customer service, professional and responsive to what I needed. The facility in Palmer, AK is by far the best U-Haul facility I have interacted with and I've used quite a few u-hual services in several states. Shout out to all the staff in Palmer, AK. Your online system is total bait and switch, promising pickup without lines, etc. I was mortified when the UHaul employee pulled out his personal phone and took a picture of me license for the uhaul app. You've got to fix that immediately.PATRICK M.

In general it might be good practice to switch the fuel tank policy to return them full. Got mine with 1/4 tank and returned at just under half. Long drive, few fuel stops. Couldn't just Nickle and dime it. Couldn't just drive extra to burn what I put in because I'd have to pay for miles. Just seems silly to have possible scenarios where customers are giving uhaul free fuel.DANIEL J.

Tons of misinformation was provided to me. I was told multiple times that the UBox had shipped but it was sitting at the location in Knoxville, TN. We shipped it early so my husbands tools could arrive in time for him to start a mechanic job which he could not start until we received them. Very frustrating. My police officer brother ended up calling for me to raise hell pretty much and it finally got moved along and shipped. I had called to speak with a regional manager multiple times and never received a call back, avoiding responsibility I think. We lost income on this delay in delivery. Misinformation galore. The U haul computer system seemed a bit clunky from what I overheard from the employees. The were units that seemed to be available on paper but could not be found on the computer system. We eventually settled on a unit that was available to rent after some time. I really appreciate the help from U haul but feel that the employees need more advanced computer system and proper training.herbey l. | First Impressions

I was supposed to pickup at 6am but tge online system didn't work correctly and I had to wait until the location opened. This put me behind schedule but the manager was super helpful when the location opened and that made up for the tech glitch.Layla L.

The Bonners Ferry location was fantastic, exceptional customer service. However, all other support from your 1-800 number, I will call it uhaul corporate, was pisspoor at best. I'm pretty sure no one cares at uhaul but just in case there is someone who wants to improve your organization, I will provide feedback. This is the worst experience I've ever had and you put us in danger, I've lived all over the U.S. and move every couple years due to the nature of my job but I will never use uhaul again. Uhaul corporate office redirected me to a larger city for pick-up and I found out the afternoon prior to pick up. Considering I am a woman about to drive through Canada alone with her 12 year old child and dog, this was the worst news, especially considering all the covid requirements that Canada has. We ended up being able to resolve picking up at a closer location but it still cost me an entire day of moving time because of the domino effect that it caused by uhaul corporate doing this. I made my reservation weeks before and I specifically called to make my reservation to ensure that I was able to pick up in Bonners Ferry because it would drastically change my timeline and planning considerations if I could not. Due to all of the other things I had to change at the last minute, including our required covid tests to enter Canada, your corporate office put us in a very bad situation without any concern or consideration. A few days into the trip, I noticed one of the autohauler tires kept getting low. I stopped to get it checked and there was a plug in the sidewall of the tire, it should have never been rented to us like this. We are driving through through large tracts of remote land, with little to no cell or internet service and few towns. I didn't have enough internet to claim roadside assistance so I called for 2 1/2 hours. I would be on hold for a certain amount of time and then it would just hang up on me. When I did get a hold of someone they explained that's it's an algorithm built into your system and that they can't help me and transferred me to roadside assistance, and I got hung up on again. This happened multiple times. Canadians are not allowed to come in contact with us at all, nor can we go into any public places due to their covid restrictions, they risk fines, jail times and their businesses being shut down if they do not comply. A Canadian business woman came out to me and invited me to come into her business and login to her WiFi so I could use the online road assistance request. She risked fines and losing her business to help us, we were out there for hours. Once I did the online request, we got help right away. Thank God for her help. I would expect uhaul to be flexible enough to adapt to customers that are in an area where they cannot access internet but once again my expectations were too high I guess. Traveling to Alaska via Canada has been remote for years, it's not like this is something new. I was re-routed by Canadian authorities due to wildfires in British Columbia and was given a special travel route that we had to take due to covid. Just talking the fastest route wasn't an option to us. I was told by your 1-800 personnel that I would be given an extra day and more mileage. When I arrived in Palmer, Alaska- none of this was in the system. The Palmer location was awesome and they helped me and got it fixed. Your local offices are great but your corporate office is absolutely incompetent and has no regard for your customers whatsoever. Overall, I am honestly revolted by your organization.ELISE M.

There was one light on the trailer that was out due to damage to the wheel well "cover" when we picked up - did not affect use of hte trailer, but I didn't become aware of this until our first night on the road (3900-mile journey) - I guess I'd just recommend a full walk-around of the equipment prior to leaving the rental lot. But I also want to add that the service and willingness to meet my needs for a trailer (when a clerical/paperwork error was made on their end) was FANTASTIC - thorough, quick, accommodating) and everyone was a pleasure to work with. I paid with a credit card and had a trailer reserved so that my father in law could pick it up for me and when he went in to get it, the store made him pay with his card. I'm not very impressed with the lack of service provided and the lack of communication. If I pay for something over the phone I shouldn't have to have to do it all over again at the store.Carl S.
