People at the counter were nice. I rented from uhaul because the trucks could fit three people. Well the 3rd seat is a jump seat and not very comfortable for the third guy after 12 hours in the truck. The truck was to short. Thought I checked the bottom length but somehow I missed that it was not 15' at the bottom. This kinds of misleading BS really should stop. The engine and transmission where strong, the only good thing about it. The windows were filthy inside and out, had to clean them myself, Wiper fluid was empty, made for a great time driving on salted wet roads. The heater / defrost fan did not work. Cost me an hour waiting for the sun to come up to defrost. The roller bearing on the door were falling out each time I raised and lowered the cargo door. As had been my experience with uhaul they run well but everything else is garbage. If I only needed seating for two people I would not have rented this truck. Will try avoiding uhual in the future. This truck should be pulled from service and fixed, cleaned, and topped off with fluids. It was unsafe to operate, mainly because the windows were dirty. No offer was made for my inconvenience which I thought was kind of crappy but I did not push the issue as I was happy just to move on and forgot those three days. I was called and told I didn't drop my trailer off three days after I had actually dropped it off. I have been a loyal customer and rent so many trailers I could have bought one but choose to rent! If I ever am called like that again I will be at the business in 10 minutes and in your face! Don't ever call me nastily again and leave messages like you did! Told her about the scratches on the outside of the truck a lot of them wasn't marked ( I took pictures of the Uhaul before we left at Millinocket and point out the scratches to the employee before I left so he also took pictures because he never looked at the outside of the truck when he checked it back in), and told her about the backup light forgot to tell her about the cup holder.Judith P.

upgrade your trucks. I have rented from Penske, and the truck provided had just 2000 miles on it and was much quieter and much smoother riding. While Penske has some issues of its own, their equipment is hands down better than u haul.david M.

If you have the truck for 27hrs you should not be charged a 2day charge. I was charged the full 2 day charge. I picked the truck up at 345 on Friday and returned the truck at 655 on Saturday 5 minutes before closing and they charged for another full day.Bonnie W.

I got into the van and turned it on to double check what the starting mileage was and immediately the change oil now message came across as well as service tire monitor alert and the tire pressure light was on. I immediately notified the representative that had checked me out and given me the van key and he said " it should be fine; you're driving on a spare but it's a full size spare and you're only taking the van for a day." When I returned to the van the next day I pulled into the return equipment line and sat there and waited for 15 minutes behind another vehicle that was parked. Nobody came out nobody told me what the next steps were so I had to get out of the vehicle and find someone who worked there --who was very very friendly told me to just give him the key and he would email me the receipt. Everyone I encountered at this location was very friendly, however for such a big facility I'm surprised the vehicles aren't in a better maintained state, as the other available vehicles had multiple cosmetic damage marks on them in the parking lot.Cheri V.

Well, I'm disappointed. My wife went to Bangor to return the order without telling me. (It was a nice jester on her part) Unfortunately she went to the wrong location The operator at that location did not properly check her out. He rushed her to drop off the trailer and told her to drive away. If he check her out properly at a desk. He could have informed my wife she was at the wrong location. (3 miles away). If my wife was informed she would have easily made the drive. At this point a am a bit disgusted. So the option will be to try Home Depot if this can't be reasonably resolved. Everyone was excellent at this location. The uhaul was clean but the only thing I would recommend is the pull down door in the back was rusted and difficult to close at times. Seemed to not always come down from the tracks and we had a hard time to close it after loading.nancy D.

Received another email to write this location. I've already rated this location twice and I've already done two different surveys. This is the third one I've received via email one full day after I had already been done with my U-Haul experience. Let's just put it this way I will make sure that U-Haul is my very last option, and even then I may not go with U-Haul. Was interested in looking into Storage now I will not be doing that at al with u haul not to mention, I was never even asked when I picked up my reservation that they also didn't even have on file to say the least I won't be using this company the last time I used you all I was charged double and then had to wait 30 days for a refund. This time I was put into a dirty truck that had been sitting on clean who knows how long item is in the back, whenever put away and during operation, my wife was passenger seat, and because we did not know of items in the back of the vehicle, and it was never checked, she was slammed in the back through the wall of the truck with one of the unsecured appliance dollies that was never put away I didn't want to complain about small things, but after yesterday's visit to what I thought was a reputable company, this location clearly would make anyone that believes in U-Haul a disbeliever the one and only employee in the building had to open the store late which caused issues for me due to the fact that whoever was supposed to originally be there on their schedule to open, the store never showed up and the manager of the store, instead of taking it into their own hands and making sure they got the store open on their own for someone with a small child to open the store and then this woman struggled to take care of the 6 to 7 customers in and out of the store with no help on top of dealing with several customers from Storage, so to say the least, whoever is running this organization at the Odlin Road Bangor Maine, Outer, Hammond Street location. This is not their area of expertise. If you're a manager of a place, and you were made aware of a circumstance that caused the store not to open on time you do what you need to as a manager to get in there and get it open until you can find an employee to cover. You don't have somebody that scheduled to come in and get them to come in early even after they tell you they have no childcare. The woman that was operating, the establishment deserves a hefty raise, as well as a vacation possibly paid under the circumstances that she had to go through yesterday. But as far as professionalism when I brought the vehicle back and dropped it off, there was another employee that had showed up to work. Don't know that I would recommend manager of this establishment needs a stern talking to it's one thing to express your personal preferences and choices and freedoms however, when you're in a business establishment and you're wearing your uniform clothes Such as untucked shirt, hat sideways, riding your scooter around the building it doesn't make your company look very professional. Needless to say I have never felt embarrassed like this yesterday. I will never be using U-Haul ever again. And I will make very sure that anyone I come in contact with that asks this place will not be a recommendation that's for sure.L also, since I had a mishap with U-Haul and a previous experience, I will be monitoring my checking account very closely because the last time I had used U-Haul I previously stated in this page letter survey. I was double charged, and then forced to wait almost a month for my repayment, because of a mistake that the employees of U-Haul made. And it seems to me that you probably should send people through more training and also maybe higher staff that's more dependable. A major business like U-Haul scheduled to open at 8 AM and doesn't open until almost 10. That's a problem. Very disappointed.Michael R.

I use U-Haul every few months. So I have the app to complete the return of the equipment I rented. There is never usually an issue. However, yesterday when I was going through the process of returning the trailer I rented, the app seemed glitchy. Not sure if it's the service where I was or what. But, when I was at the part to take photos of the equipment.. I was able to take the first photo of the drivers side and then the app went crazy & I couldn't finish. I closed it to reopen it and start over, but I didn't give me the return option. Like it was completed. I was able to see it as completed in my â€œpast ordersâ€ it was just something that never happened to me before, so I want to make sure all that was processed correctly. Cameron and the people at U-Haul of upper Hammond, Bangor did a great job putting on the hitch and were very helpful. U-Haul does have a system where if they are not available to answer the phone phone messages are sent it to the national office and this creates a huge amount of confusion About what is going on. We came in on Friday spoke to a lady their asked her to reserve a pick up truck for Monday at 1 pm when we got there at 1 pm the trucks were all out. You guys gave us a small box truck instead for the same price but it might use more gas than the regular pickup truck not sure. Better communication amongst your employees is needed. I bought a UHAUL a special charging adaptor so I could charge my iPhone enroute because the truck had only a cigarette lighter style of plug. But it was very cheaply made and stopped working so my iPhone died. I had to stop at Staples and buy a better adaptor!!! First off when calling this location you didnt get thru to this location, you got an 800 number who knows where they were. Couldn't talk to anyone on site. The day I arrived at this location with a uhaul truck with my stuff, the guy knew Nothing about the one month free promo. He also didnt seem clear about my unit..where it was. Also when I first arrived No one in store area...took me awhile to hunt someone down that worked there. Also when I went back to get in my unit, and on move out day. Also another customer was in store before me looking for clerk to help them. Very frustrating to have to hunt some down. Again even tho the phone number seem to be for this location, impossible to get to speak to someone at that actual location. (Concerning) my one month free. Assistant manager was horrible. Not only was he disrespectful to me as the customer but to his coworker in front of me. On top of the attitude they charged me for the unit when I had reserved online and had a discount for a free month and was only supposed to pay 7.95 but got charged the full month fee. They told me they reversed it once they looked in their system and saw the reservation but now it has be withdrawn from my account not just on hold anymore. Drove 18 hours from North Carolina and got to the u-haul. The reservation with the customer service people on the phone apparently had been all sorts of messed up. The general manager over the other store across town as well as another gentleman both named Matthew were both very accommodating. They gave me another unit at the store down the road and hook me up on the price for the inconvenience. When I got there the one that they sent me to actually had a lock on it already but even the staff at the other location were amazing about jumping right on that and getting us into an open unit. Matthew at the desk was absolutely exceptional with communication and even apologize a few times like it was his own fault. I honestly wish I had employees like him. You do not honor your reservation system and had rented out the unit that I reserved and then claimed earlier online. Due to this incredibly misleading system and the blatant lies in your confirmation email, I drove to with a U-Haul truckload of furniture to a storage unit that was not available. This put your wonderful customer service rep in a terrible position and ruined my day along with my opinion of your company. The customer service rep worked hard to find a solution for me. U-haul rented me a parking spot in their parking lot for $65 per month. U-haul deducted $65 from my account for 24 months. Someone cut the catalytic converter off my passenger van. U-haul said they're not responsible because they don't rent parking spaces in their parking lot. If that is the case then why did U-haul rent me the spot and why did U-haul take money out of my account each month? I was charged for a late fee when I signed up for auto pay and someone at the counter mixed up and didn't enter as auto pay. The facility was always very clean and organized. I felt that my items were secure and a close eye was kept on the facility. I appreciated the staff’s communications if they had any questions about my unit - I felt comfortable keeping my items in the unit even when I was out of state for a few months as it was clear the facility was very well run.Karen I. | Overall Experience
