Pickup was good. It took a little longer than expected as I needed to repeat all my information after previously giving that information at the time of the reservation. I rented a trailer and one of the reps hitched the trailer on my truck for me. The problem I had was upon the return. I wanted to simply drop it off and leave. There was a long line inside and was told I would be helped after they took care of the line. I waited almost an hour before I noticed a small sign for contactless drop offs. This would have been good to know when I first picked up the trailer, it was never mentioned. I went to the app and found it to not be so easy. The app required pictures to be taken and when I got to the part of location, I had to walk around to the other side of the building to scan the barcode. This begs the question as to why there is not a location barcode at the return area of the building. Once I scanned the barcode and took multiple pictures, the same rep who had me waiting on the line then told me to leave the equipment and he would check me out when he was done. This only made me wonder why he didn't tell me that in the first place. I then had trouble unhitching the trailer since I did not put it on when I picked it up. I had to find the how to remove part in the app. I ended up completing the return and payment on the app that again I wish I knew about when I picked it up. I think your employees need to understand most people do not use their trucks and trailers often and should be informed on some of the useful information I mentioned above.tim D.

I made a reservation to pick up a Uhaul truck on October 19th at 9:00 AM in the town of Hancock, ME. It's a location 9 miles from where I lived. The day before pick up I was told the truck would not be available until 4:00 PM. In order to use the movers I had arranged, I drove an hour to get a truck that showed up in Bangor, ME.JOE H.

Gas tank should be full when you pick it up and then fill it when you bring it back. Otherwise it's a bit of a guessing game. Plus when they say it has 1/2 and it's actually a little less that 1/2, which adds up $$$ Not a reflection on the location, which was great and I would surely recommend using them ! This equipment was in extremely poor condition, transmission would not shift (no, it was not in "tow" mode), loud clanking turning corners, defrost fan worked only intermittently, no cab or box lights, driverside door gasket peeled off and fell off in the middle of a drenching rain storm, door hinge area on both sides damaged and worked roughly, provided rear padlock would not lock, facility personnel were 2 hours late arriving the morning I returned for help... and they gaslighted me entirely because "there were no Dashboard warning lights" to PROVE there was anything wrong. This equipment needs to be taken out of circulation and the office personnel needs professionalism training. The equipment was a 20-ft moving truck.Shari H.

There have been management changes and location changes and employee changes and each time this facility was used I had a favorable experience. Drove 18 hours from North Carolina and got to the u-haul. The reservation with the customer service people on the phone apparently had been all sorts of messed up. The general manager over the other store across town as well as another gentleman both named Matthew were both very accommodating. They gave me another unit at the store down the road and hook me up on the price for the inconvenience. When I got there the one that they sent me to actually had a lock on it already but even the staff at the other location were amazing about jumping right on that and getting us into an open unit. Matthew at the desk was absolutely exceptional with communication and even apologize a few times like it was his own fault. I honestly wish I had employees like him. There is a very large lack of communication with uhaul hitch installations. There are no update calls and the hitch installer damaged my muffler in the process. Adam flipped the whole experience for me, giving me great customer service, a refund for the damage, and updates. I would recommend this place only because of AdamRENEE D.

It's bogus that I can select a truck for pick-up in my location online but only get notified the day prior to pick-up that my town doesn't stock trucks that size. As such, we had to drive an hour to get the truck. The associate who assisted us didn't give us the blankets we purchased so we had to go back in and get them and he had the worst customer service skills. He never once addressed the gentleman that was with me and instead would ask me what his name was and his phone number, he was literally standing right behind me. He also told us outside when bringing the truck around to ignore a light that was on in the truck but never documented in our paperwork that a light was on.SARA C.

You do not honor your reservation system and had rented out the unit that I reserved and then claimed earlier online. Due to this incredibly misleading system and the blatant lies in your confirmation email, I drove to with a U-Haul truckload of furniture to a storage unit that was not available. This put your wonderful customer service rep in a terrible position and ruined my day along with my opinion of your company. The customer service rep worked hard to find a solution for me. I had changed reservation from one way rental to round trip and then had to extend by 5 days. Then, it turned out I didn't need it as long and returned the truck to Bangor 4 days early. Location refused to credit the 4 days even though I brought equipment back early. Initially rented out of the Old Town branch but they didn't have the required equipment. Should have waited until they did as Old Town always has excellent service as it relates to truck or trailer rental.John J.

When I went to U-Haul to pick up my reservation, the employee working at the counter appeared to have brought her child to work. The child seemed to be around the age of 2 and was clearly struggling with being there. The employee turned her attention to the child a few times while I was there waiting in line and also when I was being waited on. I had to ask twice how to get my items I had purchased online with my reservation and the child was distracting the employee by crying, asking for her blanket, and touching the supplies behind the counter. There appeared to be another person there entertaining the child on the floor as well, which I don't feel was appropriate for a place of business. Lastly, when I was given my key, another employee pointed me in the direction of the truck and I was grateful to know where it was. However, there was another truck parked right behind the one I was supposed to take and this employee never took the time to offer to move it or even acknowledge that there was absolutely no way to get my reserved truck from the spot it was in. I had to walk back inside and wait longer in line. I was given the key to the truck the was accessible so the switch was easy, but the experience was inconvenient and less than good.Ashley N.

U-haul rented me a parking spot in their parking lot for $65 per month. U-haul deducted $65 from my account for 24 months. Someone cut the catalytic converter off my passenger van. U-haul said they're not responsible because they don't rent parking spaces in their parking lot. If that is the case then why did U-haul rent me the spot and why did U-haul take money out of my account each month? Karen should be removed from her position effective immediately for treating me so badly. I have a fatal disease called ALS and live in a house with a garage door opener to which I have a remote to and I also have 10 animals and Karen lied and said I was living there when I have a house and a garage remote and 10 animals. She even lied to the cops and lied that was attacking her and threatening her. What was I going to charge her with my walker. She wasted my time and gave me emotional distress and refused me a full refund and went too far. She will be hearing from my attorney and should be gravely ashamed of herself for the way she treated a dying person. Then to send me a letter in my email saying I hope u continue to use uhaul. This is so much better than an outdoor storage facility. In winter I don't want to stand in the freezing cold trying to access a unit. It's all indoors , the unit circle got I mean, some garage ones have to be outside. Very helpful staff. Clean. Immaculately neat. Highly recommend it .Suzanne M. | Online Move In

Great place clean and available. The Process of obtaining their service excrucianly painful and intrucive. Will never use them again. They should just take a DNA swabs or a Stool Sample.
