I dropped off a truck and left 2200$ in an bank envelope inside the truck. Came back to uhaul after 37 minutes to let the attending employee in the office know I had left an envelope containing cash for my company. I was told he never seen anything after reparking and going through the vehicle. I went outside and checked the truck that I had used, just to have another employee try and assist me in finding the envelope. Needless to say the envelope was never recovered, and the last place it was seem was still in the flip down center console.Joey A.

The truck I was given was on its last legs. The transmission was lagging and the back door was rusty and really hard to open and close. The worst thing, however, was the customer service. I attempted to check the truck in via the U-Haul app several times, but it kept crashing. It was late and I didn't want to spend too much time returning the truck in the dark, so I placed the key in an envelope and wrote that I was unable to return the truck via the app on the outside. I also took a picture of the whole thing so nobody could say I didn't do it. Aaa Well, I was STILL charged the (ridiculous) after hours return fee. It's bad enough the app is a mess, but to penalize me because of it is outrageous. I rent a lot of trucks and trailers, and I spend a good bit at U-Haul. I prefer to go to Whitney Rd, at that location. It's pretty basic and grimy, but their trucks always run well and they don't waste my money on petty fees. From now on, I'll be sure to rent from there. I came to this location because they supposedly had the truck I wanted to rent. They didn't have the truck available, so I spent more money on a bigger truck, and definitely lived to regret that decision. I've never had a bad experience at Whitney Road.KRYSTAL K.
Inspect the mechanical condition of the truck better in between rentals. My truck pulled to one side (front end out of alignment?) and a headlight was out. It would be good to ask the renter "did the equipment function okay; anything to report; any issues?". I forgot to report the above items when I returned the truck. The day I moved in I was very tired. Long day driving the day before. I was feeling kind of cranky. If it wasn't for the two gentlemen working that day, my day would have been a whole lot worse!! I really wish I got their names!! They had me smiling and laughing within a few minutes!! I have nothing bad to say about these two guys except to keep up the Great work!! The workers were nice but did not seem to know how to do the rental agreement, paid for one way rental with drop off in Other location. But they put on form back to their location, i was charged extra fee for wrong drop off location but was able to get it corrected, they were having difficulties that day i guess. Hand truck that was left on the truck had to broken welds and had sharp metal, I cut my thump open when I removed it from the truck. I brought truck back and explained the problem to the mgr. and went to show him, he said â€œ oh, I know which one that isâ€. I asked if you knew it was broken why did you leave it on the truck? When the four Uboxes were dropped off in Colorado only one of them had furniture pads. I told the driver and called 3 other people to tell them. the customer service rep told me to go to the longmont facility but when I arived they did not have any. has nothing to do with this location.Monte L.

One of our units had water damage. All of our contents were destroyed with mold, mildew and odor, approximately $20 000.00 cost of 8 price dining room set, 2 living room sets, , 3 sectional wall unit, bookcase, 2 bedroom sets queen and twin including dressers, nightstand and mattresses, leather briefcases, several baseball caps, important documents, garden bench,?plant starts, antique sewing machine, 4i0 inch smart TV, clothing items etc almost everything that we owned is unusable. We filed a claim in March 2022 , it is almost August 2022 it still has not been finalized. There has been a lack of communication with the insurance company. This matter needs to be resolved immediately. We are very disappointed for the lack of communication and professionalism in resolving our claim.Tracey M. | Overall Experience

The whole experience was excellent. I returned the day of pickup because the turn signals on the trailer were not working. After a quick inspection it was my car that had a blown fuse. I have reached out in regards to my hitch installment I had scheduled for Thursday June 23rd. On June 11th I went in to a uhaul store at a spartanburg SC location. They didnt have anyone to do hitch installments for the rest of the month. They offered to schedule at a different place for me. Which was in Greenville SC. The date was confirmed and I was all set to go. Just waiting for the installment date to come. On June 22, the day before the installment date, The greenville location called and left a voicemail saying they dont have the wiring kit and that it hasn't came in yet. I tried to reach them multiple times today with no response. So i called the other store, the spartanburg location where I originally wentâ€¦ They actually told me that the greenville location NEVER ordered the kit and or it was never even sent. So the spartanburg location had to place me on hold for about an hour to call around other uhauls to see if they could overnight the wiring kit. They finally got someone to send it overnight and that was that. I appreciate the spartanburg location for that. I then called the greenville location again, and they finally picked up. I asked about the wire kit, and they said it was coming the next day. I was confused, because they never placed the order! They were just referring to what the Spartanburg location had helped me with. If I never called the spartanburg location, the greenville location would have never ordered or even had a tracking for my wire kit. This was an inconvenience for me financially. Because I had to miss work. I had rent a car to get the hitch installed all because of the delay and them not placing an order for me! It all, honestly fails to meet the standard for what I paid for. Ultimately this caused me more money! Such as missing work and having to rent a car. I only could do Thursday June 23rd because my sister took off work that day to help me!Sandra Y.

The experience from start to finish was a pleasure. I worked with Hawk and he truly went above and beyond. I needed to have a hitch installed on my vehicle and had so many questions. He answered all of them clearly, both on the phone and in person, and was very personable and friendly. He even went so far as to warn me about the wiring kit I initally picked out and how this could affect my warranty (I have a brand new car and would of voided my warranty entirely had he not told me about hard versus quick wiring). He special ordered, and expeditited, this new kit for me to make sure it would be there on time for my appointment. He completed the installation earlier than expected and was a gentleman all around. I can't say enough, Hawk is truly an asset to Uhaul. This store is brand new, so many trucks and trailers in stock (not like other locations where it can be limited), very clean and easy to get to (right off 85, exit 70). Move in was extremely smooth and easy. Location is amazingly huge, clean and has everything needed for moving in one place. I was very impressed. One issue… Our unit number does not appear on the map of the facility. #343 Even the staff was surprised. You need to correct the map. UHAUL customer service is way below standards. No one answers the phone, there's no place online to handle my issue. This is in no way a reflection on Steve August or his staff. They just don't have enough people. They iare expected to be in the office handling walk-ins and answering the phone, but they also need to show new customers their units and go over the rules and regulations etc. Problem is there is only one person scheduled to handle all of that. UHAUL needs to hire more staff to take care of customers needs in a timely effecient manner. A error was made by the facility which caused me to not have access to my unit once. I attempted to resolve the situation politely by explaining my encounter with the company to the manager . The manager responded by being very unprofessional and rude during our call while knowing they were at fault for the situation.
