Benjamin L.I left my boxes in the truck overnight as we were tired Wednesday night to continue Thursday. It rained heavily in Tallahassee, Florida on Thursday 5/26/2022, and most of my boxes with my books, dishes and clothes got soaked from the rain. There was a leak in the right side of the roof and we didn't know until we started unpacking. That really put a “damper†on my move.
Cathy D.Third U-Haul location I had to go to just to find furniture blankets! They limited how many I could get. Woman at register did not know how to use it. Guy who took charge took approximately one HOUR to ring up the blankets. UNBELIEVABLE how TERRIBLE the service was!!!

Even though there was a note to call on the walkie-talkie both were on the counter. Once clerk got to the counter everything went smoothly. If a clerk is going to be out on the property the walkie-talkie needs to be in their processing

When I spoke to the representative, they hung up in my face and told me it was my fault that I didn't take a picture of the truck. I returned the truck with the amount of gas I received it with, and was charged. I need this rectified immediately.
danreyell H.We had to rent a storage room at the last minute as we were moving our daughter to a new city. The uhaul staff was helpful and friendly and the facility was clean and well-lit. It was also easy to rent a Ubox a month later to move the rest of her belongings to her new city! Will highly recommend uhaul to family and friends!!

MARTA A. | Overall ExperienceThe cust. svc rep handling my initial reservation , told me the truck I was reserving would hold 2 bedrooms. The truck was way too small and had no Ramp for loading heavy furniture with hand trucks. Also, when picking up the truck, did not greet, and treated as though the transaction was a disruption to whatever she was going before I arrived. Terrible customer service. However when I returned the next day the gentleman that greeted me was WONDERFUL!

Otherwise all great. Think that's a gimmick. Why not fill tank up so no question when I rotten filed up. Next time I'll take a picture.

LaClarence M. | Overall ExperienceFirstly, I reserved a 15-foot truck two week prior to the date of service and when I got to the U-Haul location, they did not have it, they only had 10-foot trucks. I had to ask the woman at the desk to call other locations to see if they had a 15-foot truck on hand, she called one place and that was it. She showed no concern or care that they did not have what I reserved weeks in advance on hand. Nor did she try to make it right. As a result, I had to make three more trips than necessary for my move. Additionally, this particular location is very small. It was difficult to maneuver and park the truck per U-Hauls specifications. I am not happy with my experience and will look for other options upon my next move later this summer.
MARK ANDREW Y.When we arrived the lady was playing on her phone at the front desk and didn't help me right away. She didn't know I was there. Then every time she said some thing and I asked her to repeat it (because the noise from the traffic was coming in the door and I couldn't hear) her she would just repeat it at the same tone so I still couldn't hear. The traffic wasn't getting any quieter but she wasn't getting any louder. She was basically pretty rude.

Especially, during the pandemic. Third, during a time I had to purchase boxes, the credit machine was not working. So, my options were to pay cash or give the associate my credit card number, which I found inconvenient. Other than that, my overall experience was good.

There was a note on the desk that said use a hand radio to contact someone if there was no one at the desk . We tried several times to use the radio But we still waited in the lobby 10 minutes before someone showed up to help us. When the associate showed up she said that the second radio was not working ..??? Bad customer service!!

KYLE J.The truck had some transmission issues. It would not shift gears smoothly. Also, if you tried to put it in reverse from the drive position, it would pop into neutral. It did this several times. To engage reverse, you first had to shift it to park, and then shift to reverse. I used this for local move so not too bad; however, I would not have been comfortable taking the truck out of town.
James K.The young lady working was very friendly. Our reservation was missing a few things that would have made picking up smoother. It took a while to open the gate to access the truck and the keys were not in the truck as previous locations had done. With that said i would still highly recommend this place because staff was friendly and she was doing a great job for working by herself.

I just spent my time this morning, same as last weekend, chatting with customer service yet again about a very bad experience at a local UHaul location yesterday. At the end of the chat, I asked for a confirmation of the credit I am supposed to receive as a result of last week's horrible experience. I asked that I also receive a copy of the trascript of today's conversation. What I just received via email is a trascript of LAST WEEK'S (9 Oct) chat conversation regarding the ridiculous experience I had when my reservation was canceled. So here I sit AGAIN, wasting my Sunday morning reaching out to customer service trying to resolve yet another screw up and subpar customer service experience with UHaul. I NEED A CONFIRMATION that the certification from last week's debacle has been applied and a refund is being issued AND I NEED A copy of THIS MORNING"S transcript/conversation regarding yesterday's transcaction. How difficult is this?

MARGARET E.This UHaul location is the worst location I have ever rented a truck from, and I have used UHaul on many occasions. Last weekend this location canceled and then gave away my 10' truck without notifying me. I pulled up my account to have the reservation info with me before I went to pick up the truck and that is when I saw that the reservation was not there. had to search my account to find the information under the "communication" tab, despite the fact that there was no communication. When I called to ask why my reservation was cancelled, I was told that it was because I had not arrived at 9AM, the time that the truck was reserved for. Subsequently, no other 10' was available and I was not able to complete the move last weekend. When I contacted customer service last weekend I was given a $15 gift card for the inconvenience. I reserved a truck for this weekend, the 16th of October to complete the move. When I made the reservation, I entered the certificate number under "promo code/certificates". The credit was applied. When I went to pick up the truck, the credit did not appear on the invoice. I asked the clerk at the UHaul location why it did not show and I was told that "it would be applied at checkout". When I checked out the clerk took the key and indicated that she would email me a receipt. When I received the receipt I could see that the credit HAD NOT been applied. I wish that I could say that I was shocked, but because of the poor customer service that I continue to receive when using UHaul. SO, I spent Sunday morning chatting with the UHaul customer service to request that the certificate be credited to my account and a refund be applied, which of course will take 3-5 days to happen. IT is unbelievable how bad the customer service of such a huge company is and how they continue to thrive despite themselves. I will definitely look at other rental truck opportunities going forward because this is a ridiculous waste of my time, everytime.

Then, when I went to the actual facility to move my things in, I confirmed with the lady at the front desk that the storage unit assigned to me was air-conditioned, and she said yes. I then proceeded to my unit and moved my things in. I thought it felt too hot to be air-conditioned, so I went back to the front desk to ask the lady to double-check that my unit was air-conditioned. She said no it wasn't, and that I had to pay $169 for that. This directly contradicts what I was told over the phone and what she told me when I spoke with her initially. She did transfer me to an air-conditioned unit for $169, but now I have to go back and move my heavy things from the previous unit to an air-conditioned unit.
