'm writing this review about the YBOR City, Tampa location. I would review my experience there if it were an option. But, since I wasn't able to get a truck from them, Im not able to review them. I reserved a truck online Sunday night. I uploaded my pictures. I showed up Monday morning as scheduled and I was then prompted to upload photos again (why?). While I was doing that, an employee (no one had a name tag on) came in and offered to help me. She said she was new and asked for patience. I was totally fine with that. Another employee showed up and started helping. He asked me for a second phone number. I responded that I don't have 2 phone numbers. (who has 2 phone numbers?) He said he wouldn't rent me a truck without a second number. I said that I rent trucks frequently and even yesterday from another location, and have never been asked for another phone number. He shot back at me "BYE". I asked for clarification if he just told me bye. He said "yeah, you're not getting a truck". (I have never been talked to like that in any situation ever). I swallowed my rage, I said ok and left in hope that taking the high road would find acceptable solution. I called the customer service line. The Lady helped me to the best of her ability and found me a truck 7 miles away from the location I was just insulted at. Extremely long story short, this ASSHOLE employee at the YBOR location cost me $175 in labor costs from employees waiting to load a truck and I got charged the per mile 14 miles (out of my way), and had to fill the tank for those miles. I was supposed to hear from a manager within 3 days. Surprise surprise. I've heard nothing. I'll be making this review anywhere and everywhere I can until I hear from someone who gives a shitGary V.

Workers are careless! They took the hitch off of my vehicle (Black 4runner) but the customer before me asked them to do that they even told the workers he drove a yellow Ford, my hitch came off as soon as I pulled off with the trailer loaded and caused damage to my vehicle. I suspect the trailer hitch wasn't tightened back up correctly. I paid for insurance and my case isn't being handled last time I plan to do business here.Niurka C.

Every time I need to speak to somebody about my storage unit they could never pull up the m25 unit no matter what we did but every month I had to make that payment and got the late fees if I didn't have it in by the 17th. Even the very next day after moving out and I went to go turn in the truck that I rented they still cannot find my information that I moved out of the unit m25. Then on the day we did rent the truck which was the 16th the young man was in the office by himself trying to handle at least 12 customers at 4:53 pm.But I feel like because everything was a rush situation he didn't understand I was looking for a one-way versus having to drop it back off in Tampa. Then after realizing he gave me the one way he said he had absolutely no one way rentals at this location even in bigger trucks but I just feel like he was just trying to rush really quickly so that he can handle the other customers in the building.yolanda jeriesh r. | Overall Experience

The left side mirror would not stay in position to see cars on the left side to help with changing lanes. Had to keep adjusting the mirror. Major safety issue. Also person who help me behind the desk when I came to pick up the truck used a cell phone to take a picture of the front and back of my driver liscense. I already uploaded the pictures when I reserved the truck. I will be calling to speak to someone on this concern. Also can not open my email to review my receipt. I have about ten emails from uhaul on this use of truck that I can open but the most important one I need I cannot open to view my receipt. Over all truck was clean, ac worked, and friendly service.William S.

Why can I not do a survey on the location that was a nightmare? Ppl were nice at this location, but my bank account has been robbed by U-Haul, I have been hung up on by scheduling, I have witnessed a drug deal in the parking lot of your 56th street location all while my husband was inside being ignored. And not one person has even asked the extent of what happened that day and why we didn't get our truck. I was told I was getting the reservation guarantee, but instead, I have a separate charge for $50 being pulled out of my account on top of the hold for the truck I rented.Eva K.

I'm pretty sure I got charged for miles that weren't mine. I drove not even 10 miles and get charged $75 on a 20ft truck. I didn't need a 20ft truck but that was the only thing available due to low supply.Philip L.

i made a reservation for my u-haul and they were late getting me my truck. i came to this location and they told me my truck wasn't available. i spent an hour and a half searching for other locations with the same sized truck, and i went to one specific location who actually did their jobs and went on a communication network with u-haul people who look for specific trucks. turns out this location DID have my truck. i didn't receive a phone call or anything saying that they had the truck i needed. very unprofessional. because of them, i was late packing up my stuff for my move and my storage unit closed before i could finish loading up my stuff, causing me to have to keep the u-haul for an extra day.Lauryn N.

I was here last week and the blonde lady gave me a hard time about my ID because it was older and not in the best shape so she refused to rent to me, even with a past rental history of about five rentals per month for years now from other locations. I then walked out and drove to the Hillsborough location where the gentlemen processed my rental in five minutes without issue. A few days later I dealt with another Jem at the front desk, younger dark (and blue) haired lady. I needed a pick up truck and was told nothing was available, while staring at one. This was around 10am and after ten minutes of wasting time I finally asked if the â€œreservedâ€ pick up was reserved for that same day and she says no, their reservation starts tomorrow. I said well I only need it for four hours and will be back by 6pm, long before the â€œreservationâ€ for tomorrow at 8am. She agreed to rent it to me for a few hours. After taking a year and a day processing me, I get the keys. Go out to the truck and the key won't work, I read the labor and she gave me keys for a van. I go inside to ask because clearly she made a mistake, and she says I decided to give you the van instead. I never asked for the van, never wanted the van, and we explicitly referred only to the pick up at this point, even advising me I had to have it back that same night; then takes it upon herself to give me a van. Now with other customers, she gets extremely rude from behind the desk and as noted above, â€œI decided to give you the van.â€ To point to the correct van she comes out from behind the desk to point out the window and upon returning nubs her shoulder into mine while I'm standing still and let's just say she isn't a small individual. Extremely unprofessional. I get in the van and it smells like cat piss and the gas is notably below the 3/4 line that miss personality has noted on my paperwork inaccurately. Wasn't even worth bringing it to her attention. Instead to drive three blocks down the road and back, I put in $10 of gas prior to my arrival to avoid any future hassle, even though I literally didn't even use the gas. Not happy at all, and will never be back to this location. Which is sad, because it's three blocks from my house and the location itself is hide with great potential, but until they do a complete overhaul at the front desk, it's not worth my time or money.RYAN R.

The representative was very friendly, explained everything and was able to resolve missing equipment that I had reserved but was unavailable upon my arrival. The techs loaded the trailer on my hitch and explained everything to me as a female that was not condescending or assuming and I appreciated that. On return the young tech that checked the trailer in was also very helpful and luckily reminded of my rented dolly as I had left in in the old apartment. I was able to retrieve it and he finalized my receipt. Much thanks with his patience and cooperation. They could have easily penalized me but they did the right thing. I will most likely drive a few extra miles for my college kids next move just to work with this particular dealer.Ilona I.

I only have a few problems: 1. The unit is listed as 9' high, but I don't have use of 9' due to pipes and a red line on the wall as a warning, that should be provided before renting the unit. 2. There are not enough carts in case multiple people are there loading/unloading. I went there to unload and a group had both carts, leaving nothing for anyone else. 3. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only disappointment was that the biggest unit 10x10 was only 6ft high. I just moved to Florida and don't know the area, I had all of my belongings with me. If I wasn't on such a time crunch or hadn't gotten rid of most of my big stuff I would have had to go to a different storage place. Because it wouldn't have fit. I was very disappointed in that. I sold me had to be cut off by a locksmith before I could move in it cost me extra $200 with the mover because of the delay and $100 for the locksmith. No one would come over to the unit and help me. One month after I moved in I got a email saying I had the inappropriate lock I was locked out of my storage unit. And I just recently got another email telling them it's urgent I need to contact them they didn't like the way I locked my unit. I reserve a unit at one location, when I arrive, they said its not available, they send me to another location that had a 10x10 unit. Which was further away, meanwhile I rented a uhaul truck prior which increased my mileage and expenses. I was on Budget and it through me off.. I shouldn't have to pay for extra mileage/gas/fees when I scheduled accordingly to my home. I should get refunded. 862 201 9322 if u can call me if this is possible.. The young lady who assisted me was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I had Never rented a storage unit before. I had Many questions which she knew all the answers. The unit itself was clean. I did see a rat container thingy to capture rodents as soon as I stepped in the unit. It definitely wasn't something I expected. But I guess I should be glad they have it. I made my reservation almost a month ago and when I arrived at the location, I was first informed the computers were down and I had to wait roughly one hour for them to come back up. When they finally came back up I was informed by the shift manager, there were no storage units available. I attempted to contact the store manager, but had no response. I next tried to contacted the GM from my cell a couple times to hopefully have the issue resolved, but no luck. I next attempted to call the GM from the store phone and she answered. I explained to her my situation, and she informed me she would make a call to the manager on shift, but never did. The GM was no help at all and never contacted me back to give me an update. Luckily one of the gentleman at the store noticed how frustrated I was because I was waiting for an hour for the computers to come back up and to then be informed there was no storage available. I also had a trailer to return and limited time and he luckily found me another storage unit. This was by far the worst UHAUL experience yet. There were a couple of issues with my reservation. I booked the 1st week of July. However, when I arrived for my check-in I was told the storage unit I booked wasn't available. The unit I was given in replacement was smaller then I booked. At the end of the day I was still able to fit my things miraculously. The store was able to rectify the situation at the end of the day as well. It is far too difficult for me to climb stairs with heavy items in a non-climate controlled unit. That is my fault for agreeing to a first available unit on the second floor. Although the staff was helpful, the situation was a disaster. I made a reservation on line for the biggest storage unit and when I got there the storage unit I reserved was already occupied. This caused me to have to get a smaller unit which makes my life more hectic than it already is, due to having to pull everything out each time I want something out of the unit. Not only that every time I book something with Uhaul the name that shows up on my reservation which is not my name but it is all my information every time the staff has to go in and fix it so it can reflect my name. It would seem as though it could be permanently fixed by now but it is not.leisan t. | First Impressions

I was giving the wrong unit twice, both in which I moved in and had to move out within a hour. Then I was told to go to another location. When I tried to leave my gate code didn't work. When I finally got out of the gate and arrived at the next facility, my coffee didn't work to get into the facility. By this time the physical office had closed, so I was forced to keep the Uhaul over night because I did not have access to a storage unit.CHERRELLE V. | First Impressions
