John L.I chose U-Haul for this shipment over a competitor that I'd used many times before. I will not make that mistake again. There is a reason that this experience was cheaper. The number of times that we were contacted to repeatedly provide information that we'd previously provided was absolutely ridiculous: phone numbers, email addresses, shipment information, you name it. Then, when we were ready to receive the containers at our rented storage facility, new headaches arose. Despite having provided delivery location instructions, the containers were not placed anywhere near the storage facility, rather on the complete opposite side of the parking lot, nearly 1/4 mile away. Then, when we went to open the wooden container, we found angle brackets that were installed after the container was picked up in CO, and that should have been removed prior to delivery in PA. That required an unexpected trip to a hardware store to purchase screwdrivers to remove the angle brackets so the container could then be opened. That just served to further delay unpacking efforts on an abysmally hot day. We attempted to contact the Pittsburgh office, to see if they had a truck that could move the containers closer but, being a Sunday, that wasn't an option.

I was not notified that the location that I choose did not have a truck available. He told me that I was at the Westview location not his. When we went to westview they were very nice and explained what happened, they apologized and got us out of there very quick. Great customer service at this location

eric J.Truck late night pick up took an extended time and the battery died and didn't respond to a jump start necessitating a tow company to come out. They're only saving Grace with your customer service. The woman that I spoke to for an hour while waiting for the system to work itself out was humorous and delightful. And Robbins customer service at U Haul West View was thorough, considerate and reassuring.

Abdul R.I just want to write to say that my experience with doing a mobile pick up/return of my truck was incredibly difficult. It took over a hour to try to get logged on to even pick up the keys. The directions were vague and there was no other option presented to me if I couldn't do it through the mobile app. When we finally got in the van, there was no furniture pads (which I paid for) and the van smelled as if livestock was moved in it. Now the brand new couch I picked up smells of barn yard. Upon returning the truck, it would not accept my mileage picture, because of this I couldn't continue with return. I just placed the keys in the lock box and left. When I tried to call U-Haul of the west view plaza location this morning, I was put on hold for 20 minutes. I will never be using U-Haul again. The customer service is non-existent and the instructions were not clear to me. I would love to talk to a manager to help me get a refund. Please help me resolve this issue as soon as possible.

He even noticed that the fuel level that was in my contract didn't match the actual truck so he got a new one printed out for me. Very friendly, professional and I would absolutely go back to them if I need another U-haul truck in Pittsburgh.
Nicholas H.Check on the vehicle better. The inside of the truck smelled of pet urine. I didn't notice at first because it was given to me with the air conditioning running. I notice the next day after the truck had sat all night. The smell was awful. There is no excuse for using the truck in this condition.

The keys were inside the location, but there was absolutely no one in sight to give me the keys, answer questions, etc. Anyone could have walked in and taken anything they wanted. Also, the dropbox location and procedure were unclear but we figured it out.

David O.Put more than a 1/4 tank of fuel in the vehicle. i ended up donating $100.00 in fuel because I filled the tank for $150.00 and only used about a quarter tank. Had it been full when I picked it up or even 3/4 I would have literally, saved $100.00. Cynically, I wonder if U-Haul does this on purpose.

I was told that I would be contacted and never was. I was told information that was inaccurate. I was told I would receive a call back and did not. I was flatly told inaccurate information and it made it very frustrating to need to follow up so consistently to make sure all was well for us. Moving is stressful and this added to that stress.
Brittan E.Your representatives apparently are not completely trained in your procedures. When we came to make the reservation for a 15 ft truck we were told we could have the truck until 2:00 because it had to go back out at 2:30. A week later when we arrived to pick up the truck we were Told it had to be back by 12 noon. That made it extremely difficult for us to get everything moved and ended up having to leave stuff because we ran out of time. I tried to call and got the dispatch and they couldn't do anything for me and she left a message for the store manager to call me and he never called. I will never go to this west view location again. And I know have to try to get the rest of my stuff. ¡Gracias!

Joan M. | First ImpressionsLengthy process to check-in... ended up needing counter help due to long wait and lack of communication with online representative and return was even more lengthy and frustrating... was told in advance to "just park it in the return area and put the keys in the dropbox", but then ended up needing multiple pictures and information from vehicle which was no longer accessible without keys to turn on dashboard indicators. This should have been clearly advised IN ADVANCE, perhaps when checking in, to save time and frustration. Specific steps for arrival and entering storage area- entering code to disarm, opening/closing garage, breaking temporary 'lock' (zip-tie), entering code when leaving, etc... should be posted in garage area. Some things have instructions but nowhere could I find a complete checklist of what all I was supposed to do. **Also, the speed-bump in parking lot is unusually high and scraped the underside edge of passenger side/door area. Who should I contact regarding damages?? I was advised inside by employee that U-haul installed that.
Ingrid P. | Online Move InI swapped out my unit for one closer to the loading bay. When I went to move in my code did not work. I tried using the call button on the alarm unit. It went to customer service instead of the office. It was pouring rain so I opted to walk through the facility to go back to the office. I went to exit through loading bay 1 & 2. I didn't notice but I'm guessing the roof leaks. I slipped and fell injuring my knee and back. At no time did the motion lights come on. I got up and proceeded to the office. I told them what happened and they didn't seem to concerned about it. I asked about my unit code not working and it turns out the order was never completed. So they redid the order and I was on my way. I went back later in the evening to unload and items. And my lock that I was given from the office wouldn't unlock. It was seized up and the key snapped off. So now. I can't get access to the items in my unit or put others in the unit.

Contractors were painting the pavement and refused entry to our unit tho NOTHING was mentioned the previous day when reserving a truck for the specific purpose of cleaning it out! We moved the cones to gain entry and empty my unit. The girls were being bombarded with complaints and I get that, but neither should be in the customer service industry with how they talked about the customers when they walked away irate...can't take the heat, get outta the kitchen...poor company representation from the get go Saturday...tho I cannot say 1 bad thing about Josh who always went above and beyond...especially while I was having banking issues and was late 2 months...aside from Saturday, my experience was pleasant. I told them I drove all the way from Pittsburgh and needed a truck to pickup furniture. I finally got a 10 ft truck a hour later. I was late for my pickup for the furniture and almost missed the pickup, That made the trip very aggravating. But I must say the manager Amy helped me with the situation of the trip.She was very nice to work with.

So I had to lug equipment down 2 flights of stairs and woke my kids and neighbors. The person that checked me into the facility took me to the computer and personally set me up for 24 hour access.

karen s. | First Impressionsi was very impressed with josh at west view, pa storage..very helpful,clean facility,and was very respectful, and could tell he understood my needs..although i made reservations a month in advance for a 20 foot uhaul and a trailer to pull my car 1400 mile from austin to pittsburgh..i was told to come to rundberg austin texas location to pick up truck and trailer, and then was told i needed to go 30 miles out of my wayto pick up vehicle, which set us back 6 hrs, so turned out i had to stay an extra night in a hotel..and the person i spoke to at rundberg austin was not polite, and i almost lost my kool on him, but remained calm..don't know if i will use uhaul againfor transporting any of my items..storage on the other hand yes will continue to use uhaul store at west view pa location..i was told by customer service that i would be compensated for my incovience, but never heard back from anyone..thank you
