My experience with the North Lansing U Haul was phenomenal! Staff is exceptional with their help, would definitely recommend and use again!

STEFAN EWhat you would expect from a U-Haul location, trailer rolled fine although the trailer brakes didn't work. You absolutely cannot rent a trailer unless they call a number on the spot for. 5 second call and that person has to answer or they won't let you rent. So if you're a little light on friends and family that can answer the phone during business hours be sure to plan that out.

KELLER WThe Manager Quintas Nelson was very professional during our interaction, However an issue came to light I had never encountered during my decades of using the Uhaul Brand, I was in need of a 5x8 enclosed for a 24hr rental, My wife was in spinal surgery that day, ie last time renting, I had made a reservation as always, this time for a 1:30pm pickup, My Wife was to be picked up from Sparrow Hospital approximately 2:30pm, I arrived at the N. East Uhaul Lansing Mich, at 1:15pm, upon checking in I was told by Quintas that he must contact my alternate contact to verify something, to my surprise I had never encountered this ever, I explained that my Wife was in Surgery and wouldn't be able to answer, he tried and it went to voicemail, she had called a short time earlier to my cell, I showed Quintas that the number she called from match the alternate number, He outright refused to rent the trailer to me, even in light of my rental history, I ask why?, what's the issue ?, he explained that they have three working zip-codes in which they could rent to, I explained that the building directly to the south of the N. East location was my business front for ten years and that I had gotten comfortable using the N.East location, He refused to rent to me, the most absurd encounter ever, meanwhile my Wife's pickup looms, I demanded Corporate numbers, I call the President of Mid-Michigan Uhaul - Melissa Pearl - 517-285-6304, I explained the dilemma, She was very helpful, She call Quintas and took care of the situation, Thank you, Melissa, I can only assume that the zip code area of operation is to force Uhaul Customers to a location nearest them to be equally fair to all Uhaul vendors in the area, I understand the policy, however I do not agree with the policy of calling an alternate contact to verify what?, I felt like a criminal of sorts, I have a long rental history, I felt like Quintas had the authority to use discretion when dealing with such minor issues, and if not, he should, I was very late picking up my Wife after Spinal Surgery, Would I recommend Uhaul??

MARTHA AInspection of the vehicle was poor. I drove the U-Haul off the lot and returned in minutes due to bad windshield wipers. So, poor inspection and no resolution or compensation. I will never return to this location.

DANIEL BUpon return attendant said 2 of the 4 pics I took at origin didn't exist. He also claimed I said I didn't know how damage happened. I said the damage was shown on the origin pictures. There were over $1K in claims from this location none of which I did. Fraud. Beware.

LARRY CPick up on a Saturday can be a bit crazy, no fault of the associates but my pick up was 1 hour late due to issues with customers before me I’d still use this uhaul they did a great job
HELEN MIncredibly friendly and helpful staff. The new procedure for verifying your emergency contact is arduous, but he was kind to my mom when she finally picked up (even she won't answer calls from an unknown number anymore). Same goes for being required to take your own selfie and pictures of your drivers license (turn off your content blockers or U-Haul's site won't work) but he was patient about it. All in all, still a better deal than paying someone else to move large items 3-4 times per year when you don't own a truck.
BLAIR JIf you do the online registration it would be great to be able to just come in and pick up the truck instead of waiting in line for people who did not register ahead. Otherwise it is a pretty seamless process with good service people.
BENJAMIN GSide comment about company. They asked me to tow a trailer. It sounded like they were crediting 100 miles. No they gave an additional 100 miles. Well when going from point A To B I was never going to drive an additional 100 miles. I paid for a few more miles than I drove. In future I will not help the company and haul an empty trailer for them. The 50. Credit was not worth it. I'm sure it cost more in gas to haul it AND I had to drive slower than speed limit because of the trailer on the highway with traffic.
Rose MI rented a furniture dolly, a hand cart, and 6 blankets. I was asked to provide 2 references, one of which was called, to see if I could/should rent these items. I almost walked out. I will probably not rent from UHAUL again.
Ryan CJesse did an excellent job making sure I was in and out as quickly as possible. I have had previous experience with this particular location and Jesse always makes it as pleasant as possible. The main reason I keep returning to this site is because of him.

David R | Overall ExperienceThe storage Facility was fine but there has been so much confusion on the fact we did not receive the free month promotion after renting a one-way truck. They keep saying they will refund a month of the storage unit and it never happens. We have asked about it on 3 separate occasions. We are trying once again to get refunded for one of the months we were charged. There is also never enough assistance in the office, it is usually one person and you have to wait a while to receive help. The staff is helpful but it takes awhile to receive assistance.

David R | First ImpressionsMy storage unit was broken into $3,000 of wheels and tires got stolen out of it and no one wanted to do anything about it no one wanted to answer questions then I stopped my storage unit and that was November of 23 and all of a sudden I understand that I have the storage unit until 7:00 or 24 one person told me to come and get my belongings next person I could not get a hold of anybody called corporate kept on calling the U-Haul on North Street no return phone calls..... and I was getting the runaround and I called corporate and corporate would call U-Haul on North Street and said that they return my call No Such return. If you go back on the records you can see that I use U-Haul for several things I rent numerous times car dollies car trailers trailers and Storage and I am not happy at all and I would like someone to contact me. The driveway in front of my unit flooded regularly and made it hard to access the unit due to very muddy conditions, including move out day.

At some point I'm going to need something from inside my unit and I'm gonna have to have them drill out the lock turning a 5 min stop into an unexpected half hour or more

LINDA J | Overall ExperienceI've been in a long time U-Haul buyer I am using renting trucks from you guys I drove a truck from Florida and piggyback from Tampa to Clearwater Michigan had a little difficulty what's the tires it was a brand new truck they took me from Tampa to Georgia two days cause the tires One tire had a bad bleed and your balance is off balance .I call made A guy come out and change it he said your front end is off alignment I it from Middle of Georgia to Clearwater Michigan and one day and I had to go to Dewitt Michigan because your U-Haul place was on 27th in Lansing. You guys said you were going to reimburse me when I did that and August but I never got reimbursed for the trouble on sorrow but Use U-Haul.I asked the store person if I could deliver trucks to state to state she told me to go to grand Rapids I would love to do that I love driving my number is 239-293-5870
DUANE G | Overall ExperienceI tented a storage unit and truck bcuz I had 24 hours to get my belongings from my current residence. I paid for the storage specifically ask the gentleman before I left if the storage would be unlocked before I got back because U-Haul lock was on it and he said yes he would take care of that. This was 2 hours before they close I come back with a whole entire load out of my house and the lock was still on it oh, they were already closed oh, so I couldn't drop my belongings off to go back and get the rest of my things. The next morning I waited over 3 hours just to find out that this door is rented was already rented and it took me another two hours to find a new storage. Why I got a new storage I do not know because I lost all my belongings because I didn't get them out of my current residence in enough time. So out of my entire house all I got was the things from the shed. And I also only got a refund for the storage unit. Considering I had to pay for the moving truck but yet didn't get to use it because I had nowhere to put my things. He don't have to worry about that now cuz they're all gone, thanks again U-Haul
DANIAL J | Overall ExperienceMy only complaint is that the door on my unit tended to get stuck. But any time I couldn't open it myself the staff were more than willing to help me out. So overall it wasn't a detriment, just a slight annoyance.

I tried branch employees....national call center...and going through your Facebook page....I get no solutions just empty promises and ME having to constantly call cause no one apparently is interested in service.

We paid for 24 hour access, never did we pay late and the general manager would put the extra lock on our unit so we couldn't get into when we wanted. We would ask the young man that was working and he had no idea why the extra lock. Also when we took our storage elsewhere there was mold all over all my stuff and the floor was wet. Destroyed alot of my antique furniture Destroyed. I will never recommend this place for storage units.
