Absolutely awful experience, we will never use U-Haul again for any of our needs. The U-Haul location in Long Island, New York dropped off our U-Box at 5pm on "loading day", when the day was almost over. No call and no follow-up email on delivery time. Then when it came time for final delivery in Colorado, U-Box scheduling arbitrarily changed the delivery date to the next day, even though we provided our delivery date with address, photo and placement instructions a month and a half in advance. If U-Haul can't do what they agreed to in the contract with us, then why have an online reservation system with delivery scheduling details? The worst part of it is when you try to get ahold of either regional U-Box office doing the U-Box drop-off and pick-up, as well as their scheduling department, you can't get ahold of them because their phone number routes you to the 1-800 customer service queue, and half the time it hangs up on you. If you do get ahold of someone, you'll get passed off to many different people. Ultimately, U-Haul doesn't stick to its contractual obligations. I'll be reaching out to U-Haul HQ in Phoenix to report the idiots in scheduling who refused to fix the problem. I will never recommend U-Haul U-Box as a moving solution and if anyone asks, I'll let them know how awful this experience was. Kim and Anna in U-Haul U-Box refused to reverse the delivery reschedule they applied without me knowing about it. A complete customer service failure!Eric W.

The local U Haul mangers were excellent . Daniel Dello Ioio of Medford NY and Devon Goode of Cumming Ga made this move a pleasure. They went beyond the norm to arrange the pickup and delivery of my items. The moving personnel were professional courteous and on time. The call centers are very hard to deal with and created a lot of frustration. Long wait time for calls to be answered and when you finally get thru the information provided was often inaccurate or of no use to resolve problems. It was my connection to the local managers that resolved the issues at hand. I would suggest you reevaluate the operation of you call centersSimon R.

The morning of delivery on August 5, 2021 it was over two hours late. and the evening of august 12, 2021 we were told between 3-5pm for pick up. it was not picked up until 730pm. We did not receive any notification about either delay. Also when ever trying to get ahold of a person to speak with after six rings it would redirect to the website and ask us for a call back. there was only one person that actually knew anything about thew ubox dealings there. Very unprofessional. and the payments from the medford branch were done overnight not during normal hours. Also the payment was taken two days after actual due date. Upon arriving at our final destination the people at uhaul in north carolina were knowledgeable. Payment was done on phone with us not overnight the day that payment was due. The shipment arrived intact, in the same condition as it was loaded. The only complaint I have is the long shipment time. Please learn to communicate. This whole experience was a fiasco. It started with my reservation for a self delivery being denied because no Uhauls in the area had at ubox trailer like I specifically ordered, and I was not informed, so I tried to pick it up. Then my box was delivered to a different address in the area and I wasn't informed. It also wasn't updated that it was elsewhere, so I called ahead and the location it was supposed to be at said "sure come down and pick it up", only to get there and find out it was at a location open from 9-4, not helpful. I had further issues tracking down where it was and trying to pick it up from the other location. Finally I got my box and the person instructed to attach it to my car was clueless, caused me to hit my bumper into the trailer with poor instructions, and then didn't tighten it enough so it was very jiggly until I fixed it later. I returned my box on the last day of my month rental, but my box didn't get checked in for an additional 2 days so I got billed for another full month of rent and it doesn't appear like there is any intent to reimburse me for what should be the whole month but even for most of the partial month that your records indicate I am not renting the box. Needless to say I will not be using or recommending uhaul again unless they can promise me they've gotten their act together.Garrett W.

The A/C only worked on defrost only which did nothing. It was 95 degrees today. The truck was older with high mileage and basically not a comfortable trip. Also I was not able to return the truck to the location that I selected. This made me drive two and a half hours in traffic to return the truck to Medford NY instead of 15 minutes to the location Woodside NY that I booked when I ordered online. The process couldn't have been easier. I reserved a cargo van on line, picked it up at 8am and returned it the next morning. They have great hours, lots of vehicles and a clean store to purchase supplies. Dan, the manager, was polite, helpful and even gave me a credit for the extra gas I left in the tank. When i went to close out my storage unit i had the front desk girl hit on my boyfriend to my face and also my account was never closed out. I stayed there an hour waiting for her to tell me everything was taken care of only to find out 6 months later I'm still being charged for this nonsense. Horrible experience. U hauls` phone system is terrible, in that there are too many prompts, and when you finally get to where you might talk to a real person there is a 20 minute queue. When I tried to phone the actual Uhaul locations, it would transfer me back to the same series of prompts and 20 minute queue.JOHN L.

The workers who installed the hitch were friendly and courteous. However, the whole process was way below average! I set my appointment with a week and a half lag time. The day before the installation, I was notified that the part had not arrived in that time frame which is surprising. It took an additional 3 weeks for the hitch to finally be installed. So a month total although my credit card had already been charged. Additionally, I set the original appointment for a Saturday so I could work around my work schedule. I had the installation done on a Monday which was inconvenient due to the fact that I was tired of waiting. Like I said, the workers at the facility were very accommodating but the process leaves much to be desired. I feel a reputable company like U Hal can do better.Joel K.
My shipment was 10 days late!! Pretty ridiculous delay. In driving the same distance, we left a week later and arrived 2 weeks earlier. The 6 week timeline was ridiculous. Additionally, during this delay, I was charged for storage due to the delay on Uhaul's end! This charge should not apply, as there was nothing I could do to prevent the delay. When calling for customer service, it takes at least half an hour and generally more to speak to a representative. When I finally got in touch with a rep, They could not even tell me where my box was located. I thought it was lost!Henry M.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with U-Haul for the experience with getting these boxes delivered. After my move when I was waiting for the U-boxes, everyday for a week, I waited and waited on the phone trying to speak to a representative who just bounced me to other people, to just be sent to a voicemail and never called back when trying to get the time frame my box would be delivered so that I could coordinate with the movers I bought through your website. I was never called back, and had to repeat this process over and over, to then be told the boxes couldn't be delivered that day, to that they could, and back and forth. The boxes were finally delivered on a trailer and were bolted shut so I could not open them without finding someone who had the tools to do so. I live in an apartment complex - and could only have the units parked for a day, but I got a call asking to leave the boxes another day, and not having a choice I agreed since no one could pick them up. And then the next day they were still not picked up, and nothing the day after. So after finally thinking I was out of the U-haul phone call level of hell, I had to call again, be on hold for a significant time to once again, for someone to give me another number to call, for that person to say they would call me back. After hours of this the boxes were luckily picked up. But then I got contracts that said I owed hundreds of dollars more (I already paid in full) with no detailing in the invoice. And as I write this, I have been waiting on hold for an additional 30 minutes and am working to resolve this. Honestly - the product (U-Boxes) is good, and the people were trying their best - but the communication was not there and this process has been anxiety inducing, and overall just horrible - which is not something customers who are already going through a stressful move need. Paying over $2,000 to be strung along, not get answers, and be this stressed for a move was horrible and I don't think I would ever use U-Haul Again. I am not one to ever complain, but this experience has been a nightmare. I'd be happy to speak more with a representative about this experience (718-702-0648). Again, everyone I spoke with was very kind (when I could finally get someone on the phone) and I know everyone is doing their jobs and trying their best, but the organization between the people actually dropping off the boxes and communication just wasn't there.SOPHIA A.

After a long day of storage unit searches that left me quite unhappy-I was pleasantly surprised by the lower price and MUCH better quality I saw at this storage site compared to others in the area. The facility is very clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I used them in the past and was pleased to see that they now have indoor climate controlled storage units for rent. It's really convenient to be able rent trucks, purchase moving supplies, and rent storage space all in one spot. The bonus is also using a brand new facility.
