VICKIE FThis location was not the closest U-Haul location to where I moved too. So I had to deliver the truck 15 miles and 25 minutes away from the location nearest to me. Plus pay for the additional mileage on the pick up and drop off. Truck ran fine.

Summer VEmployees need to put the correct fuel on check out. I had a 15ft truck that I used for less ten miles. I missed the fuel level at the beginning of the check out process on app. I went with the employee that said it was at F. When I returned it, I was told that I needed to fill up to F. I went 10 miles, I put a gallon of fuel in before I returned it. Since the check in person did said I needed it back at F. So, I put 2 1/2 more gallons in to get it to F. Employees need to put the correct fuel level, so issues like this don’t arise. The truck was parked, no idling, all the time I was not driving it. It doesn’t take 3 1/2 gallons to go 10 miles.

Suxa Y24 he, more secure access would be better. Menards West feels like a better experience. Garage entry doors never work properly or at all. Any one can walk in or out. Staff needs better training. Manager is awesome. Prices are high, I will be looking elsewhere.
ANGELA C | First ImpressionsI was extremely disappointed that the assistant manager did not work with me on either a credit or a reduced mileage as I brought the truck back with a half tank of gas versus less than an eighth when picked up. U-Haul has a way to track how it was picked up and how it was returned. And without receiving a credit or a discount on my credit card I feel you all stole from me.
Jackie BOne notable concern we had was that we were not notified when our containers were picked up. We knew the time frame that they were scheduled to be picked up but we were surprised when we looked out our window and saw they were gone. Something that might help this issue is having the driver call or send a text just after picking them up, or when the pickup receipt is sent add a note saying specifically when they were picked up. This would provide a comforting confirmation that the containers were picked up by U-Haul. Secondly, I missed on the U-Box information page where it mentioned furniture pads are included. We were surprised, and didn't fully account for the space they'd take up. It also seemed like we had way more 24 per container, as listed inside the U-Box.

And we wanted to return one stupid measly box that we didn't use and you wouldn't take it back because we didn't have a receipt. It was one stupid box that was clearly bought at a U-Haul location because it was stamped all over the damn box and the receipt was in the shuffle of all the moving that we dealt with over four shitty days moving so yeah you could have just cut us a break on a $2 freaking box. I won't recommend your location to anyone.

Alicia D | First ImpressionsI rented the storage unit in September of last year and I haven't been back to it or to get into it and I put my own lock on it not knowing that the U-Haul lock that I used to move with your vehicle U-Haul truck was supposed to go on it so up till last month I had my own lock on it and I guess they put the lock on from your facility and they've lost the key when I came in last week Saturday and they said wait till Monday and they still didn't have the key and I had to stay extra days until I got able to get into my storage unit which two of the workers there told me that I could break the lock cuz I could not find the key so I didn't I wasn't able to go back to work or anything because of the simple fact that I had to sit and wait to see if they're going to find the key Monday came they didn't find the key Wednesday came they didn't find the key so I took it upon myself to break the lock the lock on break so I cut the little hole where the lock is I'm not in there and I took the lock off when I got my stuff out and it is so hot in there it's not a storage unit that is cold warm it's just pure hot 3 hours it took me to cut through the steel with the little clippers I had and I love some of my stuff that I didn't want in there of the simple fact I was too tired from cutting the lock and too tired from being sweating and it's not a 24-hour storage unit I got locked out after I want to take the first load at 1:00 in the morning when I left so overall I've still recommended but I don't recommend putting a lock on a storage unit even if the fact that it wasn't yours and I had to sit there and waste for extra days out of my time thank you

Once this was discovered the Faux pas on the size of my unit my brother contacted I believe the owner and it was fixed by getting a 10x10 unit which costs more but truthfully the room was needed so I appreciate the quick fix for me and will continue to do business with my local U-Haul dealer. Betty C | Online Move InUnit was offered to me as a "5x10," I didn't realize that this meant 5x5x10, as in a 5x5 unit that you can go 10 feet high in. I got a late fee and nasty gram from you even though I thought I had ser up automatic withdrawals for those. A friendly reminder prior to tacking on a late fee the very first month would be much more customer friendly, but I've come to the sad conclusion that uhaul does not care, even a little bit, about their customers. Between the storage issues, problems with my Uboxes and don't get me started on "Moving helpers," it's quite obvious that uhaul has designed their systems and policies to extract as much money out of customers as possible while providing customers as little as possible. I get it, it's capitalism, that is the function of business, provide shareholders with the greatest profit margin possible. When that margin comes at the cost of your customers though, eventually your business will topple. As I've said to others from uhaul along the way, I hope that you and yours live long and interesting lives. You've certainly added enough stress to mine.

Lori A | First ImpressionsDidn't like the location of my units. Way in the back!!! I was told there was not a unit closer to the door because the back had to be filled first. I then seen other customers be given a closer unit. The young guy insulted my intelligence, and said they had to fill the back location first, unless you were a senior citizen. Yeah sure!!!! That's why I read first come first serve! Thats why I investigated and many were not as far as me. I was the only one back there by my units at the time, and knew that was a lie. I seen many other units in the front filled with locks. My first unit was closer! There was no one by my unit, until a year later. I believe my skin color had something to do with it (Native American, Spanish, and AfricanAmerican). No I am not throwing out a race card, just my experience, where in Chippewa Falls, WI racism is the norm. I left because of the unfair treatment of my kind of people or being black. I was use to the treatment, which one should never get use to but didn't care for it. This incident did make me think about unfair treatment more often at times toward my people: I felt like those on the (the back of the bus, black only restaurants, and unfair minority ordeals for my blacks ancestors and other cultures, how they must of felt...and It effects me still!). I started to wonder if all Caucasian are starting to be like this, until I moved to Chicago and met wonderful people. Also I paid the young blonde head guy, cash for the first month storage (to be 2 months ahead), but Paul the manager said, the young man did not applied it to my account. The young man, put I had used my free month storage payment instead. This only put me a month ahead. That was not the case and I have no reason to lie! I also had proof (of a person standing there). Paul told me that with it being cash, I wasn't able to provide proof, so I lost money. And this could have cost me my storage unit, which my entire household was in. So I was not a happy camper. From then on, I always paid my bill very early and got a receipt right away, paid with the same card. I am out of $154.00. I believe its because my skin color once again which is sad. But These two issues were the only problems I had and because I used cash and didn't get a receipt at the time, it's just unfortunate experience of my movin on my end. I learned to cover your investments any way necessary.. Well, at least I can say; after the incident, the next 3 yrs of service there was great. The rest of the staff were great. Paul is great manager and goes way beyond to help customers resolve issues, even though he couldn't resolve mine! I never seen that guy who took my money again. If it wasn't for my move in issue. I would have rated 5 star given you excellent review. That is why, I only gave it 2 stars. This location was great other than my move in day (with the too far unit issue 1475/1477, and lost of money). I would most definitely recommend it. I also want to thank your customer service. They do a great job

Units are smaller than advertised and one unit has a column in the corner that further reduces the use of the space. Side wall supports further reduce space.

I called the phone number and after a 30 minute hold I paid online and tried to set up autopay, it was confirmed I thought. I therefore go Oreo the July bill as I thought I had auto pay. When I got. A late notice with a 40$ late fee. I called again and after a 22 minute hold got to a person who said he put me on auto pay and charge me 149$ for the two units. He said he didn’t have the authority to waive the late fee. Said he would transfer me directly to someone who could. I was placed right back in to the call in line and a projected 26 min hold. I hung up . This morning I was charged the 40$ with no explanation.The phone system is awful and answered by people with no authority. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

Keeping the building at max 85 degrees is a little too warm in the summer (we were sweating buckets when the building was at 80). Overall though, I really like this facility. However, I arrived at the Lake Hallie location at 10:15 one night to find the doors locked and my access denied. I was moving my things from Eau Claire, so this was very inconvenient for me to have to drive back with all of my things and wait until the next day to unload. Upon further investigation, I did find the correct access hours online at the very bottom, but I am frustrated that the information online was inconsistent with information in the email.

I reserved a spot online for Eau Claire weeks ago, drive there to find that all units were sold. I had to drive 30 min out of our way for this. The guy in Eau Claire was kind and patient with my rant. This is awful for uhaul to put this extremely poor service on the backs of your workers. I will never again rent from uhaul for storage

I was able to gain access to the storage areas and my unit without entering my personal key code. There was no lock in my unit as explained in the instructions, making me go back and forth to the office. I had to go to the office 3 times to complete my initial access to my unit. Staff was not as friendly or helpful as I expected.

Donna V | First ImpressionsWhile the facility and staff were wonderful at Chippewa Falls Location, U-Haul policy and impersonal customer service on a company level will have us never recommending or using their services again. We rented a unit for our college student, paid a year in advance, needed the unit until June 1st, and per policy had to pay the entire month of June, no prorating. $45 for one day. If storage is needed at a later date, we will for sure look for a company that values their costumers hard earned dollar and loyalty.
