I have been at this location twice. Once to drop off and this weekend to rent and return. Dropping off the equipment in November of 2020 took over an hour because I was over charged and the associates could not figure out how to credit my card. This weekend I was given the wrong truck and had to do the transaction twice. Now my card has two charges I am hoping I don't have to battle to get a credit. I was told a credit was issued. The truck was absolutely crap. I run an auto shop and would have a list of problems with the truck. The engine was lacking power which caused more use in fuel. There was a death wobble at 63 mph. You hit a bump and the truck banged and clanged then wobbled. The truck said smooth ride... there is nothing smooth about it. Felt like the shocks were completely gone. Tried calling the help number to report it... 63 minute wait. I ain't got time for that. Felt like the truck was going to leave me stranded everytime I got in it. And I left a comment on the last review I got and it said someone would contact me. Hasn't happened.William M.

The person who took care of me after a horrible start. I did the phone check in. It didn't recognize my location ( my location was on) after about 30 minutes it finally recognized me. Get my key and the truck is dead. After Another 45 minutes on hold I was told to go down the road to a different facility which I was taken care of. Spurlocks UHaul gives you a bad name. I'll make sure I'll never rent from that place. And I'll direct anybody else to stay away from that one. The one I rented from was clean, and was willing to help in anyway.william K.
The staff member I worked with was a huge help. I needed to upgrade to a larger unit before moving in and he did that with no issues. Walked me through everything including the security system, which I would not have figured out on my own. He even helped me get some of my larger furniture out of the truck and onto a dolly, which he did not have to do but it was a huge help. He went above and beyond. I rented my uhaul and did the truck share option to pick up entirely with my cellphone. After completing process the website tells me to head inside and "skip the line" to get my keys and go to the side of the counter. The lady inside was very ruse when I did so and told me i still had to wait i line. When she finally decided to give the keys she rolled her eyes at me. There are plwntt of other places to rent a box truck. I will be using them and not returning to uhaul.Noelle V.

The guy who helped me rent the truck was very friendly and helpful. It took maybe 10 minutes from walking in without a reservation and walking out with the key. I like the mobile check in and out. My only complaint would be refueling before returning it. I wish you would rent it to me topped off. That way I can just fill it up before I return it rather than guess how much gas I used, hope I didn't give Uhaul free gas, hope they eyeball the gas gauge fairly, and so on.DANIEL M.

When I registered online it asked me how many miles ..I put in 150. I get the truck and the counter person states it has a quarter of a tank it must be returned with that. I said a quarter? So my first thing I have to do is go to a gas station. I was upset. Besides that , the quarter of a tank was more like "just above empty ".SHAWN H.

Be one time with the dates that you provide when making a reservation. I reserved a U-box and it arrived at my house 2 days late and then arrived at my new house 1 day late. Make sure. That the tires are inflated. Proper air pressure. It's clean. It got terrible gas mileage. It had exaaust leak from the manifold and the lack of power and gas mileage. There was something wrong. The steering was so sloppy on it. Just the draft of other cars going by you made you swerve and the steering will was turned right while going straight. I took the keys back and tried to get another truck a new one. Told guy about the exhaust leak. He did a typical answer that they all make noice do to the ramp in that. Didn't listen or try help his customer. You had 20 other trucks not the one from another decade. I won't ever use uhaul again. I given enough chances.JACOB K.

Maybe get a automated trailer parker similar to what stores use to get grocery carts. Customers would be able to park at a drop off area. This will aid in getting trailers put where you want them when dealing with drivers that aren't expert trailer backer uppers...Steven F.

This the worst uhaul I've ever dealt with. I will probably never use this ever again. Was told I would get my 100 dollar cash deposit back after we returned the truck that was a lie. And the truck was returned exactly how it was received I even put more gas in than they put. Told me when I returned the truck I went 44 miles that was a lie. Mileage kept running even while the truck sat in my driveway warming up. I don't know what kind of business you are running but I am very displeased in the service. As for the deposit I never received back I hope someone is happy about their tiny bonus.COURTNEY H.

Had a very poor interaction with an Employee named Petra via the self-check in app. We had some complications with our reservation and she didn't seem too invested in helping us; then she hung up on my wife. The process was not very streamlined and it would have been quite a bit easier if I had just gone inside. I also submitted drivers license and other information a week or so before my reservation date, and had to provide everything once again. Responding to a text from U-haul, I tried to check in the day before using my smart phone. When the website said I needed to upload photos of my driver's license, I took them. But then the web page would not let me upload them. When I touched the button to upload, it opened the camera app and wanted me to take the pictures again. I thought that was too inflexible, aborted the process, and checked in in person when I picked up the trailer. Suggestion: Change the online check-in so it allows the user to upload existing images.PHILLIP B.

Similar issues on drop off - I had specified a location for drop off, but when I went to my account, it said "call this number when you get to .... to finalize a drop off location - no way to access my previous choice - again needed to wait on hold to have somebody reassign drop off to the location (a large U-Haul facility) despite there being no drop off listed. All of the issues seem related to having no access to local numbers - otherwise, things went well. I'd suggest going to the location prior to pick up and setting it up vs online or by phoneCORY P.

When I got there I was told vehicle is at Full tank and to bring it back that way, however when I got into the truck and left I found it less than F, but they were closure time, so couldn't do anything about it. Now I am stuck returning it and paying out of pocket to fill it to more than what I got it. Also, half way to my destination the vehicle had engine light come on, freaked me and my family out, tried calling customer service and Road Side assistance with no success after being on hold for very long period of time. This is the worst experience I had with Uhaul, especially after I was asked to drive for two hours to pick up the rental, since it's closest one available.MOHAMED M.

Local u haul mgr stated i have a $160 balance bc I wasn't moved out before the 13th. U haul at no time can force renew. I chose not to renew and I should have no balance. If u haul deems a late fee of $15 is necessary, I will pay it, but I do not owe $160. Mgr was rude, and she issued a no trespass order on myself when she was the one in the wrong. I left because I could save $71 a month on a same-size unit. So I moved my things to Affordable Family Storage, right next door. Also, the ceiling above my unit dumped lots of little dirt and what looked like plaster chips on top of my furniture. The facility outside of my unit was clean, but the ceiling above my unit was not in good repair and left debris on my things. It wasn't so much that I'd move, but it was annoying. Yet when I learned I could have a better roof and save big $$$ each month, I bolted. Finally, I was told at the beginning of my stay with U-Haul, that we pay a month ahead, so imagine how disappointed I was at the end to learn you would not refund me my unused days after just paying rent through October 27th. I call that theft. As long as I live in Lafayette, I cannot recommend your facility to anyone. I am fully aware that eventually the rates will go up at my new unit. But until that time, I am saving $852 a year over what you charged. Since I am on a fixed income, THAT is a LOT of money!Pamela G. | Overall Experience
