Poorly ran organization, they do not inspect their vehicles. They gave a 10' truck with only one light working, I did not realize it until night fall! People honking at me, with their Beams on high because I was blinding upcoming traffic. I almost ended up in a ditch dead because I could not see a dead deer on the road. The truck smelled gasoline when I would put the AC on blast. I should have checked their reviews before doing business with them because they are all bad.Radjiv B.

Staff was very unhelpful. Walked in after having to do my reservation twice (once online which was cancelled by the location, and second over the phone on my way to the location). Upon arriving I told associate bout reservation to which he just started and shrugged his shoulders. It was not until I started to call the number that he decided to pull up my info. From the the transaction got worse. He kept miss meeting in information and making jokes about messing up. To them when I got the keys he walked me to the door pointed to the row trucks and said it's one of those. By the time I found it and started to do yall online Check our procedure they are already been done by the staff inside. Overall poor experience at the location and will not be reaching out to them again. The phone staff was very helpful though.James W.

I requested a 26 Foot truck from a location close to my home at 8:00 AM on Saturday for an 8-hour time period. I was called by a U-Haul rep informing me of the location change and time change. New location was farther from my home and the time was now at 08:45 AM. This ruined my schedule with the hired workers AND the return time was now 7 hours. I have been now penalized for being late returning the truck. Charged me an additional $39.95 for the two hours that I was "late".Jesus C.

The truck needs new windshield wiper blades badly. The lights in the bed of the truck did not work. We tried multiple times and never got them to work. The guy that waited on us told me the place I requested to return the truck was not an option on his screen, even though I told him exactly the name and location of the place. We have returned trucked there previously and was the most convenient for us, He said " I'll just put customer doesn't know where they want to return the truck on the contract" - and then I'll have to call before I can return it. So I called - waited on hold for 10 minutes and then the lady said i was good to go and had no idea why they couldn't find the location since it came right up in the system as I said it would.David F.

I rented a trailer to get from Los Angeles to Texas. It was 1490 miles and the rental was for 6 days. I made it in 3 total days and returned the trailer giving u-haul the ability to rent it out again 3 days early. You should at least consider giving a partial refund since if you rent it over the next 3 days, you are paid double for them. The price on the trailer was ridiculous.Leo M.

Placed reservations online. Things just add up as to process- familiar with U-Haul procedureâ€¦ just didn't click. There appeared to be other employees on property but there was no activity/service being performed. The employee that put the trailer on hit my truck the first attempt to connect on trailer hitch! Instead of using equipment available he lifted the trailer manually! Which appeared to be more than he was able to do re: first attempt hitting truck. He checked all lighted /connection etc for me to find the left rear light didn't work when we checked everything on return trip (then dark enough to need lights on). Asked this location's return requirements as to where to put trailer and where the equipment would be for trailer removal. He proceeded to tell me to bring muscle with meâ€¦ no equipment available! Thank goodness I knew what I was doing. Then when going in â€œagainâ€â€¦ as he apparently finish everythingâ€¦ no apology was made as to hitting my truckâ€¦ said he punched his hand/finger when putting trailer on! Really?!?!?!?!? For all the years I've used U-Haulâ€¦ for equipment and storageâ€¦ this was definitely a time I WAS NOT IMPRESSED!Elizabeth B.
I checked in online and simply needed to go in and get the supplies i ordered. Once at the counter, i was told i needed to redo everything on my reservation/contract. Drivers license, payment, identification verification etc. The process took about 30 minutes, of which i was paying for. The person at the counter spent about 5 minutes looking for the key because it was misplaced. They didn't add the blankets or dolly, as i had previously reserved. Shit show.Travis F.

Pros: Picking up the vehicle was fine. The female rep was very helpful at multi-tasking both in person and phone customers. Cons: Hire more employees. The drop off and in person closeout was horrible. After using the after hours instructions, I tried to confirm the final close out via phone the next morning. Male rep had myself (and many other customers) holding on the phone for which he never came back on the phone. I then had to come in person to ensure my ticket/contract was closed out.Paula D.

The agent asked how far I would be traveling. I answered maybe 10 miles away. The van rental was around 42.00. I drove the rental 16 miles there and back just to find out I would be charged 48.00 because I went 6 miles over predicted. I was bit informed at the rental that the mileage there and back. I was asked how far away I would be going, not how far there and back. In short the extra 6 miles cost more than the original rental. I would not recommend U-HAUL to anyone for this poor customer service and I will make sure all of Ft Hood knows about this with a recommendation not to use U-HAUL's services.Mitchel H.

Was given a truck with less than a quarter of tank of gas however, the paperwork provided at pick up, stated the truck had more than half a tank. U-Haul website needs to reflect the actual facility access hours. It closes at the same time as the office and cannot be entered after business hours. Extremely inconvenient if a customer needs access after coming over from work or while moving. Due to covid we have to wear masks. The staff was not wearing a mask. And they were eating... I brought it to their attention about the masks being necessary and they said " oh yea but" and continued eating.. Some 4 more customers came in without masks and they didnt tell them anything.
