The location was fine but when I called 1800 U-HAUL, I was told I could swap my box van for a larger one and then when I went to I was told it had to be swapped with the dolly I had also rented which I was not informed of over the fun. I couldn't return the dolly because I left in an hour away at my girlfriends house because we were loading her stuff. I had to waste almost four hours of my time and had to have my dad bring the dolly back because I was already halfway across the country. I was still charged for everything and was reimbursed for the lost time even though it wasn't my fault.JERAN H.

Check the latch mechanism on driver door. There's a safety issue with The driver side door would not close tight without slamming door hard. The hinges are possibly sprung or another issue that does not allow the door to close tightJAMES F.

It is ridiculous that if you are going one way you may have to travel 100 miles to pick up the equipment. Doing a one way move stops me from using uhaul simply for this reason. You are missing out on thousands of dollars per customer due to this policy.ALLYSA B.

Truck was clean inside, but it was a beater. It definitely wasn't running on all cylinders. It had no power even when empty and it sounded horrible. The A/C didn't work and the brakes were squeaking most of the time. I was pretty disappointed with the truck, but the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Rental and return was very easy and the price of a 3 day rental was very fair.NATHAN T.

Truck cabin was dirty, dirty water sitting in cup holders Driver side door hardly closed, air rushing in through door edges when driving because difficult to close Headlights work poorly, scared and dangerous driving conditions, cars wouldn't see us at night when merging lanes because headlights were so bad. We felt like we could not see the road at night more then a couple feet ahead of us because the headlights are so bad. Extremely bad experience.DANIEL K.

This location has nice and respectful workers and that is very much appreciated, but when calling or visiting most of the time the wait seems long. They didn't have an appliance dolly for my one way move and the truck, although had low mileage drove horribly. I appreciated getting a larger truck, an extra day and extra miles for the price of the smaller truck requested. Overall, I understand that everything can't be controlled, but a little more attention to detail and awareness goes a long way. I would still recommend this store.ANDRE T.

This is the 2nd time I've rented. Staff is super friendly, very efficient, and explains every detail involved in renting. I needed to use the night box to pickup truck this time. What a pain! The uhaul website was very hard to navigate, had a hard time pulling it up, the map to find the truck was hard to read. Way too many steps for a night time pick up. The truck we rented was nice expect the windshield was never cleaned inside or out, it was very hard to see at night and during day. I do realize you hit bugs while driving, and the trucks get rented quickly. But it was a gross film. That is my only complaint. And yes I will continue to rent from them.Kim B.

I made a reservation for pick near my house. But instead, I was informed at the last minute that reservations don't really mean that you will have a trailer. I had to drive 110 mile round trim at a very inconvenient time to pick up the trailer. I still don't know how that can happen.Keith M.

My truck return was logged in 2 days later than the return date causing my card to be put on a hold for more than 212.00 so after walking them through finding the keys in the returned truck I was charged 20.00 for fuel costs due to misinformation on the actual fuel amount.MAQUETA M.

Truck was clean but the steering is awful on the unit I drove. Lucky not to have an accident. The app for truck dropoff did not work and would not let me sign in, hence causing the $20 fee. The app worked fine at home but by then, the session had already expired and said my truck was dropped off and I was unable to complete the dropoff. The young lady who checked me in was great, very friendly and helpful and speedy. Check in was great, but I am disappointed in the app not letting me sign in causing the extra fee.Stephen D.

I returned it at 7:30 Saturday the 10th just wondering if I get any credit or notGEORGE S.
I rented the truck from Crete and the unit in Kankakee. The first unit didn't have a lock inside and the manager said she puts them in there "when she gets to it." The lock SHOULD have been there already, not when it's convenient for the manager. When I arrived the open sign was on at the office, but they were closed. We had to figure out the keypads on our own. The people that answer when the manager has her calls forwarded can help with nothing when called, all they do is apologize. The managers number is listed as an "emergency contact" on the keypad, but it gets forwarded to the "I'm sorry" crew. Horrible customer service! We walked away from the first unit and had to rerent the truck. The next morning I call the location and that's when I was told the lock is put there when convenient for her. She switched me to a different, larger unit that DIDNT HAVE 24 HOUR ACCESS. I found this out as I'm standing at the door at midnight with the people that helped me move the large furniture that was in the truck and am denied access to my unit, and when I call the emergency number I get the "I'm sorry" representatives. Now I have a truck full of heavy furniture that was supposed to be returned to the Crete location, that they had already booked out for another person the next morning at 10 AM, with no access to my unit and no way of getting my helpers back at 5 AM when they open. I am forced to carry over the truck into the next day, that messes up the next customers reservation, and I'm guessing by how helpful the customer service representative was (sarcasm) the email that she said she sent to the general manager probably didn't explain this whole situation. I am trying to move three children and all of our belongings and had very limited time with the people that were helping me move. "I'm sorry" is not what someone wants to hear when they're standing outside of a storage unit that was supposed to be 24 hour access with a house full of their belongings at midnight. I will be calling the location in the morning, as well as the Crete location to explain again what happened and to sort out what the charges will be due, considering all the extra mileage and day added because of these mistakes on U-Haul's part.Katherine R. | Online Move In

Manager Dana was very helpful in making sure we could still receive the month free. At time of move in, Steve was also extremely helpful with the way the facility works and locating our locker as well as the truck return.
