We were in and out of the location in less that 10 minutes, the staff and area were very efficient and clean and polite. I did ask about the increased charge and his answer was that the charges change daily. I was too tired to debate his response.and had already paid it with my credit card. If that was true and your system does not honor the quote that should be noted somewhere in BOLD.

Brian N.The windshield wipers on the truck were broken and as it was storming this resulted in us needing to stay in a hotel as we could not drive the truck in the rain. That being said the customer service at the kamloops location was great and the staff very friendly. We were not impressed with the condition of the truck. We were moving provinces and it added an additional $200 to our move we were not anticipating.
Samantha B.The way you charge for fuel is questionable. Used an 1/8th of a tank on a cube van. Read the little re fuel guide, and it said like 12.5 litres. I put in 12.5 L and turned truck on to check. Still below full, 5 more litres, re check, still below full. 5 more litres and the pump clicks, check gauge, still below full! Pump more gas pump clicks for a second time, way past full. So the way to improve would be charge people fair gas prices so they dont need to play a guessing game and end up spending an extra 25 bucks on gas, and giving free gas to the next guy. Additionally if you want to continue with the same refueling practice, use a digital gauge. An analogue gauge van very much be open to interpretation as to what fuel level is indicated. But hey, I guess that's why your vehicles are so cheap to rent, you make the money on charging way above fair market value for gas.

I had to call the customer service to make changes to the reservation which finally let me pick the u-haul truck. Not to forget the customer service was 39 minutes wait.
Ramanvir M.I had the worst experience. I was scheduled at 8.30 and the location didn't have the vehicle so I had to drive 10kms away foe the truck which took almost an hour to process. So I ended up getting rhw truck at 10.30 am instead of 8.30am. I couldn't go to work because of that delay and I got no benefit of all this issue instead i had to pay for the extra distance i had to covwr because of uhaul issues . I might go for a private carrier next time.

Bruce D.Moved from Clearwater to Barriere. Closest U-Haul dealer is Kamloops (1.5 hours south). I had made the reservation to pick up in Kamloops and drop off in Barriere. However, the mobile version said we would get charged if we didn't drop it in Kamloops. So we take it to Kamloops. Then, I'm told we get charged extra for driving too many kilometres. Trust me, we didn't make any extra stops. Abosutely ridiculous.

Wolf G.We reserved online, a truck and car hauler of coarse you have tonenter car info which we did. So we called pick up location day before to ensure they had all the right stuff there, they said yes we do. Moving day comes we go to pick up equipment and low and behold they don't have the right car hauler at location, apperently we needed a wider trailer for a 2017 Maxima which was entered online then they tell us we can go to Summerland minimum 4 hour drive one way to go get one. We ended up leaving our 2md vehicle behind only to have to come back and get extra 17 hours driving. No discount nothing offered from uhaul. NEVER AGAIN

richard D.The lack of communication, and the lies between the general manager and front desk lady i could Hear about my storage truck was just insane. I call them they don't answer. Then charge late fees due to verbal lies told to me. “Unlimited fleet†or $50 posted online. But the GM won't let you take a smaller truck for more than 8 hours ! It's embarrassing how i rented truck willing to pay cash credit anything. And they double charged my visa. Then added extra dollys To the list on the receipt the original receipt but I only asked for one utility dolly and one of the moving dollies yeah they charge me for five days with an extra dolly. Has 35 extra dollars along with the extra charge for the fuel they said that I didn't put in which I did and I even park the truck nice enough for them in a safe spot earlier in the day that they charge me for because they were afraid I was going to steal it because somebody did the week before funny because they had three of my credit cards there lost all of them and I had to go in and pay another 300 and something dollars are there in a charge me another $30 late fee just made up fees left right and centre all over that not to mention they can't even spell my name right my number you got wrong the first time so they kept calling my mom‘s number so I had no communication with them but then if you look at the piece of paper is my number they just don't know how to call it. It was a nightmare because a lot of stress it was like $800 I just needed the truck for one day because of them liable what time they close I have been stuck with the truck overnight haven't had a find a place to hide it so it wouldn't get broken into . And it wouldn't be a bad idea considering there's an over abundance of staff for at least one of them to get off their ass and grab the stuff you ordered like the boxes and the blankets they're trying to charge me for 24 blankets when I told him I didn't even need it more than four but I guess they were thinking four dozen which is just ridiculously they're just scam artists I will never go back there again I want to go there today they already had put a lock on my storage unit because they said I left it unlocked which I know I locked it for sure I have it on camera. So it goes to show that they were obviously snooping through my stuff and if there's anything missing there's going to be a big lawsuit and trust me I have more than enough money to make this way worse for them than for myself. I hope not all the locations are like this because I've had some good experiences in the past with U-Haul but this is by far the worst set up I've ever seen not to mention how rude you were and unaccommodating to people moving in a stressful time of year. I hope to see the general managers face today instead of her hiding behind the office on her phone apparently and we could have an a civil conversation if she would like to instead of yelling on the phone unprofessionally because I had to talk to seven different people online and at her front desk telling me different stories and different times to bring the truck back and I'm writing this right here not because I want to complain because I only got a 5 x 10 unit anyways when they promised me a 10 x 10 so I had to go to another storage unit company and literally haul stuff out of their truck into their truck on the U-Haul lot at a fraction of the price . It was quite embarrassing I let you know that and there's a lot of people that thought it was pretty ridiculous how there is 30 people standing at the front where there was a huge lineup and they had two computers that didn't work and they're from like the 80s. For the amount of stuff you guys probably steal out of the units. And the amount of extra overages charges and I do read all the fine print there should be no reason you can post on the side of the truck $20 a day plus kilometres and then charge somebody for five days when I brought the truck back on the third day my car is parked out front in the 24 hour parking zone just to let you guys know that I wasn't gonna takeoff with that shitty U-Haul truck that I had rented in the beginning that had a padlock on it actually when I left and then I had to drive all the way back for them to take it off but they charge me for the gas . I hope this shows before I shop up there today. Because there is gonna be a huge audit in order and it's unfortunate that I can't be there to watch but my team can do that for me and the better Business bureau Has told me they have had more than enough complaints. Sorry not sorry there U-Haul but you guys need to really figure it out or maybe change out your management family company or not sometimes you gotta cut the cord on the middle child that doesn't want to do anything but sit there in a chair and point around the room at what you should grab when it's full of stuff you've never seen before and that's embarrassing and terrible customer service. Kody M.Check out procedure not clear. I tried to contact by phone but long waits of an hour or more made this impossible. I went to the office to let them know that I was vacating. I was told to empty the unit and then it would be checked for cleanliness. Also told to take my lock with me and then to come back to close the contract. When I arrived back at the office the paperwork was done. I asked for a refund for the rest of the month as I left on the 12th of the month. I was then told that I could not have a refund as the contract was already closed. I then said that I would perhaps use the storage until the end of the month for additional items so I would put the lock on until the end of the month. I was informed that that would not be possible as I'd already closed the contract! So it is then possible for U-haul to obtain rent the storage stall that I had already paid for thus getting double the rent until the end of the month. I am extremely unhappy with this and hope you will see that it is unfair to me. A reimbursement for the balance of the month would be appreciated. Gracias por considerarnos. Sincerely Carol Rimmer

Further, we had booked a truck and auto trailer only to find out the day before that the trailer will be in Lytton. This is a 2 hour drive one way! Why can the staff not call and let us know of a problem? We have another booking on 20 July, truck and trailer. We do not want a repeat of the trailer being elsewhere. Gracias
Jeanine S.I booked this trailer for drop off in Princeton. The website accepted this as a valid location. It was not until after pick up of trailer, that drop off info was emailed to me... with the drop off in Keremeos.. 1.5 hrs away. This company should have a sophisticated enough website that some kind of pop up should occur to advise that the requested drop off location is unavailable. Very annoying.

William M.More help with hooking the trailer on and how to use the trailer would have been beneficial none of that was given also there was no pin for the trailer and I was told none was needed which is total false there's a reason why there is a hole there to go through
Arvin S.We were directed to one location to pick up our truck, they didn't have it, so we went to another. They didn't have our truck either. After waiting around and trying to figure out how the hell we're going to move without a truck, they managed to find another one for us, which I had prepaid and reserved months in advance. Then the computers went down and they wouldn't let us leave because they said we still owed $23 which we had to pay cash for, since the machines were down. It seems to me after all the trouble and making us wait, it would be good customer service to offer some kind of discount. I couldn't believe they made us pay $23 cash after their huge mistake. Moving is stressful enough, when you reserve equipment, it should be there. If you make a mistake, the least you can do is offer compensation.

U-haul facilities must offer an option to cut the locks off of client's lockers under these circumstances or offer the option to unlock them with a master key. I will not recommend U-haul to anyone because of this flaw. We pay for customer service, not just the locker.

They made it seem not so bad - and were able to help me with all of my requests. Honestly, between the heat wave and the smoke from forest fires - most days they were the only good part of my day. I wish also that i had rented the boxes - I went through GOBOX and they had very limited service hours that made my move way more difficult. I would absolutely recommend this local UHAUL team. Very nice people and a great facility. It was always clean as well.

This was a known flaw in the online system according to multiple staff members yet nothing was done to fix the issue.
