Have done business at this Kalamazoo location many times since early 80's. Reason I chose this location originally when I made online reservation, and again when contacted for 20% discount, and yet again when I picked up trailer in WI. Odd that the drop-off information was still missing on this account after putting it in three times? Was not impressed that last Monday when I made the reservation, then the approval for 20% discount - that I had chosen/and had confirmed trailer pickup in Janesville, yet I get frantic calls from UHall early morning 10Jan25 (day before pickup) that pickup location had changed and did I still want it!?! Clue: Nobody wants to have a reservation confirmed, 4 days later changed to a location 30 miles from final destination; especially when travelling 225 miles to pick it up. Totally unacceptable from corporate reservations! Location personnel were excellent, reservation process and communication really stunk - other than the 20% discount, thanks.

DANIEL PI have picked up two pickups from UHaul that had filthy digusting windows, and I mean every window. This last trucks windshield was so dirty I had to pull over and wipe the drivers side off so the glare from other cars wasn't making it difficult to drive! Plus the back window was even filthier!

LAKEISHA MEmployees didn't seem to happy or approachable. If the supervisor hadn't made accommodations for the problems I was experiencing during pick-up, which I had reserved weeks in advance I would have been disappointed with Uhaul. The Supervisor's work ethics were excellent and he got things back on track. Hopefully his team will begin to match his style of handling customers in the future.

Difficult for staff to access to equipment. Under staffed. It was very busy that day. Only 2 employees and they were getting hammered. The layout (non existent) of the equipment parking yard and location of the facility was less than optimal. I felt bad for the staff.

ADITYA GThe van I rented (or had been assigned) was not accessible - it was blocked between a trailer and another van. I was asked to use a different van which I could drive off the curb (because they are understaffed so this is not a reflection on the staff but on whomever is making the staffing decisions.) I left in this van after they handed me the keys and said they would update the system. The van itself reaked of cat urine. It was obvious that a cat had actually urinated in the van somewhere and it hadn't been cleaned. This was not initially noticeable because some air freshener had been sprayed to cover the smell, but just a hundred yards down the road it became evident and as we traveled further it became unbearable. I had planned two round trips to move a sofa and some other things in town, we did only one and returned it because the smell was intolerable (imagine sticking your face in a litter box and leaving it there). Upon return I said, I only went 11 miles (instead of the 25 I prepaid for) They were so overwhelmed with people and tasks that he couldn't do anything about it. I really feel sorry for them becaue they were doing there best. Whoever owns this location/franchise is clearly is not concerned with customer experience or cleanliness. I genuinely feel for the staff at this location they are in a no win situation.

The yard was also a mess compared to the pick up location in West Palm Beach. The team and the location in West Palm Beach was excellent. However, Kalamazoo could to a lot better.

ALFRED EThe general manager lacked professionalism and seemed indifferent and unfriendly, never saying a word. Some back story: A couple weeks prior to this appointment I had scheduled an installation online and took an appointment where I was told the parts would be available. I showed up a week and a half later at the appointment only to be told the part was not in and the installer wasn't even working that day. They seemed surprised that I had booked online as if it had been overlooked. I then setup another install date a few days later. I called before I travelled there again and got routed to the main offices. I explained the previous problem and asked if they could see if the parts and the worker were available for the install. They ended up calling the manager directly to verify since they couldn't get an answer either and I believe this is where the attitude I received came from. The hitch seems to be installed properly and all appears well.
Kim LDrop off location was small, had little parking and the equipment return drop off entrance is down a dead end single width road which had uhaul trucks backed up all the way to the entrance so I had no where to go. Managed to find a spot to get the truck onto the property to drop off barely.

The only thing that I had an issue with at first was finding the number for the actual Uhaul Service center and Storage Facility that I was working with. I recommend that you ask for their direct number when you are in the facility filling out paperwork so that you do not have to go through the corporate phone tree and answering service which by the way is not very helpful and has proved to be very frustrating compared to working directly with the on site staff members.
