I have rented twice in the last two months and both times I received a dirty van. Dog hair all over the front seats for both rentals. For the first rental in July when I got home and open the back of the 10' box truck it seems as if the previous user used it to transport a dead body .it was so stinky, I had to leave it open for a while and use air freshener to cut down the smellNickel B.

The app didn't allow me to upload photos.Charles H.
Communication from the facility and a way to contact the facility would be a good first step. We dropped off the car for a hitch installation and were told that it would be completed in just over an hour and we would be called when it was. Five hours later we tried to contact the facility to get an update. Everytime we called the local number we were automatically transferred to the national number. The customer service rep at the national number was not able to tell us anything but said she would contact the facility and ask them to call us right away. Crickets. We tried the â€œChat Nowâ€ button on the website and three times the customer service rep couldn't help us but said they would contact the local UHaul facility to call us. Crickets. Finally a customer rep gave me the manager's email address but no one responded to our email. 24 hours later, we just drove to the facility and picked up our car. The work had been completed hours ago. I really don't think I have ever experienced such horrendous customer service. Would NEVER EVER use them again.Elizabeth H.

I had reserved a 20' truck a month prior for Dennis, ma. The day before I received a call that the pick up location was Pocasset Ma, roughly 50 miles away. That was clearly not going to work so they found me a smaller truck in Hyannis, which was about 9 miles away. When I picked up the truck I was told I wasn't paying for mileage since it was a one way rental. Also, the gas was marked at 1/2 but was slightly below. When I returned the truck with gas with exact same amount as I found it, I was charged 13 plus mileage overage of 17 miles. This is unacceptable.James R.

4 people work there. No one answers the phone . I left a few never used boxes in the truck. And they charged me 25.00 cleaning fee They employees there all have scowls on their faces and act like you're the bigggest pain in the world Never again. On line reservation was complicated. Had to go online to pick up and drop off. Staff on site was not very helpful. Called several times to confirm. Sometimes yes sometimes no. Worse logistics ever. The wipers were horrendous. Couldn't see a thing. Thankfully only had a little rain. The truck had so many dents it could have been in the demolition derby. Worst was no accident! In August!Denise D.

Really difficult mobile check-in (I'm a programmer for a software tech company and couldn't figure it out). Had to wait until the store opened to get helped. Customer Service was non-existent. Our vehicle breakdown in an area not easily accessible to internet support. Telephone was our only best option. Uhaul roadside assistance should be available to take emergency calls within minutes of placement. Roadside support for one way journeys is critical to stranded vehicles.THOMAS H.

checking in by phone for the first time was a major pain in the neck. After providing you with a valid driver's license and credit card requiring a reference seems a bit over the top. Whoever was monitoring your check-in process and told me to take my hat off so that I could take a picture of myself again upset the apple cart because I couldn't back up in the app I didn't know how to do it so I had to go in anywhere which I didn't mind doing the first place and I think you should encourage customers just to go in and check in I think that app is like a waste of time. Maybe don't tell people to take their hat off when it's raining so they can take a take a picture of themselves.Richard K.

I needed a small10 foot local Uhaul rental for less then a day. Scheduled the rental online and arrived at 9AM.. I was out of there by 9:10. The truck was clean and comfortable. It ran fine and was easy to handle. Dropped it off early the same day and I didn't even have to step into the office. They emailed my receipt. It was a pleasant experience all in all.Stephen Y.

One guy was very good, the other was sitting behind a desk, eating a snack. I said I was sorry to bother him during his lunch break. He said he wasn't on break and told me to see the other guy! That guy was doing all the work and did it well. I would go back because of him. Had I not dealt with him, I would NOT recommend this facility. The working guy made the return super easy! Trailer I rented had tire straps falling apart, the rear safety chain was worn to about 1/16" thick, and the lights in the rear passenger side stopped working 2 miles from the store. I called the store back and waited on hold for 25 minutes just for the location to close with out answering. I needed the trailer the next day and Noone else in the area had one available so I rewired it using my own tools and parts in my driveway that night. Hope you enjoy the free labor and parts. Salesman that rented it to me was awesome. Everything after that was a nightmare.Zachary G.

Try running an accountable professional business. A confirmed booking or reservation is not a request or wish. If you can't provide the trucks then you shouldn't let people book them. Seems obvious. Totally f*ed up the whole day but I'm sure you've done a lot worse to other people in even more critical situations than my particular house move. Anyway at least you managed to get us something, kind of surprised you could even do that. Useless company with no idea how to do business, next time I'll know better. BEWARE this waa not a glitch in inventory it is clearly a policy to confirm reservations and then say nope on the day.. If you hear someone tell you to stay away from this company believe them. Not trustworthy. There may be financial ramifications on my end for this clusterf* of a move and I think uhaul should be accountable.William T.

Thomas and his team are all very helpful and accommodating. Moves are stressful and I had some challenges with the moving truck itself. The staff were all very helpful and went out of their way to help me find a storage solution while I await truck repairs. I was expecting to have the situation to be a conflict but I was pleasantly surprised with how willing Thomas was to helping solve the situation with the needed truck repairs. We have rented from U-Haul for many years in the past (15+ years). This time was difficult due to availability (not U-Haul's fault). However, I want to point out the description for what fits in a 5 x 10 x 8 outside storage is definitely inaccurate and I caution others. The description lists items that will fit but leave out there is no room for anything else! Did not have a first-floor unit available for storage as I was told previously. what I showed up at the facility they had a hard time finding a room for me to use get it ended up being call the second floor which is very inconvenient for the going up the stairs because I was moving by myself.the whole plan was just to back up the truck into the unit and unload but that wasn't the case.. the staff laid it on the computer. The unit was WAY smaller than the CS rep said it was. I was told it could fit a 4 Room house inside it, it was a closet. When i got to the unit there had been clear damage to the front door. The handle was completely rusted and i was (and still am) unable to access the unit. There was also a giant dead Hawk lying right next to the unit. When i called to find an alternative unit nothing was available. I had to find storage with another company. I will be cancelling this reservation and expect a refund for the first months fees as i have been unable to access the unit entirely.Daryn R. | Online Move In
