I arrived at 6:30 for the truck share service… as per the option online… however, when I arrived at this Hammond location…and began the process, I was notified that it was not set up for that service so I had to wait until 7 am for the location to open. We were on a time crunch for furniture arrival and this set us back about 45 minutes. This would have been important to know ahead of time.

The safety chain was missing a hook to connect to the truck. I had to use my own shackle to make the connection. I returned the trailer a full 24 hours prior to required time and was informed that the last day of the rental can NOT be refunded. The only reason I added the extra day because I was afraid I would not remember to call and extend the rental if I was. It going to make it back in time. I don't think this is the location or a facilities problem it's a company policy problem.

We were supposed to pick up at Chef Mentor Hwy. in New Orleans, but they called the day because they didn't have one and assigned us to Tulane Ave. in New Orleans. We got there at 7:00 am and they said that it was not turned in yet. They called around and found one in Hammond, La. which was an hour away. I appreciated the looking around for us, but something has to be done about this part. If they don't have the truck, they should call to let customer know before they get there the next day.

Definitely the worst uhaul experience I've had. Not necessarily this locations fault, but uhaul general. I can't think of a more frustrating reservation practice than contacting you 24 hours before a truck you reserved 1 month ago should be picked up, and tell you that you actually have to drive an hour to pick it up somewhere else. I went from being able to walk to the uhaul I reserved the truck at, to needing to spend 1 hour of my own gas and time to pick up the truck. And the only compensation for this is they “give you free extra miles” to go pick it up LOL. Of course you need to cover those miles, you should be paying for the gas as well but you didn't, and I should be discounted for the massive waste of time. I can't really imagine ever renting a uhaul again and will be sharing this ridiculous experience with others. 1/10

Ronni Kay was my sales person for this. She was friendly and helpful i wanted to look at the storage spaces because i have to see how big they are i cant picture the size. She took me to look and stayed friendly. The only thing i would suggest maybe get a golf cart to ride the walk was a little to much i have a neck injury and its hard to walk that far. Other than that everything was great.

I had issues with the truck I rented called roadside assistance and was told that i would be charged if they took the truck from my home back to the location for repair . Talked to roadside again and they told me that there would be no charge to me for service tech to take truck back , but service tech would rather ME take truck back so I explained to he person at roadside assistance that the truck had no steering and there was a brake light flashing and dinging on the truck that I didn't think it was safe for anyone to drive !!! There was a long pause of silence . I then told her fine I would attempt to drive it back but if anything happened it would not be good that i was in a truck with no steering and or brake issues . They then sent the service tech back to pick the truck up from my location after 5 phone calls and several explanations . And I still recieved a FULL amount charge for the rental with all the inconvenience from the entire day I have used uhaul several times in the last year but this was by far the least pleasant use of a rental from uhaul with very inexperienced, unknowledgable, roadside assistance and or / help

Just check mirrors in future. I stopped in on Monday morning your man adjusted and tightened them perfectly! Appreciate that man! Wish I could tell you his name but it was like an efficient pit stop at the Indy 500. Took less than 2 minutes! He is a credit to that location. But everybody was helpful. Phone response was always excellent. I'll be back down in 2 weeks!

I felt love me I was overcharged for the truck. The advertisement said $19.95 per day . I wanted to have my whole day and was not allowed to do so. When to worker asked for a discount the manager REFUSED to give me one. I was restricted to 3 hours. I will be contacting Corporate regarding my negative experience. I would like to speak to a customer service rep.

I appreciate the service but the extra charges were not explained. The charge of $15 was agreed on. In the clause it stated that a $5 charge will be applied if the the truck wasn't over 7/8. That was for everything gap. So why was it $15 if I put $10 in it before returning it. It was far from the 7/8 gauge.

The staff seemed distracted and too busy to really help. I went in there the first time looking for an enclosed trailer. I was told there were none available and that I should call 1800 uhaul to find what I was looking for. So we went out to the parking lot and called that number and was told by the online representative that a 20' truck would be a lot less expensive. I asked her where it was located and she told me it was the same location I was sitting at. Why wouldn't they have told me that. Then when I get back in there they didn't explain anything to me about mileage so I didn't know I had a limit. Thankfully I didn't go much over my limit. She didn't go over anything with me. The truck was brought around to me and she didn't even walk around the truck with me at all. Just sent me on my way. I was not impressed with how we were treated at all. Like they didn't have time to help us. I don't care how busy you are - when you work with a customer they should have your undivided attention (with the exception of answering a call if you are the only one there - which she was not alone).

Stop charging the customer for extra mileage when events occur that are out of their control. Plan was to pickup in Bogalusa and drop off in Hammond. Because there were no available trucks in Bogalusa, had to pickup in Franklinton, go to Bogalusa and then drop off in Hammond. This added extra miles and extra money to be spent

Pick up was very easy. They didn't have the appliance dolly that I reserved and they offered me a utility dolly. I couldn't use the utility dolly for my purposes and had to go purchase an appliance dolly. Upon return, I was in the lot, parked and checking out via the 24/7 thing when the lady came out and made me stop the process and move the truck to another location. They would not allow me to complete the return process myself insisting that they do it. As a result I am being charged for a full day more, and a dolly I never had use of, because they didn't have my reserved dolly and they didn't complete the check in until over a half hour after the truck was supposed to be returned. This is super scammy and I am disputing the charges. I have rented from U-Haul several times in the past and have never had these issues. Then again, I never used this location before either.

Pre planning resulted in being shuttled from Covington to Lecombe to Hammond. Yet at Hammond there was no 20' truck available so we were given a 26' at 20' rates along with additional mileage. The additional mileage was hardly used. The truck size appears to have resulted in lower fuel mileage, thus higher out of pocket cost to me.

The staff was was unhelpful with getting the right size truck, told them I needed at least 12 foot space and they recommended a 15 foot truck - that truck bed is less than 12 foot due to the built in box in front. I then was charged by accident 2600.00 to my credit card and had to go back up to rental place - staff had no ideal why or how it happen and could not tell me anything. I had to call main number and wait for 30 minutes. Told it would take up to 5 business days to get reimbursed so now my credit card is maxed out then then. Not happy with a staff at uhaul that can't run computer or close out simple ticket without messing things up

Uhaul is apparently incompetent at every location. This was the better of the worst. I had so many PROBLEMS: 1. Ordered the uhaul WEEKS in advance. Then go to my SCHEDULED location in BATON ROUGE to be told I didn't have a truck. Was giving no help…was told to call a line that brought me to 3 different locations around the U.S. where I finally got help to this location. Meanwhile I need to move to Austin in 24 hrs. 2. Finally moving and I get a blowout and a flat in the uhaul that looked like it never had maintenance before. 3. Now I'm being told I OWE charges for “not filling up the truck” when I got the truck was at E. Barely made it across the street to get gas. Y'all are literally the worst company I've ever.

The first lady charged my card 28.00 and told me my reservation was at 12pm but did not say I had to be exactly on time when I got there at 2.30pm it was canceled I did not get a call or anything the second lady was really nice but I had to be re charged for everything but what if I got there and no truck was available. This is really unprofessional

The issue was that I had received a second, more threatening, email related to late payment for a U-box that wasn't even mine. This time, yes - the erroneous U-Box was removed from my account page. The second issue - how MY U-box got moved from Ft Smith to Hammond - remains a mystery. But that's OK because Hammond is closer to me anyway.

My rent was due on July 4 and I pick up the RV on the 5th. They still wanted me to paid the hole month of rent because it was already due. After arguing about why I had to paid the hole month rent, that it was bue 1 day before and that it was a holiday, they told me "as a courtesy they charge me have the rent.

Once I put my things in the unit I didn't need access to it until I came back to get. Although I did check on evey3-4 months. My rental was a successful one. I would use this facility again if I had something to store that I could not accommodate myself All employees were helpful.

These people changed the name on a account argued with a customer who was telling them they never showed identification to get the unit. Ran someone else card to pay for the unit they changed the name of & for over a year held onto a storage that was told to them multiple times wasn't needed. If I had more time on my hands I would've filed a lawsuit on this company. I wouldn't rent anything from this company ever in my life. It had a hole in the unit that ruined items. These people or rude & they will change info on your units. Beware of them.

Moved out of storage over 8 months ago. Hammond uhaul 4 month of being gone they charged my credit cart over 400 dollars that I didn't authorize. Spoke with multiple people stating I have move out kept calling stating I had the lock still on the storage unit. I took the lock when I moved out so it was a lie . I will not recommend hammond to anyone

The owner and her staff were excellent. The devastating hurricaine did very little damage to her buildings. There was damage to my unit but it was minimal. Just some water came into the unit from the roof causing a little mold to grow on my furnature. But with a good cleaning it will be fine. Much thanks for all they have done for me.

Worst U-Haul experience ever. I'd ask for my money back if it didn't take up so much uselessness of my time just trying to communicate with such unprofessionalism. I'll never use uhaul again. I'd rather pay more for a better experience than to experience U-Haul again. And this is no exaggeration just about everyone I mention U-Hauls name to has nothing good to say about them as a company therefore indicating the poor customer service being given by this company to clients who spend their hard earned money to use their equipment and services.
