I was highly disappointed in the fact that I reserved a 20' truck 1.5 months before my move only to be told the day before that it wouldn't be available unless I was willing to drive an extra 30 minutes each way to pick up and drop off a truck at a further location. I ended up having to go with a 10' truck since it was the only one available at least somewhat close to my house.Christina L.

I then went to drop off the truck that evening and again the UHaul mobile check out did not work - it had the location of the pick up office, not the one way drop off location that I scheduled. I parked the truck in the scheduled lot and placed the keys in the drop box. I was then charged for an extra day + coverage + flat tax + after hours service fee. I spent hours on the phone for help over the day and to resolve UHaul's errors. The truck was great but everything else made the stress of a moving day way worse.Kristine G.

DON'T CHANGE REQUESTED LOCATION! I FOUND OUT THE MORNING OF MY RESERVATION THAT THE LOCATION HAD CHANGED. I WAS TRANSPORTING ITEMS FROM MILLVILLE TO LEESBURG. I HAD TO GO FROM WILLIAMSTOWN TO GLASSBORO TO MILLVILLE TO LEESBURG BACK TO GLASSBORO TO RETURN UHAUL THEN BACK TO MILLVILLE.I TRIED TO CALL TO SEE IF THERE WAS A CLOSER LOCATION TO PICK UP FROM SINCE I WAS ON A PRETTY TIGHT SCHEDULE THAT MORNING AND THE WAIT TIME WAS OVER AN HOUR TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE. A LOT OF WASTED MILES AND GAS. The gentleman at the Glassboro location was extemely helpful and extended the rental time which eased my frustration since I didn't have to rush to get the trailer back. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE CLOSEST UHAUL WITH A TRAILER WAS MORE THAN 20 MILES AWAY FROM MY REQUESTED LOCATION.Nikki T.

My comments here are not about the location but about a U-Haul policy and the unfortunate we had with hiring help. #1. U-Haul's tactic of taking up needed space on the rental truck with a dolly and blankets is annoying and unfair. I had no use for either yet we lost 14 cubic feet of truck space because of this ploy to get me to use your accessories. #2 although the helpers were nice, they were overbooked and 3 hours late. We lost 3 hours of moving and unpacking time sitting around waiting for them to show up. Not happy with this service. I could hired college kids with better results.Bruce G.

Everything was great! Only thing I would recommend for mobile pick up, is a little bit more information on where to find how to get it started once you do the mobile check in. I checked in and it just brought me back to the details of my order with no direction what to do next. I had called the 800 number to help me out and Javier did great! I booked everything online back in January so I also blame the website. My pickup location changed days before I was supposed to pick the truck up. This changed my plans for the time to meet my friends and start. Also, I would like to add that the original location was closer to my storage facility, so I had a further drive, essentially adding miles to this very unpleasant experience. I had to call a phone number when I arrived because unfortunately I needed to purchase boxes, I was told "I am helping a customer, I will be as soon as I can". I waited over 20 minutes... long story short, more customers arrived, she became "overwhelmed", I honestly do NOT blame her at all for anything. I blame U-HAUL, the reason that I needed, again, to be delayed was because she was trying to hook up a trailer for a customer, who Im pretty sure was dissatisfied also, and something was wrong with your hitch. When she finally arrived, the computer that she needs to run your business, is freezing up and not letting her see things in a timely matter. She hands me a contract for the truck, I immediately see that it claims, I need to return the truck by Thursday at 8am but how can this be? I used your site to book my trip, I needed to pick it up on Monday in New Jersey, load everything into the truck, pack the truck, Monday into Tuesday, sleep (I thought it was a good idea), and than drive 10hrs to West Virginia, have movers come and help me, and return your truck at 5pm Thursday evening. I used your site to secure movers, I booked them for first thing in the morning Thursday, I brought this to your employee's attention but again, her computer would not allow her to make changes, and may I add how many customers were now behind me trying to get their days accomplished. I needed a totally separate order for my boxes. I was charged and extra $100 as a deposit because of it being a debit card after several increases in the final total to rent your truck to begin with. The equipment I ordered to help me and my friends was not on the truck (utility dolly), I was told "Oh, we don't have any of them here" but I was charged for it. Unfortunately, because I have depended on this all going as planned back in January, none of this could be changed or fixed at that moment. Looking back now, I should have walked out and went somewhere else. Everything else went as planned, I was happy and satisfied that I made it safe in a vehicle that I have never driven before, my movers were amazing and than I went to U-HAUL again. The man that greeted me there was rude, the only rude person I have ever met in West Virginia. Took the keys and was getting ready to close the account. As soon as I mentioned the $100 deposit he decided to play dumb, actually said to me "well, I have no idea why you needed a deposit?" With a couple of key stokes he insulting said "oh, it's because you used a debit card", he clicks away on the computer a little more and runs outside. Since I again had a while to waitI, he was very thorough and obviously needed to finish his cigarette, I read a sign that someone took the time to print out but obviously he hasn't had the time to read, that clearly states "there will be a $100 charge to anyone using a debit card or paying cash". He returns and says "well, you are only getting back $29.26, you are late and you went over your miles". The gas gauge was one space over a quarter of a tank when I picked it up and when I returned it, it was a quarter of a tank. He charged me for three gallons of gas, seriously? I was charged $14.00 for coverage, of what? I already paid for every coverage option that I was offered when I picked it up. I was charged $40 for an additional day but I booked online and put 5pm as my return time, again, not sure how I could return it at 8am when the movers weren't getting there until 9am unless I unpacked it myself but then why would I need movers? Hum,.,. I was charged for extra miles, 15 miles, yes... driving from Glassboro, NJ (by the way, was supposed to be Williamstown, NJ), to Winslow, NJ (Storage), back to Williamstown (to sleep), to West Virginia (my home is almost an hour from the closet drop off for the U-HAUL), to Charleston, WV and I went 15 miles over... oh, and treated unsatisfactory the entire time from your company. I will never rent from you again, I will never recommend U-HAUL.Michele S.

I even needed a large storage unit unfortunately it was not available even as the computer stated it was the team reached out to me immediately. Amanda kept my name on file to get back to me if one became available. As for renting the truck. I have rented from this place and returned a few times no hassle no regrets. Not even if your a few minutes late. I appreciated the hassle-free it was less stress on a stressful time of selling. Thank you guys keep up the excellent work.Robbin P.

Used Uhaul mobile app to reserved 20' truck At a location 1 mile for home. Pickup time needed was 8:30 am. Morning of pickup I was texted that the pickup location had been change to a location 6 miles from home. When I arrived at new pickup location it was not open it opened at 9:00 am I attempted to use the mobile checkout but the app was not working. Due to other customers and only one person handling check in I didn't get on the road and back at jobsite until 10:00 am. I had labor waiting for over an hour for me to arrive. I have been using UHaul for the past ten years and this was the worst service I have experienced I will be looking into alternatives for further needs.Thomas R.

Cody the manager is not a nice person to deal with nor does he take care of ice during winter time. My sister and I both had storage units there long time 5 plus years not break in pricing. 2 years ago my sister fell on ice hitting her head several times on car before slammed into pavement. When confronted Cody would not pay Dr bills because she didn't call police so there was no record of it. When we called corporate and they called Cody the tapes were missing. So our word against his!
