The service I received at UHaul was very slow and unprofessional. When I rented a truck about a week in advance I also rented a furniture dolly. On the day of pickup I was advised that the facility does not carry furniture dollies and offered a utility dolly instead. I felt frustrated by this as we never received any call to advise us of this and we were reliant on having a furniture dolly. We should not be able to select this on the website if that location does not carry it. As well, an additional padlock was put on my unit despite my lock being the same as those sold at the front desk. When I was preparing to move out the keys provided by the customer service agent were not correct and she had to go remove the lock herself. Overall, the service was far below par. I'd reserved a 5'x10' storage unit but could only get a 5'x5' on arrival. I understand the dynamics of the storage market but a heads up text or email would have been helpful. I still need a 5x10. Upgrade to the first available should be automatic. Staff were not able to speak to it. Your staff are very pleasant and customer focused. The office was understaffed for the last weekend of the month. My biggest complaints are with Uhaul in general, not this office. I booked a van over the phone at the SE Marine Drive location in Vancouver and then got a call saying they had no similar vans available, so I had to pick it up here. That added about 40kms that i had to pay for. I drove past SE Marine Drive location during the move and there was 15-20 vans like the one I rented in the lot. I complained to office and they said my contract stated someone would call and confirm my reservation. That doesn't explain so many vans sitting in lot unused on the day I rented. Uhaul is convenient and cheap, but your booking system, online and on phone are frustrating and I always feel like your trying to milk more money out of me by changing reservation and locations.HAROLD B.

I was overcharged for two things. 1) bringing the truck back late which i was never told if I went over my Estimated time I would be charged, the office was closed at 7pm anyways and I brought the truck back after hours at 8:25 pm And 2) was double charged for appliance dolly rental which is absolutely ridiculous. I will be speaking to the head office of Uhaul and expressing my frustrations regarding customer service when I spoke with representative they did not want to help at all. Total laziness and disrespectful to customer. I filled the fuel back to where it was at when I recieved the truck and then had to even argue to get my money back for that when they over charged me for fuel !!Daniel J.

I ordered a 26' truck and did 1000km in one day. The ride was excellent and truck ran smoothly which is the most important. On the other end, the pickup and return experience was poor at this location: 10158 Nordel Crt, Delta BC. The staff was rude, the exit not well indicated (very important to keep driver stress low - especially when they drive a large truck for 1st time). I also was charged unfairly a return fee when i tried all possible actions given the circumstances. Here are some details: I was charged a return fee for not completing the online process when i tried for 10mn at 1am on the street but the Uhaul self return system was not functioning properly. I explained that i called their tech support at 1am, i also offered to provide evidences (print screens) that I tried and got errors but the lady disregarded my explanations.BENOIT S.

I picked up the truck for a time sensitive move (had to make it to condo move in spot). I had reserved the van and a dollys for the move. When I got there I was informed there were no more dollys.. Got home and the back of the cargo van was full of dirt. Drove back to the location and the sales associate was not the least bit apologetic. She gave me a different van. When I returned I spoke to the manager Christina and she only offered to compensate the kilometers. I explained that my move had been impacted and the tenants that booked for the next move in spot. They were not happy with the fact my move went over time. More time was wasted picking up a dolley. I was so dissapointed with Christina's lack of customer service. She also didn't apologize, was rude, and their system was down when I went to do the return. She said she would "see what else" she could do. I used uhaul for my move in Toronto (Mississauga) and they were amazing. I hope Uhaul will work with me, this location wasted so much time first with the dirty van and they were not even the least bit apologetic about that, nor about wasting more of my time with their system being down. In fact the manager was rude to tell me the it only took you about half an hour to come back and return the van. I was floored by her behavior.PARVEEN S.

The location closed early even though we were there on time (a couple minutes early) for our return. Mobile app wasn't working, and if it hadn't been for one super helpful associate we would have been charged a fine. I was very disappointed in the truck I received. It was old and in poor condition. As I picked up my truck, I drove by at least a half dozen brand new trucks of the same size, and when I inquired about switching, I was told they were for long haul customers only. I mentioned that I would be driving over 500 Kms, which is pretty â€œlong haulâ€, but I was told I was considered local because I was bringing the truck back to that location. The door and side mirrors rattled incessantly, and the drive side window wouldn't shut all the way so it whistled a high pitch scream on the highway, which was most of my trip. Then, because of the completely bald tires, I ended up getting stuck on a very slight grassy incline, and paid for an extra rental day and missed a day of work waiting for a tow and rearranging my drop-off schedule for storage. At the end of the day, it all got done, but I think U-Haul could do better than what I got.JAMES H.

The overall experience at this location was good. However, I had a cancelled booking a day before at a different location and the experience was absolutely TERRIBLE! Just because of that I'll never use U-Haul and will never recommend it to anyone. The reps on the phone were not helpful AT ALL! and rude and careless. It's pretty surprising how bad the experience was. It left us in such a bad situation that I do not even want to see the name U-Haul again!Melis A.
This is the most terrible U haul location I have ever been to. From start to finish, it was the worst experience I ever had anywhere in my life. The employees at this location are arrogant and very rude. I hope U haul shuts down this location to save their company from a downfall. - Charged me cleaning fee for no reason, I even offered to broom the truck - Charged for two days when I returned the truck just 2 hours late - During pick up, I felt like talking down and the employees were racist I was told that if I had booked it online, I have committed a major crime and they cannot even talk to me at the store. My suggestion is a major overhaul at this location if U haul wants to keep its name in lower mainland. Terrible, rude, uncomfortable, unwelcoming, racist.NAVROJ B.

Initially I had booked 26 feet truck. On Sunday when I was picking up the teuck the truk did not start. Was given a smaller truck as there wasn't any other option. The gas tank was empty but was marked 1/4 on the paper which I honered. This cost me two long distance trips and many addition pain. In addtion I had to pay more for gas, milage and labour. Check in girl/lady was grumpy and not customer service oriented. Clearly not happy working there. Payment interact display indicated $60 fee if paying by card, despite quoted charges if only $20 for 1/2 day. Same grumpy attendent said its "just a deposit", but this is not indicated on the display, nor did the attendent mention this prior to the transaction. Hook up and open trailer unit was good. Upon return had to wait a very long time for 2 guys at the counter negotiating, working through details of check in, when most could have been done on-line like i did and was encouraged to do so due to Covid. 2 girls at the counter, when i approached after 20 min waiting to ask if one of them could process my return and depositit refund, it was relayed she was only in training. OK. 3 other people came behind me to pick up rentals or drop off. 1 guy left. Finally processed by the girl (smaller one compared to the other, only saying to distinguish them) and she was very sweet and nice. Upon finishing, 3 moving vans backed up behind my car+trailer, and onto the street, waiting to get processed! Note original booking was for South Delta location but was contacted after confirmation, that S Delta does not have trailers? (odd as used to) so had to pick up in N Delta as the next closest. Did so then found out later that Richmond site had them and is much closer. Suspect N Delta affiliated with S Delta location to pull work. Wont be back if i have other options.Brent M.

The auto transport trailer was serviceable, everything worked, but is was pretty rough looking and was missing a handle for the tilt fender... wasn't an issue for me but if the remaining handle failed it would have been a hazard. At the time of the drop off of the truck, the customer service assistant was not at the reception and we had to wait for 15 min. Then, we were charged for a higher rental charge (2x) AND collision damage insurance was different than the quoted amount (CAD 30 instead of CAD 15). No explanation has been provided. Also, we have booked a furniture dolly which was not available at the location and no previous warning has been given.Michael S.
