Kevin RI was sent to the location on State street originally. They were no help and didnt have a truck for me. Sent me to this location to get a 26 footer, even though i wanted a 15. The lady at this location was very helpful and saved up around $100. I wish i would have been sent there in the first place. So while this switching locations put me 2 hours behind schedule, overall it was a average experience. But this location gets above average!!

derrick sI was so disappointed in the service I received on the return tonight. I rented another truck just last week and had amazing service! I was told today that I could have the truck back before 7:30pm. I got there at 6:55 only to find 3 employees all running out of the showroom saying they were closed. I said I just need someone to check the truck back in. Again I was rejected. I was told to use the drop box, however once outside I found out I had to download app, watch a video and then follow the steps of taking several photos, locking the vehicle and dropping keys in the Dropbox. This took me almost 20 minutes to complete only to see 3 employees come out at 7:30 and leave for the day. I said to one of them, please tell me why someone couldn’t have checked me in if you all were just sitting inside the last 15 minutes. Such poor customer service! Awful employees, they should be ashamed of themselves!

morgana mI received a text from U haul two days before my pickup to change my pickup location. When I arrived, the truck was a 15 foot truck and not the 20 foot truck I had reserved. I ended up getting a 20 foot truck from the Capital Drive location, but it was frustrating as I had help lined up and this caused a delay in starting.

That program became very difficult as it was asking for so much info including the life of first born children. I abandoned that process and went inside to the counter staff to complete the rental process. The app says it saves time and avoids lines at the counter. The app was taking far longer. There were no customers at the counter. The counter staff was very nice and took care of everything quite easily.
David CTried 3 times to reserve a 5X9 open trailer with a ramp on line at the Wauwatosa-Currie Park location. It kept listing other locations. I knew this location had one. Finally it came up. Did all the necessary pre-registration with credit card and photo ID. Went to location. Place not busy. Employees not very friendly, but only took a few minutes to be on my way to getting trailer. Person in the yard got me hooked up fast. Even though its a little hard to wrap the chains around my hitch because I have a Honda Ridgeline. I appreciate the location of this uhaul dealer near my house and also the price for the rental.
Joe PRented a utility trailer. It was all full of mud in and out. It’s like you took it through a desert was not cleaned at all or washed when I returned it they said to park it in the same place that I picked it up. I would think that it will still remain dirty for the next customer. The trailer should’ve been pressure washed. Maybe you should look at this trailer within the next 48 hours before you rent it to someone else the same way !

Even though It was not in use. Contacted them multiple times because maybe that person was misinformed. Didn’t get through got hung up on multiple times. Ridiculous, now I’m being charged multiple fees because they wouldn’t allow me to close my unit. Tried to close mid October it is now February.

I have rented before for other moves but never have had this bad of experience before. 0/10 would not recommend and will not be returning. When I got the car the gas was on Empty so had to fill up, Bumper was falling off my entire journey and the back door latch wouldn't close so I could not transport my TV in addition to other delicate items in the U-haul without the fear of them falling out. Worst vehicle rented from U-haul ever. WIll not be returning. Very disappointed.
Christina LMultiple rental items reserved were unavailable, the truck was frozen shut and was given to me with only a 1/8th of a tank of fuel. The attendant told me to return it with excess fuel and I’d be reimbursed, which was not true - ended up spending $60 in lost fuel and the agent checking me in suggested I siphon fuel out of their vehicle. I reached out to the manager Adam by phone and text as his card suggested and have not received a response. Awful location and would not recommend.

That's a very short window time frame to give your faithful customers time to relocate. There should have been at lease a 90day notice, finding inside climate control storage for these size of vehicles is very hard to find.

ASIA W | Overall ExperienceI used this facility for vehicle storage and the area where my spot was located constantly had debris raining down from the ceiling -- rust, dust, other unidentifiable material. More frustrating was the fact that power was apparently only turned on to certain outlets at certain intervals, even though you are paying for a spot that has a power outlet. You cannot rely upon that outlet to be powered 24/7/365 like a normal power outlet, and they do not disclose this. Finally, upon moving out after being ordered to remove all vehicles from vehicular storage (since they are shutting down this aspect of the business, in theory) as soon as possible, there is no prorated refund for the two weeks left that was already paid for. I guess it's a good thing you're shutting down the vehicle storage aspect because it was not managed well at all.

Michael S | Overall ExperienceI made a truck 27436606 and storage reservation 750053-00105246 on 8/25. I got a confirmation. I requested a day off and called the University of Wisconsin to pick up art models that they put away for me after a gallery presentation. I packed them for the short trip and went to U-Haul to get the truck (4 miles away). James let me pay for the truck but didn’t let me pay for the storage until I came back with the truck. I picked up the models and went back to U-Haul. Then, James told me that I can’t pay for the unit as it’s not available. U-Haul send me a confirmation,but didn’t tell me the storage isn’t available. They let me drive to UWM, package and move the models, and asked me to drive back to U-Haul. U-Haul had 4 days to tell me that the listed storage is a clickbait scam and there is no unit. Then, I was offered a smaller storage in an unsafe area. I was allowed to keep the truck and return it the next day free of charge due to the inconvenience. That wasn’t a feasible option for me as I wasn’t able to lift the models into a cell that sits on top of another cell. I called customer service. Linda found the same size unit somewhere else and gave me the confirmation numbers: 923029-00109870 and 4142692487. The storage was $10 more expensive. She connected me with a reservation manager to extend the truck rental for free and customer service was to match the price to the original price U-Haul confirmed. The manager, Tiffany, extended the reservation, but charged me and made it sound as if it was my fault that I was in that situation. I was disappointed but drove to Wauwatosa. I was told the storage actually costs more. I opened the truck and saw the models didn’t make the long trip and got damaged. I lost work hours and pay, I paid for extra mileage, and my art got damaged. I didn’t get a refund on all the extra charges I had to pay. The truck’s breaks and steering system need to be fixed. It was very unsafe to drive that vehicle.

I was told that isn't available at this location due to so many already been given out. If that's the case please cover the floor sticker that indicates elsewise. Maybe let customers know that before they are charged. I mean, using a different location to get the same advertising bonus that is used company wide. Listed on the website. Place is always nicely run but this was kind of a bummer for this to happen.

Unfortunately, when the configuration changed in the area where I parked, it became difficult to maneuver my van into my assigned spot. When I asked about the possibility of being moved to a more accessible spot, I was told there was nothing that could be done for me. I feel like a little more effort could have been made to accomodate a long term user - perhaps be put on a waiting list for a different spot? All in all, it's been a great place for me until that point. I wish we could have figured something else out with you.

The location is extremely well maintained.' The staff is very supportive and helpful with renting vehicles, purchasing moving boxes and equipment . Erica Eberhardy has been very supportive and worked very hard to secure a 26ft moving van for us and also just completed another rental of a 16ft van at her facility. We were forced to move ourselves after our planned move carrier informed us that they could not move us in a timely manner due to a trucker shortage. U Haul was my next best option and Erica and her team came through for us. Please recognize Erica and Her Team for jobs well done

John A | First ImpressionsI was going to let my experience go but though if the situation is addressed, I would be doing all the next customers a disservice. The guy who checked me in needs immediate coaching on how to work with customers. It has nothing to do with age (he's older than I am. I'm 54) but it's common customer service protocol that if you're taking longer than necessary, you apologize - even if it's just a one-time apology. We registered online, including entering all the license information. When I got there, yes, I was in the system but it seemed like my name was the only thing in there because of all the questions I was asked and him needing to enter it. - He needed my address (which was already there), - the front and back of my licenses (which we entered all that info already), - a 3rd, THIRD, phone number "as a back up" he said. I said, "You already confirmed one number to me, you asked for an alternative number so I gave you my mobile number, so you're not getting any other number." He said, "Well this is a new screen and it's asking for one." To which I replied, "I don't care. Do you really think it makes sense to have three numbers on file? I know you didn't make the system but you need to tell management that they need a system that can pull info from one screen to another because this is really inconvenient and frustrating for the customer." I had my son in the car and hot lunch for the family to take home right after my "quick stop" at U-Haul to get the truck. Apparently I was wrong to think to put all information online prior to my arrival because it would speed up the pick-up process would be a good idea. I'm not kidding when I say three to four other customers came and went while I was still there ... waiting ... while he was staring at the screen trying to figure things out. This also doesn't bode well for the girl who was at the other counter - and super fast with the other customers - and didn't notice I was STILL THERE after she helped 3-4 other customers. ??. I think I got there at around 9:15-9:30AM and didn't leave until after 10AM. If I were in his shoes, I would not have started the rental time for when we made the reservation for - 9:00AM because: 1. I didn't walk out of that office until after 10AM and 2. The cargo van wasn't even ready and sitting outside, Plus, 3. How does that make sense? You charge people for using your products. I didn't use it until 10 am. It doesn't hurt U-Haul financially, but it does leave a real bad taste with the customer. But he did. He left it at 9 am starting time. What sense does that make? He knew I was frustrated because I asked at least twice, "How much longer is this going to take?" I'm pretty sure most people would hear a question like that and know that this person is concerned about the time or length of time the process is taking and therefore. 1. apologize, 2. give the customer some idea of how much longer - since that's what the customer asked the employee who is representing U-Haul and/or 3. explain to the customer: A. "I'm so sorry it's taking so long. I'm new" or B. "I'm sorry. I'm still learning this system" or C. "I'm sorry. I know you've been waiting a while. I appreciate your patience. Let me get some help to speed this up" ... or some other rational explanation, not an excuse. I got nothing! This is what was said to me, "I dunno. I gotta fill in the information the screen is asking me." THAT'S what you're going to say to an obviously fidgety, anxious customer, who told you that he has his son and food to take home in the car, waiting. . I'm sure you know how far an apology goes. If he was new and that's why, fine. Tell me. We've all been new at jobs before. Every single person who has ever worked has been new at a job. But even so, that new employee needs to know it's not about THEM, Mr. U-Haul Representative Employee. Customers can't read minds. Tell me. Talk to me. Tell me something like you feel bad it's taking so long but you're doing your best. Perfect! Tell me that. I'd understand 100%. That's all I would have needed to hear. Customers don't want excuses. Just a reason ... and there's a big difference. Customers is one of the reasons you actually have a job. If you didn't have customers, you wouldn't be open. 40,000,000+ people filed for unemployment because of the Covid. Forty million!
