I scheduled a 20 ft. Truck for a 24 hr time frame after some hassles,, had to talk to multiple people to make it happen. I explained my situation that it is a 1 day move the next day. I had to finish that day! Then I get a call that night after putting money down for the hold that they don't have the 20 footer I secured but only a 10 ft with no ramp. They also said I had to bring it back by noon that day and I again said it was supposed to be 24 hrs. I was then told I can have a 10 footer until 6:30pm if picked up in a different location wich is around 20 miles further than where I was supposed to pick up and drop off. So they did give me half off per mile. But im very disappointed because I did not get what I ordered and my move has not been completed on time in which I now have penalties! We made reservation a month and a half before our move to Dallas, Texas for a 15' truck with a car tow trailer. They called us the day before our reservation that they don't have a trailer and the closest place that has one was 40 minutes the opposite way we were heading. We ended having to drive all 3 vehicles to Waukegan to get a trailer which took us longer for our move. It really made our move more stressful longer than it should have. I paid for them $20 to put my car on the hitch and my daughter wind up driving it on the hitch.Then when I get to Texas while Im on the highway another driver tells me that my lights were not lighting up for other drivers to know that I was braking and to stop.And when I get to Texas to give them the UHaul back 1 of the straps on my tire that I had on the hitch came off and the chains to hold my car up was hanging and not hooked up the hitch hydraulic pump had no oil in it and the hitch wasnt tight enough .The bar that you use to wind and tighten the hitch was loose and not locked in placeSADE H.

A truck was not available at my selected time (9am). I was never notified beforehand about this issue. I had to go to another Uhaul location, where they said they coordinated another truck. I Rented a 26 foot truck and loaded my personal belongings last night. And loaded more this morning the. We then Unloaded at our new home. My wife asked me about a bug on one of my new bins, it was crawling on the yellow top of a new binI purchased and it looked like a ROACH. I was very upset and in disbelief of what I seen and so was my wife. I called UHAUL and was placed on hold for a very long time. They never returned my call or took me of hold. I return the vehicle because of the ROACH issue. When I originally rented it for two days. When I return to UHAUL LOCATED AT 11700 W Capital Dr I was told by the receptionist that she called her manager and ERICA EBERHARDY never had a problem like that and to take a business card and call the manager. I did take the card but she never apologized who referred me to the manager or acknowledge they have an issue like this. She was totally unprofessional. I called the manager by the name Erica Eberhardy at 414-323-0501 I explained my issue of the roaches and she stated that she keeps her facility clean. She stated that me and my wife was yelling and I apologize if she thought we did. She refused to listen and kept stating we were yelling and decline to listen to me and did not want to hear anything we had to say. My wife discovered the roach and I was just trying to rectify the problem. Erica Eberhardy is the manager and is very unprofessional along with the staff that took our reservation. EVERYONE is very defensive when We tried to explain our problem. Erica Eberhardy disconnected today's call and did not return it. I will be reporting UHAUL TO THE BBB ASAP because of these poor business practices. I was also told to prove my issue by ERICA EBERHARDY. I explained on the phone that I live in my home for 5 years and NEVER had roaches. She also stated that today is her day off and she don't have to listen to me because she taken time out to call me. She also stated that I have to prove it came from them. I can provide video of my home (currently) and the new home and the roach that was on the moving bin. I have a recorded video of the issue. This company is very very unprofessional. I can't not believe that a manager operates a company in this manner, I also help and run a business and will never purposely hang up on a customer and not listen to there issues or concerns. You would think customer service would accomodate someone who got ill and can't drive. I asked to have days not driven deducted from my bill. Customer service blamed my Senior Community and told me to show my receipt so they can reimburse me. They also used the excuse they couldn't rent it because I had it while sick. More than enough inventory sitting on their lot; pointing fingers is not the right solution. My Senior Community was not at fault. Lame excuses and no accomodation for someone ill. Was supposed to just pick up the truck but could not complete it via my phone. Went inside the location which was 1minute to closing. A young African American Woman at the Wauwatosa, WI location on Saturday, July 3, 2021, 6:58 pm This took 25 minutes to complete the entire process. This young lady helped me and used her apple phone to complete the process and take all the photos. Then we went outside. She assisted me with the outside instructions. She took pictures with her own phone. She was so helpful, walking me through this whole process which was not as cut and dry as described. Especially if your phone doesn't cooperate. When you rent equipment for a certain location, that is where you should be accommodated. Customers are renting U-Haul trucks typically to move. Moving is extremely stressful. When the truck is ordered 2 weeks in advance, there should be no issue providing the customer with the location that they paid for. I was told the day before the move that I was changed to a location 20 minutes away. Which doesn't seem like an issue except for the over 40 minute round trip through heavy construction. This is definitely something I didn't need added to my plate, especially when the location I selected was less than a mile from where I needed itDavid P.

There was some inconsistency between what was on the website about how to manage toll roads than the information I received when I asked the same question at the pick-up location. When you rent a car you are given a device to track tolls, why not on a U-Haul truck if you know that I will be on toll roads? U-Haul could make that much more convenient. I had no issues with uhaul bring the uboxes and picking them up for shipment. I had an issue with the moving company that I had an initial contract with FIRST CHOICE MOVERS. The main contact person is Emily.Elisabeth@gmail.com. I called her right after I was sent the confirmation. I was told to call her the day before and I did. I called her the day of the move on June 5 at 8 am to confirm time at 1 PM. She said she was in Miami and that she will take care of me. She even confused me with one of her customer in Indiana. She then said that UHAUL made a mistake as to the rate of the UBOX saying each UBOX will cause me $400 per box as opposed to what was contracted at $275 for 2 hours. She said UBOXES takes a longer time and has to be billed separate. She then proceeded to tell me that I should cancel the contract and that her employees will come and I can just pay her cash and will give me a discount otherwise I have to pay $400 per box. I was at a lost on what to do. I needed my things moved as the UBOXES will be picked up the next day. She told me NOT TO INFORM UHAUL about our conversation. I cancelled the contract. Time passed and no one came. I called her and she said her driver had an emergency- her drivers mom is in the ER and she does not know when. I waited another 3 hours and I called her and of course she never answered. That was when realized I was scammed. She had me cancel the contract because she had no plans of doing it. I had so much anxiety. It was with Gods Grace that I was able to find another moving help company, MANLEY CREW MOVERS who was able to come with such a short notice and they were AWESOME!!! Moving help SHOULD NOT let FIRST CHOICE MOVERS on their website. They are unprofessional, liars and unreliable. I will file a complaint against the Business bureau regarding FIRST CHOICE MOVERS.patrick P.

For the delivery to the new place, I suggest having a tracker like Uber or Lyft to track my Ubox exactly. I heard two different time frames that my ubox was being delivered and when it was delivered, the person I heard wasn't a professional. It was pretty stressful on delivery day because of that and he was nice and understood the situation but it was just frustrating hearing many different things, as well as, constantly having to call customer service and be on the phone for 30 plus minutes at a time is very annoying. It was convenience and easiest for me but there are other little things that can really improve.sarah S.

If your location is changed without requesting it I would double check where the location is before you go. Two days before I was to pick up truck I received an email saying the the pickup location was changed. Not knowing the area I didn't think anything of it. As my daughter and I were driving to pick up the truck we became very uneasy as the area was in a very sketchy part of the city. We did not feel safe driving in the area let a alone getting out the car. We did however try to pick up the truck only to find the place closed and when trying to call the number posted on the door, no one answered. I then called the main uhaul office and got the location changed back to where we were originally supposed to pick up, in a very nice area with many trucks. My question is why was my location changed. If you are told to pick up at Intime Expedited Services on 4250 W Fond Du Lac Ave, request to have it changed.Gina K.

I was going to let my experience go but though if the situation is addressed, I would be doing all the next customers a disservice. The guy who checked me in needs immediate coaching on how to work with customers. It has nothing to do with age (he's older than I am. I'm 54) but it's common customer service protocol that if you're taking longer than necessary, you apologize - even if it's just a one-time apology. We registered online, including entering all the license information. When I got there, yes, I was in the system but it seemed like my name was the only thing in there because of all the questions I was asked and him needing to enter it. - He needed my address (which was already there), - the front and back of my licenses (which we entered all that info already), - a 3rd, THIRD, phone number "as a back up" he said. I said, "You already confirmed one number to me, you asked for an alternative number so I gave you my mobile number, so you're not getting any other number." He said, "Well this is a new screen and it's asking for one." To which I replied, "I don't care. Do you really think it makes sense to have three numbers on file? I know you didn't make the system but you need to tell management that they need a system that can pull info from one screen to another because this is really inconvenient and frustrating for the customer." I had my son in the car and hot lunch for the family to take home right after my "quick stop" at U-Haul to get the truck. Apparently I was wrong to think to put all information online prior to my arrival because it would speed up the pick-up process would be a good idea. I'm not kidding when I say three to four other customers came and went while I was still there ... waiting ... while he was staring at the screen trying to figure things out. This also doesn't bode well for the girl who was at the other counter - and super fast with the other customers - and didn't notice I was STILL THERE after she helped 3-4 other customers. ??. I think I got there at around 9:15-9:30AM and didn't leave until after 10AM. If I were in his shoes, I would not have started the rental time for when we made the reservation for - 9:00AM because: 1. I didn't walk out of that office until after 10AM and 2. The cargo van wasn't even ready and sitting outside, Plus, 3. How does that make sense? You charge people for using your products. I didn't use it until 10 am. It doesn't hurt U-Haul financially, but it does leave a real bad taste with the customer. But he did. He left it at 9 am starting time. What sense does that make? He knew I was frustrated because I asked at least twice, "How much longer is this going to take?" I'm pretty sure most people would hear a question like that and know that this person is concerned about the time or length of time the process is taking and therefore. 1. apologize, 2. give the customer some idea of how much longer - since that's what the customer asked the employee who is representing U-Haul and/or 3. explain to the customer: A. "I'm so sorry it's taking so long. I'm new" or B. "I'm sorry. I'm still learning this system" or C. "I'm sorry. I know you've been waiting a while. I appreciate your patience. Let me get some help to speed this up" ... or some other rational explanation, not an excuse. I got nothing! This is what was said to me, "I dunno. I gotta fill in the information the screen is asking me." THAT'S what you're going to say to an obviously fidgety, anxious customer, who told you that he has his son and food to take home in the car, waiting. . I'm sure you know how far an apology goes. If he was new and that's why, fine. Tell me. We've all been new at jobs before. Every single person who has ever worked has been new at a job. But even so, that new employee needs to know it's not about THEM, Mr. U-Haul Representative Employee. Customers can't read minds. Tell me. Talk to me. Tell me something like you feel bad it's taking so long but you're doing your best. Perfect! Tell me that. I'd understand 100%. That's all I would have needed to hear. Customers don't want excuses. Just a reason ... and there's a big difference. Customers is one of the reasons you actually have a job. If you didn't have customers, you wouldn't be open. 40,000,000+ people filed for unemployment because of the Covid. Forty million! Be grateful you're not in that number and make me feel you're happy I chose U-Haul. I really don't think that's asking too much.
