Diane K.The general number to make a reservation should allow you to pick the location you wish to pick up from. I select the Rochester hills, mi location, and they changed it to chesterfield, mi. This was way out of the way and very inconvenient. Need to work better for requested pickup locations.

The truck had an exhaust leak which was sickening and I felt unwell/headache after we used the truck!The truck would not go out of 3rd gear which is a safety hazard. I reported this to office on return, they didn't appear to care at all. I am asking someone to call, I believe we should get reimbursed. Dave E.Not enough room to drop the trailer. Went inside and the person at the counter told me to go in the area anyway and they would disconnect and take it to the back. I told that person I would take it around back and they told me no. I pulled it up to the spot they told me and the person outside asked me to pull it to the back. I had to back up now in a very tight situation. I pulled it to the back and waited 10 minutes. No one came to unhook the trailer. I finally did it myself and went in and told them. Totally frustrated by the whole thing. Wasted a good half hour of my time.

There were no blankets and no dolly in the truck, Of course they were closed by the time I noticed. I got there about 10 minutes before closing. so I was forced to move without a dolly which was very challenging.

Donald A.I went in to rent a unit for a month while I move and the only staff member to acknowledge me was a young woman, Layla. And she barely acknowledged me. Every interaction with her was with minimal communication on her part. Everything seemed like such a chore for her to have to do her job. Plenty of eye rolls, sighs, and complaints muttered under her breath about potential customers after phone calls. After getting the unit rented - paperwork signed, the unit paid for, entry cards made, etc - she told me they didn't have that type of unit available. They oversold it and all that's available is the same unit but climate controlled. I had declined that due to cost because I don't need it. At this point I said I'd accept it if the extra fee was comped. She contacted her manager Tenille who said no. So I asked for a refund. Layla worked to do the refund but then ran into issues printing my receipt. Again contacted her manager about emailing it. For an hour. Finally she contacted another manager for help and as she was on the phone with him tried the other computer. Shocker it printed immediately. As I was walking out she mentioned the second manager said they could comp the extra fee on the climate controlled unit. I declined as my card had already been run and refunded but my money is tied up with U-Haul for up to 5 business days. If it had been approved and offered an hour previously I would have accepted and had a glowing review. As it is this was a very frustrating experience. I don't believe Layla should have a customer facing position. And tennille should maybe do some training on customer retention. I will not be back to this facility; I will be pursuing my rental needs elsewhere and advising friends and family to do the same.

Herbert P.I've rented several 26' UHaul trucks in the past few years and this was hands down the worst experience I've ever dealt with. I rented a 26' at one location for a 8am pick just to show up and after 40 minutes on the phone to find out my reservation had been moved to another location. Mind you I and confirmed the initial location. After calling my wife to have her loan all 3 kids back into teh car seats and come pick me back up and drive me to the new pick up location just to find out they didn't even had a 26' truck or any other truck for me. They proceeded to tell me my reservation was then changed from 8am to 6pm. I left absolutely frustrated and upset, I was able to get a 20' U-Haul truck at roughly 3pm, but again this was the worst experience I've ever encountered and was still forced to pay full price even though I was told I could keep the truck until 5pm the following day for free and they would charge me less for the truck, but when I came to pick up the 20' truck I was then told I was to pay full price and needed to have it back by 3pm the following day or I'd be changed for an additional day. Simply unbelievable.

I don't expect red carpet treatment from uhaul but the check in guys were extremely rude and difficult to work with as well as the gal at the front desk, i understand staffing is an issue but the truck was filthy, gas tank measurement was wrong and tried to charge me $30, the truck was outdated and drove absolutely terrible and the location was just overall very poor.

I had deliveries to my unit. I was always text or emailed when they arrived. It takes women to run these places right. I will be se this facility again, should I need to.

scott m. | Overall ExperienceThe on-line elements are fine, but when contacting U-Haul, I found the personnel minimally helpful. Since I would not be present myself at the move-in, the case didn't fit the normal conditions and one person told me "see on-line." Later, another said, "We can't do that [i.e. secure the locker for a couple of days prior to move-in]" until I demanded it. Then she spoke with the supervisor who agreed to put a "red lock" on the unit until move-in day. Problem solved. If the employee had been better trained, it wouldn't have occurred.

jeff s. | First ImpressionsWhen I reserved my unit online it said the unit was for a 1-2 bedroom home up to 1200 soft. I even called and talked to a young lady in the office that confirmed the details of the unit. The actual unit size was the size of a closet. I requested for the manager to call me and I never received a call. I screenshot the false advertisement for proof. It made the moving process 1000 times More difficult. I don’t recommend reserving anything online, or calling to confirm details. You need to just go in and see the unit.
Leah R. | Online Move InI had extreme difficulties getting in touch with customer service to get assistance with issue after issue. It's hard to call directly into this location. The first issue was my uncleaned storage unit on move in day. I had to ask for a broom and clean it myself. I also had to ask for a new animal bate box because the one in my unit was apparently not replaced due to all of the cob webs and hugh white spiders that ran from it when I tapped it with the broom. Second issue, I would recommend Uhaul not sponsoring 'Moving Helpers' on your website. I paid over $300 hiring moving helpers for my storage move who never showed up. I then hired a second moving company from Uhaul's website and again, no show. I traveled from Florida to make this move happen in order to get my things loaded in the uboxes from the storage unit and spent over $1200 for this 1 day move and these moving helpers didn't even have curteousy to call to decline or reject the job through Uhaul's portal to give me an opportunity to look for help elsewhere. Needless to say, I went back to Florida without my things. Which leads me to my last issue. On the day of my arrival at Uhaul for my move out of the storage unit and into 3 unboxes for my out-of-state move, 2 out of my uboxes had no furniture covers that were to come with the uboxes. The third ubox had damaged hardware on the box that made it impossible for me to put a lock on it due to the hardware being bent and hanging on by 1 screw. It was a terrible experience! Had my moving help shown up, I couldn't have completed my move because I didn't have access to a third ubox that I paid for due to the broken hardware. This entire experience was a big negative for me. I don't think I'd recommend this location due to the poor attention paid to the ubox when delivering it and the nastiness of the storage unit that had all of those nasty white spiders and old bait animal box, but the unit was tagged saying something along the lines of cleaned and ready for customer. However, I must say that the employees who work here were extremely helpful and respectful, at least the ones I had direct contact and I know some of these issues were beyond their control, such as the third party moving helpers. My suggestion to new customers is don't use the third party helpers on Uhaul's website because if something goes wrong, Uhaul will be quick to dismiss your concerns and complaints telling you that they have nothing to do with the moving helpers and to contact them. Lastly, I did try to contact Uhaul to resolve this issue before leaving feedback. My issues were not resolved to my satisfaction mainly because I couldn't get customer service for both Uhaul and Movinghelp.com on the line after spending hours and hours on separate days trying to get help regarding my many issues.

It seems like a scam to get you to pay more for the late fee. There’s really only one nice person in the office and the others come across rude.
Gabrielle M. | Overall ExperienceFirst let me say that, in this survey that I'm completing, Uhaul has my move in date WRONG. I hope I'm not being billed for the 5th when I moved in on the 8th. Lastly, my customer service experience with all of the employees working at the Clinton Township location and even the employees at your Roseville location were very knowledgeable and so helpful. The staff at Clinton Township made sure I understood the services being offered and were very patient when I had questions. The only reason for a 4-star and not a 5-star is because on move in day, my storage unit was tagged as available for move in (as if it were throughly cleaned and ready to go). My storage unit was NOT cleaned. It was evident when all of the white spiders ran from the pest control bate box that showed evidence that it was very old, covered in dust & spider webs and the unit itself was dusty and has spider webs. I had to call to the front office for someone to bring me a broom. Beth was prompt in coming over to assist. I opted to clean/sweep myself and Beth drove back to the office to get me a freshly made insect/pest box. She apologized for my unit not being properly cleaned and I was thankful for that. Other than these couple of issues, my overall experience I'd say is an A+
