The brakes failed the second day. The front driver's side brakes over heated and started smoking. We lost a day of travel and had to stay in a hotel overnight. I want to be reimbursed $500 for our lost time, added hotel and food costs. If I had not noticed the brakes going out, someone could have been injured. Poor maintenance and need for quick turnover by Uhaul caused this issue. If I am not reimbursed I will be filing complants with the Better Business Bureau and the state.Mark S.

First, they changed our pickup location 12 hours before the reservation time which added 120 miles worth of mileage and gas we had to pay for in the Uhaul. Not to mention our private vehicle needing gas for the extra distance. I even asked if we could at least return the truck at the closer location and they said I'd have to pay a fee for that too! Then, they charged us a cleaning fee for dirty cup holders that we did not even use! No one did a truck inspection with us before we left and they didn't even have us sign paperwork. We weren't even sure what to do when we returned the truck after hours because no one explained it. The customer service at the location and the area customer service line rep was extremely rude and condescending. The entire experience was horrible and very unprofessional! When I called corporate I was finally treated nicely and offered a resolution that made our extra expense a little less, but I doubt I will enlist their help again if I can ovoid it. The customer should be treated with respect, especially when the issue is completely the fault of the company agreeing to reservations they cannot fulfill.BEATRICE M.
Equipment to assist in moving listed on website was not available. This was the only reason we went with this location. We were given the option to purchase a dolly that couldn't hold a small child let along heavy furniture. Too expensive for not being able to finish the job with the rented uhaul.JONATHAN B.

We'll start by not telling customers if they I think they're going to have the truck past 5:30pm on a Saturday that everything will be fine Because technically they're not open on Sundays meanwhile charging their card for the extra daysâ€¦that's a pretty good start.JACOB E.

I think that they should change it so all the information needed, should be filled out prior to booking a U-HAUL to ensure a better and quicker mobile pick-up. Maybe this could be a newer feature/update of the online process that way all you have to do is check-in and have already completed adding two contacts, taking a picture of your drivers license, taking a picture of yourself, passport, etc.Anna P.

After drop off I called the 24 hour service to let them know the problem and that we had returned the trailer early though we did have plans for it the next day. We didn't want to risk any hazards. We did get disconnected, but I had explained the problem with the trailer. At about 2 hours after the planed drop off the store calls and said we did not return the trailer and wanted to know when we planned to. I told her it was returned the previous night and where it was parked. She said she'd have someone look again. I explained the issues we had the night before. She apologized and said she would note it so no other customers would have that issue. I explained that I was unable to use the trailer for several planned hours and wanted to know how we could rectify that. She said she would have someone call me.... no one did. All I wanted was a chance to use another trailer for a couple of hours to help complete what I needed to get done. I wasted extra gas having to drive behind the trailer from town to town and didn't get to use the trailer for the whole alloted time because it wasn't safe without a following vehicle. No attempt has been made to rectify this situation.REBEKAH G.

I arrived to this shop a little after the time it should have been opened, according to the hours listed on the door, but no one was there. I waited 30 minutes and still no one showed up. So I had to call the 800#, which they checked me in and asked me to leave the keys in the after hours drop box. Disappointing for sure.shelli T.

Without Jessica, the manager of the Butte location, this transaction would have been a major disappointment. The trailer reserved at another U-Haul location was not available due to an IT problem. Jessica was willing to work with our time/schedule constraints to make this rental transaction work for us. U-Haul definitely needs more people with Ms. Jessica's skills at their retail locations,.JAMES W.
