They did not ask me to pick a drop off location, but just picked on at random in Richmond, VA. The location they picked was not the closest or most convenient. The trailers right trailer light was not working and the previous renters paddle lock was still on the trailer. Both these needed to be fixed. The only reason I didn't rate them below average is the guy who fixed the trailer was quick, friendly and did a great job.STEVE U.

The truck broke down and left us stranded in the middle of a busy highway. The roadside assistance had over a 30 minute wait, so we had to call a tow truck ourselves. Luckily we were reimbursed for everything, but I will not be using u-haul again after being put in danger like we were.Jackie C.

Extremely slow pick up process, I didn't everything online and through the app a week prior, and the day I went to pick up the U-Haul the app kept crashing and wouldn't allow me to pick up on my own. I had to go and get in line and when I got to the counter they had nothing showing what I did online (drivers license upload, etc). Very disappointed in the pick up process. There needs to be more staff on busy end of month days. I rented a trailer and the person who hooked it to my truck did not attach it properly and it literally came off the hitch on the highway. Thank God for the chains being connected. She seemed preoccupied and I had a feeling that she would forget something. There also needs to be a real time confirmation that the trailers are attached correctly. Taking the picture for confirmation is fine but if you are looking to ensure things are attached correctly someone needs to review that prior to the customer leaving the location.Andre T.

I had to wait for someone to hook up the trailer while she was trying to fix another customers lights. Their trucks lights were not wired properly and instead of hooking me up so I could leave she made me wait. Turns out their trailer light wires had been disconnected and she couldn't fix them anyway. No one else was available to help me. Place is super busy and not enough help. Guy who checked me in on return was much more efficient and knowledgeable.PATRICK H.

1. I was told I can drop it off anywhere in chicago when in fact they assign a place so I didn't realize I couldn't do after hours at the location closest to me at drop off. It all worked out because that Chicago location was great working with me, but communication could have been clearer about that. 2. My file said a voicemail was left regarding my reservation the day or 2 before and I didn't receive that.holly A.

The front check in experience was exceptional! The representative was friendly and took his time explaining the check out and return process. Van was newer. Low miles. Clean and worked out well moving my daughter's belongings back to college. The representative that I dealt with returning the van rental was not as engaged. He kept quoting my final total wrong causing confusion and some back and forth. His nonchalant attitude left a bad impression considering it was the last interaction I had with uhaul but when I put the whole experience in perspective, I cannot fault everyone for that one person's lack of social skills.Michelle K.

Your online details on the 26' truck are wrong. The door opening is only 7'3â€ not 7'9â€. That made all the difference in the world. I rented the truck to transport a 7'6â€ hot tub. It would not safely fit in the truck so I had to rent another truck and flatbed trailer from a different rental place. I think the Uhaul employee's name was Chanaa ? She was extremely helpful. I have been using Uhaul for decades and she saved a customer and made him a promoter of Uhaul.Philip C.

I had the truck for 2 days did not get a chance to move it at all because my place was not ready so I just basically used a truck to load all of my items on there and came to the u-haul to give a storage room to spend the rest of the day unload the truck into Yao storage room and I was charged for 3 days instead of 2 days. This storage place did not meet my expectations for the following reasons. First, it was totally inconvenient, you have to haul your belongings through the entire facility to get them to and from your unit. They have one entrance for the storage site. So it's not like you can pick a door that will at least bring you close to your unit... if you are in the back of the facility, it's going to be inconvenient. The halls are narrow so if there are others in the hallway you have to turn down a row or they have to in order to allow you to pass. If someone has their door open you will not be able to pass through until they close it. Likewise, if your door is open you will have to close it so others can get through. I requested they open the garage door to the loading dock and was told it was out of order so we had to bring everything out of a door that was smaller and less conveniently located. That wasn't a big deal, but simply opening the door would have made an already inconvenient job somewhat better. Opening the garage door would also have helped release some of the propane that was in the air. There is a huge you have to pass through that smelled strongly of propane. If you have to pass through it more than a couple times, expect to get a headache. It most certainly seemed like it could not have met health and safety standards. There is also not enough parking near the entrance... had to start loading the truck from rather far away until someone moved their car... and had to watch like a Hawk so we could get a parking spot before someone else... we were loading a whole truck so fortunately we eventually got a parking spot at the loading area. but the parking issue definitely added a ton of time onto the move. I've had less expensive units at other locations in the past where I was able to drive the truck right up to the indoor unit... so I was surprised at the poor layout of this facility. I was fortunate enough to get a ground level unit, but half the units are on a second level and you can't get carts up the stairs so people park their carts at the bottom of the stairs while loading them and it creates s problem when trying to pass. For the cost, it's totally not worth the hassle. When we were initially storing the stuff we stopped before we were halfway done and I stored the rest of the stuff in my aunts garage cause it was so much work and time to get the stuff to the unit. I would not be able to recommend this facility to a friend in good conscience.Catherine L. | Overall Experience

We had three appointments to get a lock cut off with the manager all three times that we got to our appointment time we were told it couldn't be done because they were too busy my roommate spend $50 on a uber all three times to get there from Bloomington . The manager at the Brooklyn Park U-Haul is very disrespectful unprofessional and overall just very rude.
