My UBox experience was well less than acceptable. When ordering the box, I had to call in to customer service for completing the order due to issues with the site. They could not help much at the location. Although they were friendly at the initial contact, there didn't appear to be an eagerness for assistance. Once ordered, and the date came for me to access, I was told that I could/would have full access for 4 days/nights. When I went to access it on the first night, it was completely blocked by other boxes. Since it was after hours, customer care informed me that they next day it would be unblocked and available. This in turn put me a day behind my planned schedule, AND forcing me to lose out on potential income for some work I had scheduled. The next evening on my return, the box was still blocked. The staff member gave me the impression of irritation, non apologetic, and a bad attitude, as if I made the mistake. She did clear my box out and put it in a location where I could complete my packing. Fast forward to the tail end of the shipping, I was informed from customer service that the box would be available on the 30th of the month. The website confirmed. I received an email on the 27th stating that it had made it. Contacting customer service again, I was informed that it would not be available until Jan 1st because it was being moved to another location, which I was informed that information was incorrect, by a different customer service rep. I give A+ to the first customer service rep and the last customer service rep. They were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. EVERYTHING else in between those two young ladies for me was COMPLETELY unacceptable. As much as I like UHaul and have used them for many years, this was a very bad experience for me. And I'm sure I will not recoup the lost income that I seek.

I tried a UHAUL's Neighborhood Rental but they never picked up the phone. So I decided to return to the Bridgeport 526 Pine Street Store because I had previously experienced very good service there. It worked out well.

When I returned the truck the attendant who checked it recorded an incorrect gas level and I got charged for gas refill erroneously. When I saw my bill I disputed the charge and showed the attendant the gas gauge that was clearly above where it was supposed to be and he agreed I shouldn't have been charged. I feel he was trying to scam me.

I got the 26 'truck in bad condition. The front bumper was taped with duct tape. The left front turn signal cable was broken, loose and did not work. The ABS lamp on the dashboard is constantly lit. The brake did not work properly. The store manager (Ashley) spoke very harshly. He doesn't talk to people kindly and culturally. I don't even understand how this man got there, up there in that position. If I were the boss for him, he wouldn't be working there the next day for sure. This style is by no means acceptable to either a store manager or an employee. Not saying goodbye to the man at the base Ashley. This is incredible. No one dares to speak, everyone is afraid, even though they know what he really is. I hope the president, Patrick, will read this too. I only heard a positive about him. David, who works at UHAUL, I would highly recommend it to the store manager !!

This is the second time I've used this location, and I always find the employees to be less than cordial or helpful in a way that would make the experience better. Case in point - I came in as I was having trouble using the phone app, and had to call out 'hello?' a couple of times before the clerk said 'I'm here.' Where? The place was full of rental materials and signage, and I finally found her behind a counter obscured by a rack of items. When I explained my problem, and asked if it could be handled at the counter, she just said 'no, you have to finish on the app.' Eventually, she did assist me, but only after I voiced my displeasure. Shouldn't have to do that to get some help.

Truck had a airbag warning light on when rented, there was also a severe exhaust leak which filled cabin with exhaust fumes and the fuel efficiency was it's strongly decreased based on the exhaust leak. It was the only 19 foot truck and a 20 mile radius and I have no option but to take it. I will think again before I utilize U-Haul. Simultaneously with this reservation I had to 26 foot trucks which were excellent.

The female manager was argumentative on the return location, although it said the correct drop off location on the receipt. I called the Pine Street Bridgeport CT location at 11:37, 11:38 and 11:39 and was hung up on each time. I called the State Street New Haven CT, office at 11:42 on a taped line and was told I would be refunded for unused days. I returned the trailer in 20hrs from pick up, but had paid for the car trailer for four days. I will be pursuing a refund for unused days.

The app has an issue, so I had to make my reservation through the actual website. You can't upload your license pictures on the app, the button doesn't work. I've contacted the app support before but never heard back and obviously its not fixed yet

It was very confusing to get set up into the building. The big double doors didn't open to be able to pull a couch through for easier access. Apparently you needed a card to have those doors open, but I did move in online and thought it would be a smooth transaction. I moved in after hours because of my work schedule, and I tried to call the after hours number multiple times, where I was not able to reach anyone for maybe a little direction of help. Facility is clean and organized though, so I am happy about that. I just think it could've been more signs or directions, something else to guide you on the moving into storage process.

I arrived on site and followed the instructions to gain access to the building. Went to my unit and found it locked with a small brass lock. Went to office and asked for assistance. Attendant was busy processing truck returns. I said I would try again the next day. Returned to find lock still on unit. Attendant met me at unit and removed the lock. Opened unit to find a 12"+×12"+ vertical support column in the middle of the unit. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the Attendant who said they couldn't do anything. I also requested the round lock that was supposed to be included. Attendant said he would get it and return to the unit. Attendant did not return for 15+ minutes and was outside handling truck returns when I went to find him. I returned to the office after another 10 minutes and he handed me a lock. He said he had to call GM to get access to locks. I asked if he spoke to the GM about the obstruction in my unit and he said No. Summary: The unit is not acceptable and another unit should have been assigned immediately. The customer service was terrible. Besides the waiting, the attendant did not address a significant issue and obvious customer dissatisfaction. The obstruction was not noted on the website or any subsequent communications. I reserved a 5'x10'x10' storage unit. The obstruction reduces the available storage volume and prohibits storage of most wide or long items. I have been waiting for the assignment of a new unit. Please contact me asap to resolve.
