Inside of cab was still quite dirty. She gave it a very quick spray and wipe down inside as I was looking over the vehicle but I still had to clean it myself after I brought it home. Next time vehicles should be vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned inside if they need it before they are presented to the customer.Christopher E.
The sign posts were pretty clear, and they made it pretty effortless to drop my trailer off. I was relieved after the owner of the assigned drop off location in banner elk informed me that he had no room. When checking out the vehicle I specifically asked 2 questions. 1. Will I be refunded any mileage I paid for but didn't use? 2. If I finish with the truck early can I return it safely and hope do I do that sheet hours. I was told yes, I should be refunded mileage I paid for and didn't use. And if returning after hours to just park the truck out front and put the key in the drop box. Imagine my surprise this morning when I received notification that I was charged a fee of $20 for returning the truck early. So beware... who knows what they charge if you are late!Nancy L.

I did not know my truck was in another city other than where I ordered it. When I arrived in Boone nc i was informed. They did offer a van and I decided to take it due to my daughter moving out of her college apartment. The only thing is the van had to be back by 7pm. Having no truck was a disappointment and instead of being home by 4 I got home at 9. I live 2 hours away over 100 miles 1 way. Not happy with Uhaul. The gentleman that checked me in at drop off was rude. Told me I was all set that everything was good that I could leave. An hour later he called and told me I was late dropping off my uhaul and asked when I would be there. Very unorganized and rude. And this morning I noticed an additional 50 dollar charge from them that I will be disputing.Gary W.
This location wasn't the issue. The issue is there was another Uhaul place closer to where I was located. I scheduled the rental far enough in advance that a truck could have been left there. But no I have to drive 1 stinking hour to Boone to get a truck and spend loads of money on gas to and from Boone. This to me was a deliberate tack to cost me more money than it should have.TIMOTHY B.

While the truck was not dirty, I wouldn't say it was clean either. The steering wheel was sticky and the inside of the windsheild was smeared and in need of windex. However, the truck ran great and did what it was supposed to do. The cab would have benefitted from a wet rag or a Lysol wipe for sure.Kathryn B.

Review staffing demands. The one employee was difficult to find as he was trying to help others in the storage area, I was trying to get my rental truck and another customer as trying to get the gate to open so he could leave. Great service once you find the employee.John S.
Only one person was working during the busiest moving season. I asked how to return it after hours and he said â€œI don't knowâ€ even though my reservation said I could return it after hours. My wife returned the trailer the next day for me and the lady told her to unhook it herself and didn't mention where to unload it. She had to call me during work and I had to explain where to go and how to unhook it. I'm 90% sure somewhere in the paper work it says the uhaul employee is suppose to do it. It's a very heavy trailer for a 5'4â€ woman. Terrible experience. The worst I've had at uhaul.Van L.

Mike and Zach, employees at U-Haul in Boone were professional and helpful but unfortunately, a new employee Jennifer did not answer the phone, nor return messages nor try to help us in any way. We spent about $1000K on 3 moving trucks over a 3 week period. 2 of the rentals entitled us to 2 months of free storage. I was told that I could use those consecutively but when I tried to call and verify at the end of the first month, I could never get through to Jennifer who needed to make the decision. Her ineptitude caused me to go over the first free month and since they did not honor their word and let me have the 2nd free month, I had to pay a whole month's rent for storage of a simple antique desk. I was entitled to 2 free months. The greed and unfriendliness makes me want to never recommend UHaul in Boone on hwy 105.Michael F. | Overall Experience

The facility was great. The online billing was not so good. I could not pay my bill until the day it was due. Until then, it showed a Zero balance due. With the first month free, it was misleading that my bill on month 2 was zero dollars as well. I received a late notice and paid the $15 late fee. If I had been notified that it was due, even the day of, I would have paid on time. Please considering allowing people to prepay and not have to wait until the day off to pay. Our confirmed reservation for a 20' truck was 'bumped' therefore we had no truck for moving. This was college move out/in weekend. The staff showed no concern at all and offered no solutions. We decided to rent a storage unit for 24 hours to be able to store and protect the large amount of home items we needed to move. The staff made no efforts to help or support us. Actually acting quite aloof about the whole issue. Not their problem, they didn't care. We rented a 10x10. As we were moving in to the unit, one staff member repeatedly was very aggressively driving past us, on a corner, and loudly telling us we had to move out of the way. It was unnecessary to be so aggressive. We were trying to stay out of the way with very little room to park our vehicles to unload/load. Other clients managed to get around us fine. I would never use this site again, nor Uhaul and I will be SURE to inform my friends/family of this nightmare situation. The biggest issue I have is the absolute lack of care or concern by the staff that Uhaul had caused this problem for us. After being under the impression I had my storage unit reserved, I moved ALL of my belongings into Boone as I'm searching for a home and after arriving at 4:30 in the office I was told my storage unit was not available and that they were closing soon so I couldn't see what size the next one below was. The place seemed in disrepair (the gate to the facility was actually broken and remained open all the time) the monthly cost of a unit isn't prorated (we only used about half of the month at the time of our departure) and the unit we were originally set up with looked like it had a homeless person living in it (sleeping bag, microwave, yellow rice packet...) The only reason I'm not indicating "poor" for overall experience is because Olivia, the college student who seemed to be running the show both times I went into the office, was getting it done. She provided good customer service and seems like she's got a bright future ahead. But ultimately the facility's condition caused my wife and I to find storage elsewhere.lee m. | Overall Experience

Disappointed to find that storage rates are not pro-rated upon moving out. I moved out a week after paying my storage fee, but I'm sure uhaul has already moved someone into the space I just gave up. Getting in and out was often a pain.
