It appears that U Haul has a practice of bait and switch. Several people I talked to ordered a smaller trailer which said â€œguaranteedâ€ upon order only to find out 48 hours prior that the actual pickup location was miles away. Which results in changing to larger and more expensive equipment. My $65 estimated turned into $109. I would definitely check other places before renting from uhaul again. The people in Bloomington were excellent. I asked to see the inside of the trailer which was filthy when they opened it. But the person showing me how to hook it up swept it out. Clean the bugs from windows and mirrors. Also the fuel gauge reads full, but I was able to add almost 4 gallons immediately after I picked the truck up.curt D.

Truck came with very little fuel in it. I had to stop for fuel before even getting on the freeway. Should come with at least a half of a tank. This is a simple common courtesy, if you are expecting the fuel to be replaced I should not have to get fuel two times to return it with the same fumes it was given to me on! You are welcome for getting extra fuel out of me.Troy T.

The rental location was changed without my knowledge. I was transferred around 5 times before a representative explained the location change. I had to travel 30+ mins away to pick up the truck. The steering wheel was not straight so I had to hold it towards the left in order to drive correctly. The floor of the truck heats up which was crazy.Janette J.

Mobile check-in took at least 20 minutes (waiting for ID verification and other stuff that could've been done prior to day of) and if not for happening to find an employee that was luckly able to switch me to a different truck and give me its key, I would've had to walk up a hill to a different location to get the key AFTER being told to go to my truck, then walk back to the truck. Truck was also a bit dirty. At checkout, I again had to park the truck then climb a rickety, janky looking stairway to a secondary building to actually drop off the key. There was also no way to report any damage if there had been any, if there had been any. The entire process was a horrible experience and literally the only thing good was that it was a decent price for the truck. I will never do business with U-Haul again.Joel A.

reserved a 15' truck & 2 dollie's for my move this weekend over 2 weeks ago at least... ended up with a 10' and no dollies because they were "already taken". i was offered no replacement or comp for this mistake. i also arrived to pick up my equipment at 10:30am so not sure how my reservation got screwed up so bad in the morning. i am also 6 months pregnant and was depending on all the equipment to be there for my use. what's the point of reserving if you don't get what you ask for anyways and no solution?Cara P.

We were checking around and then came to U-Haul. What a different experience. We scheduled via phone and then went in to make sure the dollar amt., pick-up time, etc. was correct. Not only was it all correct, the woman that helped us in the Bloomington store was beyond accommodating and helpful. We will always use U-Haul and will recommend to all. I was very unhappy with the service provided by U-Haul. After I arrived at my destination (5 hour drive), we unloaded (3 plus hours) I looked at my contract and since there was no drop off location, I called Marcus (from pick up) and he was not able to help me. I looked at the materials and it said I could drop off the truck at any location. I drove 20 minutes and was told I could not drop it off there. I was directed to a location that was another 30 minutes away. This is a problem in your system. It caused more miles, more gas and more time. I want a refund!Tina G.

Improved cleaning vehicle inspection. My vehicle had half smoked cigarettes' in the driver side door, stunk of smoke and ultimately broke down after forty miles of driving. Additionally roadside assistance took five hours resolve my issues while stuck on the side of a freeway. NO WAY TO DO BUSINESSDaniel D.

Your agent was not engaged. Seemed not interested in being there. Asked a question about my rental and he seemed to be annoyed that I asked a question. I have rented from your company for decades and this was not the usual nice customer experience. The 15 foot truck was banged up, rusting in many places and the back was full of debris. Location was short-staffed which led to a long wait. None of the additional equipment (dolly, furniture pads) were in the trailer so we had to go back. The good news is once we got through the line the workers were efficient, and when we came back for the missing items, they took care of us right away. desk staff were difficult to understand and did not explain lease trrms vlearly -- tpld us it would all be clear when we read lease on electronic board and read printed pages if same. But print font was soooo tiny it really was not possible to read words on papers. u- haul really needs better presentation of its customer lease agreement. in several instances your lease omits major sections of Minnesota's Self Torage statute provisions -- like notice that certain ' exempt" personal property I s always accessable and removable from rental unit- clotjing, yools of trade, personal papers ,& records and other items ennumerated in the statute. Other tenant rights are also omitted from explicit inclusion in lease. While U Haul staff are friendky and helpful, the basic tenant- landlord relationship is not well presented in the current composition of the lease.Brook M. | First Impressions

Bloomington U-haul charged crazy fees because they had us on automatic billing, something messed up with their payment system. I called multiples times to get a manager.. I even called corporate, and no one could seem to help me remove the fees from their mess up!? Needless to say, I am glad to be done with this u-haul… and their security systems are always messed up!!!!! We would check in and it would still trigger the alarm.
