If someone is confirmed a rental at one location, and then U-Haul changes pickup locations after confirmation, it should be incumbent upon U-Haul to move the item to the customer's preferred pickup location, especially if it's local. And the site employees should not tell you to contact U-Haul and they will change the location for you when returning it. She was just too lazy to fix the location to where I originally wanted to pickup and drop off. Who knew it would be 3x the rental price to change. Found that out on the phone. And fix the return process. Website repeatedly wouldn't work. Sat on the phone for an hour waiting on customer service and she just blew me off and told me I had to take it back to the pickup location. Had to download the app and create an account I didn't want and go that route. It was buggy and rebooted several times. Took me almost an hour to get it to finally work but couldn't drop the trailer off in a secure area as I didn't get a code. Had to leave it in the front lot. Overall crap experience and would rather go out and buy my own expensive trailer just so I don't ever have to use U-Haul again.

I needed an additional 2 hours with my rental and was quoted an extra $70 which was ridiculous. I was then charged for a full extra day of insurance, dolly rentals, and truck rental. Had I known I would have to pay for a full day when I only used 2 hours I would have kept the truck longer. I returned it at exactly the time I said I would. I will not use this company again. I believe I deserve a credit for at least a half day. The truck had the check engine light on the whole time.

Leave a note on the door stating when will you be back at the counter. Not sure if the person was out to lunch but another customer was waiting outside fir someone to come back to open the door. Overall, good service.

I made an online reservation only to get there and be told I was at a preferred location and had to go to another one after sitting in the parking lot for 20 minutes waiting on an employee to return. The second location at 7399 USHwy 64 was awesome but i had wasted an hour at this point which put me running late to pick up a motorcycle.

We have rented uhuals a lot and always have great service we ran into a closing problem and needed the uhual for 4 extra hours and they charged us an extra $80 I didn't mind paying but $80 for 4 hours when the original cost is $39 a day. Will never use this location again and probably will never use uhual again.

When I rented the truck a HUGE mistake was made in explaining the check in process upon returning the truck. I was told explicitly to drop the key in the mail slot and then complete the check in on my phone. If you do not immediately recognize the problem with these instructions....I do not know if the employee was new or poorly trained but this should never happen. I had no way of knowing pictures inside the truck were required to check it in. This is why I gave a below average rating.

My only comment is that I stopped the truck at the stop sign and waited as the sign said, and waited, and waited! I finally went in the office where I realized that the employee at the counter could not see the truck from where she was, and she didn't know that I was there. You might need to move the return stop sign back so the clerk can better see when someone arrives.

The young lady who checked me in the morning was a bit rude. I pulled up to the gate nobody it came nobody opened it. I got out and walked inside nobody inside a student there for a couple of minutes no one. I went back to my car and found somebody walking in the back and he went and got the young lady who ran the desk and she stuck her head out so do you have to come inside here so I would I go back to the front as I was here I saw you I thought you just left and went to the bathroom okay then she wanted me to use my phone to take pictures of my driver's license and text it to her while I was standing there with it in my hand she was very lazy very unhelpful. Contrarily the young guys outside the hooked up my trailer there's two men that work there and I've rented a trailer three or four times in the last couple months they've been very very helpful very professional very kind the young lady that ran the front in the afternoon shift was equally as kind and helpful

When I made My reservation online I added a couple of dollys for furniture and appliance and once I arrived at location, employee failed to tell me none was available and I had to drive back to the pick up location a second time to make sure he didn't forget. Very inconvenient for me. Employee also made it seem like I could actually move my furniture and appliance without equipment. That was a bad experience. Gracias.

I had "reserved" equipment in Oxford, MS - but had to drive to Memphis, TN to get it. That added 3-4 hours to my move to Dallas, because I went from Oxford to Memphis and back to Oxford to load. This was very stressful. I realize that you can't guarantee equipment location - but this was very tough on me. I had to drive so many hours and felt quite tired by the end.

There was no mention of a $300 deposit being needed to rent the van during the process to book it online yet once I arrived on-site to pickup the van I was shocked to learn it was required. Im not sure if that is normal for all sites or if I was being racially profiled. I rented a van from a different site in Memphis about a year ago and a $300 deposit was not needed. Would like someone from the corporate office to contact me to discuss.

Truck we rented broke down half way through our trip. Mechanic who looked at it said that the issue had been "rigged" and was obviously going to be faulty at some point. After being broken down for 3.5 hours, the vehicle had to be towed.

19.95 per day is a good rate. However, .69 per mile on top of that is ridiculous and then have to fill the rental back up to where it was…unbelievable…i understand the initial rental fee but you shouldn't be able to or want to charge mileage plus gas…$40 2 day rental became almost $100

My only complaint was the storing of the large rental trucks along the aisles between the buildings. It made it difficult to load and unload vehicles and especially bring in moving trucks that I hired to vacate the unit.

Must have cancelled our reservation and given it to someone else..maybe they were paying for the first month? Had to go to a competitor instead of moving in at the U Haul facility.

Danton is was less than helpful when we moved out. He said he couldn't provide mile info about our Truck because we didn't book it through him and he couldn't help us with a Storage location at our destination because… some system mom bought jumbo reason. He definitely had a different demeanor from when we checked in a storage unit. UHAUL's first month free with a Truck Rental has really helped us and we are pleased overall with the service.

It is a good location, but kind of snug. And it is hard to get out once you are done because of all the Uhaul equipment in the aisles, and on one aisle there was a couple living there in their storage unit and were very rude when I was trying exit out.

We had already moved out of the facility and two weeks after we were out we got a message that we were still renting the storage unit. We had to go back to the facility and once again get the staff to close the account. Uhaul has a very poor records system and the communication system is far below par.

The employee was very helpful, courtious and seemed to actually care about me as an individual. The units behind the office entry and exit are not easy to load or unload when others are entering or exiting. There are trucks and trailers parked along the buildings making one have to move anytime someone needs to get passed.

My storage had a leak in it and damaged my mattresses also when I made my reservation for my uhaul I reserved a storage unit when I got there they said they didn’t have my reservation and the only unit available was way bigger than what I needed but only one available so of course couldn’t keep my stuff on the uhaul I was forced to rent the bigger unit paying more money and in return getting my beds damaged

The staff was rude and had attitudes whenever I came in to inquire about something. Also they seemed to not know their job that well because everything needed to get streamlined to the manager even on easy operations. The manager was never available nor did he follow up after being left several messages.

Very few pleasant service at the storage location on stage road. We had to rent a truck from another location. Truck rental was the worst experience at the location on Summer Ave Memphis we've - We were ask for a third person phone number NOT associated with the truck rental-that person unknown to us had a balance due..Your corporate office approved the rental.The Summers location did not. We went to Penske with our money, excellent service. Penske only needed my husband and I info and credit card not our random friends phone number. Absolutely the worst service on Summer Ave,Memphis

I would like to state the truth and the whole truth. Upon arriving, my wife met Dantonio, the manager of the facility, who was EXTREMELY HELPFUL! His service was quite pleasant and beyond exceptional. He went above and beyond to take care of my wife's concern's regarding hours which would accommodate our move, etc. -Just overall a great guy. Therefore, Dantonio should be exempt from this rating. The grounds were clean but the facility itself is really very old and honestly, out of 43 times of having to move, relocate, store items due to being a commander in the military, we have never seen an older facility. The positive side is, however, we have never visited a storage facility that had a unit so large. Maybe the unit size is normal but it surely works well for our needs. Now, I will proceed in telling you what our issues have been. Upon returning the truck, my wife received a telephone call from a young lady at the facility who, upon my wife answering, jumped down her throat (verbally), and alleged that we had smoked in the rental truck. My wife tried and tried to explain to the employee that she doesn't smoke, nor do I. Even more, my wive's father, who drove the truck, has medical conditions that would never allow smoke. We aren't sure if the cigarette butts were from the previous driver and city, but we are certain that neither of the three of us left cigarette butts in the vehicle. We cleaned the truck and refueled the truck. We were also under the mileage allowed to us, by approximately 45 miles. The employee informed my wife that she had been attempting to run our card (before speaking with us and ever allowing us an opportunity to hear her concerns or express our rebuttal). Luckily for us, Bank of America was quick to identify the duplicate attempts and block all charges. The employee stated that we had gone over our miles, but upon calling customer service, the agent clearly stated on U-Hauls recorded line that we were under our miles allowed, as I had informed the employee at the location. The employee also falsified information on our account that we had not refueled the truck. We hold fuels cards with two different well known gas stations and their both active with available credit. We fueled the truck up and returned the vehicle. Here's the thing: While the truck was being returned, the "same employee" never mentioned we were below the fuel. She walked around the truck with our person. She never found cigarette butts while in our presence, so honestly, I feel as if we are being manipulated. This isn't how you treat your customers, especially ones who have always used your services and who have..., might I add, never had problems with any other U-Hual location in the past. It surely isn't how you treat an active duty military family who has been pulled here and there, around the world, to fight for the good people of this country. My wife called customer service but still, we are receiving text messages that we have an outstanding balance at the location. We turned the truck in early and after we heard from the location, we called both the location and customer service and requested to go back to the location and clean these alleged butts. However, we never received a call back. A few days later, we received notification, via email, that we now have an outstanding balance at the location. This incident might end decades of us renting with U-Haul. We will consider Budget during our next move. Employees sometimes fail to realize the financial risk in which they sometimes subject their company or brand to. Gracias por tu tiempo.

It seems there was a corporate wide system failure that delayed getting my storage unit and returning my trailer. The staff was very helpful and provided temporary storage for the trailer until computer systems came back on line and they were able to properly process application for storage unit. Excellent manager and staff.
