The interior of the trailer is poorly designed. I needed to strap some cabinets to the sides and unfortunately these trailers are not designed to strap anything down. Besides the 4 d-rings located by the floor it was difficult to accomplish what should of been so easy. Just need to redesign the interior with more d-rings, (or the make the wood slats strap friendly), for hooking straps to and would of been perfect.Matt W.

The truck smelled like some one chains smoked in the truck. I had limited time and no time to sparethey said, "We can spray the truck, if you come back" It was a short trip but it caused a sevete asthma attack. That effected my whole day. When I returned the truck all they said, "was we have no smoking signs and completed my bill. I wont recomend nor ever rent fom tjat one again.CHARLES W.

I tend to back up and help attach the trailer and on returning help unattach the trailer and putting it back? I'm confused on this just because of liability reason's for UHAUL? Your 24/7 check in is BS... Showed up at my appointment time.. 4am... Because I had to move to a new apartment plus work a 12 hour shift that night... And your system glitched and wouldn't let me check in.. as I'm parked next to the truck I rented.. had to wait 3.5 hours to even check in... You need a serious revamp of your self check in system ... There was a dolly which was zip tied inside the truck. While moving things in we bumped it and broke the zip tie. We didn't use it but were charged $7 because the zip tie was broke. Maybe they should be locked on with something else, especially in cold weather when plastic breaks easy.KRISTY H.

The gas tank was supposed to be full when I picked up the truck. I drove it approximately 20 miles but had to put in 6 gallons of gas in it to fill it back up when I returned it. So the tank wasn't even close to being full when I picked it up or your trucks only get 3 MPG.GREGORY S.

My cell phone number was entered by mistake on someone else's U-Haul account. I started getting calls about a past due bill for a storage unit I didn't rent in a town two hours away from where I live. At first I patiently explained to the callers that they had the wrong number on the account. Then I continued to receive calls and messages for several months. Eventually I became less patient with repeatedly explaining the error and asking them to remove my number. Now I received a text message asking me to take a survey and rate my experience. Unbelievable. Please, U-Haul, you need to find some way to enable your customer service reps to fix a simple error so they stop calling and texting me.Nancy B. | Overall Experience

The employees were friendly and helpful enough, but the overall experience was not good. First there was some confusion about the reservation, and the location of the storage unit. Then I got my card and could not get it to work, and one employee could not get it to work, but then the more knowledgeable employee got it to work on the first try. I continued having issues with my key card throughout the move in process, sometimes taking up to 10 swipes to get it to work. It was also extremely frustrating that there was no way or option to keep the door open while moving everything into my unit, especially since I had family helping and I was the only one with the key card. The first unit I was supplies was an 8x10, which I was informed could hold everything on a 15' truck. That unit had a small door and a relatively small hallway which made it nearly impossible to fit my larger furniture in to the unit. When we put my first large item in there, a 3 seat couch, it already took up half the unit. I also did not appreciate that the unit was very dark and had no available light source. Anyway, as soon as we realized the unit would not do, we managed to speak to the employees right as they were closing and thankfully they were still very helpful with switching me to a larger unit. That unit us much nicer and although there still isn't a light source inside, lighting was no issue, and it has a garage door entrance which made it MUCH easier to move my many large items into it.Caitlyn W. | First Impressions

Everything was very convenient for our move. The only thing we had issues with was getting contact I formation correct. A second phone number and an additional address were entered wrong and weren't double checked before entering into the system. My box springs and king size bed platform took water damage and I threw it away. I was pretty much forced to remove all my belongings from my paid storage unit because they would've removed it themselves. I was left to last second come up with a solution to find a place to store all my things. It also didn't help I was only able to go into my storage on their time. I had to have permission just to go in my storage unit when I paid for 24/7 access. You guys went back on stuff which is in the contract. I had called the facility on 9/24 and indicated that I would be in on Saturday to move everything out of the unit. I stated that I would be willing to pay for the 2 extra days of use. The representative said ok. When I arrived at the facility on Saturday morning at 7:15am. We had to wait for the door to be unlocked even though it was supposed to open at 7:00. We rented a 10' u-haul truck for the expressed purpose of cleaning out the storage unit. Once we were done, we returned the truck to the facility. The person made us wait outside and had a poor attitude when questions were asked about being refunded the difference in mileage. She argued that we were never charged even after me showing her the pending charge on my account. A couple hours after leaving the facility, we received a call from the unpleasant person who had checked in the truck stating that we owed 149.00 for the storage unit. I advised that I had spoken with someone 2 days prior and had advised that I was moving out today and that I would be paying for the 2 extra days of use. And nothing was said about paying the full amount. She said that it was told to me because there is a note on the account. I advised her again that it was not and said that I hope their calls are recorded. She said she would send it to her manager. A little while later I received an email receipt for the payment. I called the facility about it and told them that I do not authorize them to make the charge and I will pay for the 2 days that I stated before and was told ok. The "manager" got on the phone and started saying that she was the one who had spoken to me and that I was told it would be the full amount. I said no listen to the phone call because that was not said. A little while later I received a link via email to the recorded call, which the representative knew I would not be able to access since I am not an employee. Then after sending an email stating that and that I would be calling corporate, I received a screenshot of a note in some account. This was a very poor experience. I have been a uhaul customer for many years and have used u-hauls truck rental at least 4 times in the past 5 years, but around 10 times in my lifetime. I have spent quite a bit of money with u-haul and due to this experience, I will be searching out other options if/ when I move again.Susan R. | Overall Experience
