I enjoyed arriving at facility to find storage shed ready to move in. My storage shed came with free lock with move in for one way vehicle rental. My advice in the future let customer know where to get lock from on the reservation I standed in line to get lock and was told when I got to counter that lock was already in storage shed would have saved me 10-15 minutes other than that I enjoyed the experienceGlenford R. | Online Move In

I wanted to rent a truck from Killeen (population over 200,000), no out of town 26' trucks available! I was sent on a wild goose chase to Gatesville, Texas then to Salado, Texas where a truck was reserved and given to someone else prior to my arrival at that location. They told me 1/2 tank on gas. When I entered the truck, I noticed gas level just at 1/4 tank so I went back in to notify them of discrepancy and employee told me no worries he would take care of, when I returned truck I told other employee as the original one was not there. I moved all of my items out Saturday and Sunday of November 27th as I unpacked I noticed a few of my things have came up missing no one should have been in my storage my unit was 309 I discussed it with my husband and I called Monday evening to try to connect with somebody but I did tell the representative I did get in contact with what had happened and I was told to go up there the next day and let you guys know what happened someone went in my storage and took a few things I know what I brought and I've been paying you guys for a whole year to keep my items safe and a lot of my stuff came up missing so no I would not recommend you guys to anyone thanks hopefully I can get this resolved when I visit U-Haul tomorrowBernice B. | Overall Experience

When we initially moved in the unit they gave us was unavailable they then had to put us into units on the inside upstairs. When I went to go get in my storage unit the system still showed me in the one complete unit at the bottom outside so it was one headache after the other I was told that the staff member that originally checked us in was fired so it was just a mess the whole way but now everything is fine and we still use the facility. I just believe the process was ridiculous and half of the staff had no idea what they were doing but the general manager fixed everything so now everything is correct in the computer after 2 monthsSamantha P. | First Impressions

Marissa that works in the office was incredible. Always so helpful and super sweet. My only complaint is that some of my belongings got damaged while in storage and pushed back our move out date causing a delay on our move and an inconvenience of no mattresses to sleep on. This storage unit was an ordeal. We moved out in July and we asked the worker if there was anything else needed and they said no. The next month we got a bill for the next month. I tried calling several several times. On two occasions I finally was able to speak to someone and they said the manager would have to call me back to get the charge removed and the account closed. That never happened. I finally had to drive to the facility which is an hour and half away to talk to the manager. He was great and only took two minutes to close and reimburse me. He said no one ever let him know about the issue and to call me. Please make it easier to contact the stores, via email or something else. The calls do not work.Shane R. | Overall Experience

The dealer made me change the mileage where I originally had said 30 miles he made me change it to 20 when I knew that it would be about 30 miles so he ended up getting an additional almost $40 from me. I did not get the utility dolly I requested. That's why I only gave one star and also rating it on the service at the storage service at the storage was very poor and they are very disorganized. Two times they gave me storage that was locked with someone's stuff in it and they wouldn't even come and take their lock off I didn't know that Uhaul was self service now. I had to go back twice to the office to let them know both storages they gave me were locked and they were sitting in the office and wouldn't come take their lock off so I had to do itMARIA M.

I needed a U Haul to move from Waco to Dallas. I ordered a 15' truck which was great and I ordered an appliance dolly. They had the truck but no dolly which I really needed for moving washing machines. A utility dolly was offered instead, but no refund or discount. The lady at the front also wasnt able to scan my license and I had to do that. Nor was the payment kiosk performing adequately, we had to press the screen really hard and repeatedly to get it to work at all. Also when I went to get my truck, it was parked behind another truck so I had to get the lady up front to move the other truck, which is really inconvenient because the trucks are parked on the opposite end of the property from the main office. Also I ended up overfilling on gas. It would be nice if you guys could post somewhere in the vehicle how big the gas tank is and avg. MPG. I imagine that works out great for y'all but I'm out 40 extra bucks so just an idea for improvement for your customers. All in all, truck was good, the rest was poorly managed, poorly maintained, and just inconvenient at every opportunity.Robert S.
The staff was short and unhelpful both on the phone and in person. I was assigned an ADA unit without my knowledge and when I called to simply tried to understand what that meant and if I could change I was met with resistance and rude behavior. My wife and I spent 3 hours unloading our UHaul and had a few small items outside the sliding door. A U Haul employee came over to say the doors close at 8 and we said, "No problem, we'll just get those last few items inside!" When we came back 30 seconds later at 7:55 he had already locked the doors. It would have a simple courtesy to give us 2 minutes to pull the remainder of our things in.Mike D. | First Impressions

After arriving to their location to return our U Haul, I explained our truck had some issues and we didn't know what to do, because this was not it's original return destination but we didn't feel safe continuing to drive it. First time I was there, there were two female members of staff. They were in there bickering about who's working what shift and more concerned with one another's schedule then helping me get my unit setup. They took forever. One of them had their vehicle parked on a U-Haul trailer right in front of the office. Once I finally got my unit set-up, I had to wait for them to finish arguing before she came out to them back her car off the trailer, then park it, then hop in her U-Haul truck and then finally move out of the way so I can begin offloading some of my belongings into the unit. My second time I went there to actually finish placing my belongings in the unit, it had a lock on it saying that the bill hadn't been paid. I literally just opened the unit the weekend prior and made payment at that time...? I go in the front office and he tells me that wasn't my unit and I tell him that's the unit the woman walked me to and opened for me to place my lock on it. He pops off the hold and asks that I use my key to see if it worked on the lock and so I did, and it worked. He said the account must've been set-up with the wrong unit. The girl that was there my first day was so busy arguing and wondering who's working what shift that she walked me to the wrong unit. I was flying back and forth out of states so had i shown up at a time when the office wasn't open, this would've thrown off my entire travel plans as I was only there for that day to move my belongings in the unit. Am so surprised of the lack of sense of urgency your staff demonstrated and that their work schedule was so important that they thought it was warranted for me to hear as I stand there waiting to be assisted. I had to wait for almost an HR before was given a replacement truck which I had never intended to make reservation for. I?booked online 24 hrs before the scheduled pickup but the van couldn't be given to me because of some glitch in the systhem that they couldn't fix. So after an HR wait at the pickup location they have me a replacement truck that I was interested but had has no choice but to get it or cancel. The truck was so bulky and large to handle on The road and it's breaks had issues as well. Hard to handle on the road with breaks were loose and wouldn't come to stop at ease. I had to drive the truck as slowly as possible as to be able to handle it properly . it was horrible experience driving that bulky truck. I m not satisfied with the product or the service. Had a reservation yesterday at 6:30pm 7/25 to pick up truck and got to the store, it was all locked up even though the sign indicated 7:00pm was time it closed. I waited for 40 minutes and no one ever opened to door. Called the 800 number and they really didn't care either. Bad customer service. Manager was in the location today and stated there were lots of people upset for the same reason, he would speak to the employee. He didn't see too concerned. Seems to be a UHAUL practice. This is by far the worst moving experience I have ever had. I went with U-Haul/U-Box because of how long the company has been around and because I believed I would save money, how wrong I was. I was initially quoted $5800 for 6 containers which I were told would hold the contents of 1-1.5 bedrooms so I told the clerk how volume I had based on a 10x30x10 storage unit and a 1 bedroom at a different location. I was told that should be plenty, then I tried to book loaders through a website recommended by U-Box called movinghelp.com I told them I had already selected a provider but they insisted I should book through them because that was the only way I could get my containers delivered, packed and picked up the same way. I went with their suggestion despite price being $400 higher that provider I had selected initially. There were two charges for the moving help since there were two locations I got charged twice for the most expensive location and then had to wait several days to get my money back and had to go contract the single bedroom site on my own as the window to book with them had passed. I call a few days days later and got passed around from clerk to clerk because it wasn't their department or didn't know who's dept. it was with a 20 minute wait between calls. At any rate they did not have my order correctly done and had to call several times to get it fixed. Finally pack out day came 2 additional containers were required and suddenly my price went from $5800 to $9876 or thereabouts. I inquired why and was told that was the going rate that day. I insisted it wasn't my fault as I was told 6 containers would be enough and since they weren't the additional two should be charged at the same rate. I was told I would have to speak with a manager because it was beyond their control. Another slew of calls over several days transpired before I got a lead for the president of the U-Box and attempted to contact him but my calls went unanswered. My pack-out arrived a couple of weeks later and despite the fact that I requested to speak with the president to review charges they attempted to charge the whole amount to my checking account on several occasions but it was over the limit of my ATM so it got declined luckily. Every time I called trying to solve the issue instead of a call back I get U-haul trying to charge my account for the whole amount. Delivery to my house was not included in the price so I went to try to pick up a couple of containers to get started and was met by a rude and useless assistant manager who stated I could not get anything until I paid and I insisted I was ready to pay a fair amount not the inflated price and that their president would call back. It was until I called threatening with a lawsuit and my Wife left a nasty review that that president called back and stated that someone would be in touch that same day to fix issue, that was on Thursday, no call; Friday afternoon came no call so I called back to follow up and he stated that they had probably forgotten. Meanwhile by the time he called back I had already paid the full amount since my household good were being held hostage. I made a full payment on Wednesday but was informed that I could not pick up my containers as they had no trailers available until the next Monday and that if I wanted them it would have to be then. I took Monday off work and contracted help to help me offload containers which by the way when I initially reserved the boxes I was told I'd be able to get a complementary trailer that carried two containers at a time, when the Monday came the trailer was only good for one container and they started looking for my container when I arrived. The rude assistant manager was serving as a manager/receptionist and forklift driver. I was only able to pick up only 4 cointainers and had to pay full fair the contrated help though they sat around most of the day weighting for containers but she didn't care. Finally an external manager named Michelle Mitchell was able to help and we ended up getting the rest of our containers the next day with the final one being delivered by U-Haul as they hadn't been able to locate it while We were actively retrieving them and so another day went by with me paying for labor that almost didn't work. In total I paid $9876 for shipping $1600 in california for packing it and $1100 in TX for a total of $12576 and was later refunded $2368.50 which left me with a grand total of $10207.50 give or take a few dollars. Not to account time taken off work and the hours spent on the phone. DO NOT LOOK TO UHAUL-UBOX for help and or savings I give them a big 0 out of 10. The guy that helped at the facility was very helpful. There does seem to be a disconnect between the reservation system and the facility. We reserved a 10x10 but there was not one available when we got there so we had to upgrade to a 10x15 which costs more money. The rep at the site did help us by offering our first month free. We also had a lot of trouble checking out the truck we rented online and even more trouble checking it back in. The guy that helped us with checking it out was very helpful. The woman that was there when we dropped it off was not helpful and was very rude. She blamed us for not taking a picture when we picked up the vehicle even though we were not told to do so. She was also very rude to the employee she called on the phone in front of us. She told us to give her the keys and said nothing else. Cart for use, cool inside of building, and when I forgot my water bottle there is a water fountain there for guests. Will use UHaul again, the truck and trailer were easy to drive across 2 states also.Ian B. | First Impressions

We have used this facility twice. We booked indoor climate controlled unit. The first time was seemless and our things were in good shapre when we moved out. The scond time was not a good experience. We showed up in May with 2 car loads of things to store with a reservation that we booked on line. We were told that they would not honor that reservation for climate control as there were no left. We had to catch our plane so had not other choice but to take a larger non climate controlled bay that cost nearly double!! When i spoke to the manager they gave us a slight discount but did not make up for the difference. Also when we picked up our things many of the linens were ruined as they were covered with spiders grasshopers and had a smell that was not removed with washing.
