We paid for the 6 package travel pads. We did not use them. The bag was never opened. There was not a manager there to "sign off" so we had to pay for them. It seems someone should be There who could approve that issue. The people who were there were kind, helpful, knowledgeable and professional.

The gentleman that rented me a truck was very friendly and helpful , super nice guy, When i returned the truck i was helped by a completely different male employee, this guy appeared bossy and acted like he was upset because he had to go out in the cold to check the condition of the truck , gas, mileage etc and to get me a paper receipt, I’ll need a truck for the next few weeks to move but I’m not sure about this location if the employees act like this.

The roof of the truck I rented had a leak, a couple items got a little wet but nothing serious. I told the attendant about it when I returned the vehicle.

In towns where you have multiple Uhaul outlets, when clients are looking for a specific product to rent i.e. 6x12 enclosed trailer. If the location I am dealing with does not have one you need to recommend one of the other sites that does.

I have always used this same uhaul site with no problems. On my last use January 2, 2020 I was charged for using moving pads that I did not use & the employee basically accused me of using them & was insinuating that I was lying about the situation. Very unhappy with the situation.

These guys were so nice, and helpful! They answered every question I had, and one even gave me his personal cell number because he knew I had never done this before, and was kind of nervous. They made it easy, and comfortable for me!

Equipment was not thoroughly inspected prior to rental. Right front headlight was not functional. I was alerted to defect by another driver on the road & notified the rental location on Stevenson drive, Springfield, IL

They need to make weekly rates the same as other local locations. Also the manager can’t seem to read Nd comprehend what’s is written on his own poster board pertaining to weekly pickup truck rates. It clearly says 350.00 a week includes 750 free miles yet told me I had to drive that many miles to get that rate, so we got way over charged at a cost of over 570 dollars. And had I rented from a store 3 miles away it would have been 139.00 plus .59 a mile, a much more reasonable charge when you look at 19.95 a day and .59 a mile if rented by the day.

I requested a truck 2 weeks in advance only to be told i could not pick up my truck in the town I live in, Taylorville Il. I had to drive 30 miles to get my truck in Springfield IL. I then had to drive back to My town, load truck and drive back to Springfield. I request a 1 way rental because I was moving my son from Taylorville IL to Springfield IL. It was a huge inconvenience the way it ended up. The only consolation was the staff in Springfield IL Stevenson Dr store was helpful and friendly. I highly doubt I’ll rent UHaul again. A 2 week advance reservation should have been more than enough time to have my truck in the location I requested.

one of the tires was really bad on the trailer. bulging out in several spots, the guy said oh it's fine. glad I paid the extra for roadside assistance because I had to call them to come put a safe tire on the trailer. we had to do this before we hit the road.

I’m not sure why a one way wasn’t allowed when I mentioned it. I was moving to Jacksonville and the weather wasn’t the best. That’s 35 miles x .89 cents I could’ve saved. Not to mention the white knuckle driving back to Springfield. It was starting to snow and I was in a hurry to get my stuff moved before it got really bad.

Stop with all the hidden fees! Twenty dollars turned into over fifty dollars. People who rent these are usually already spending an arm and a leg on moving, you shouldn’t be so damn expensive

We were disappointed with being told differently about the fuel policy. After being told we would be comped the difference in the fuel I returned the truck with almost a full gas tank. We wound up being out $80 in fuel costs and neither the store or corporate office would do anything about it. While using the rental truck I was volunteering for a non for profit organization that is out that additional money. I am very disappointed with this and I will be very conscious with the buisness practices at uHaul and this store. My organization has been notified and so has my community. I'm sorry we could not come up with any amends to this scenario. I would think that a national buisness would have some contingencies to ensure this does not happen.

Customer service and explanation of new policy changes are critical. I had a problem with the charges it wasn’t clearly explained to be by the staff member. Called the next day and the Assistant MGR Jordan was rude and unhelpful. He basically told me to call back the next day to address my issues with the General MGR before hanging up on me. I have used this location since 1998. Never have I received such poor treatment then I received from the Assistant Mgr.

You’re after hours customer service rep was terrible - he keep insisting that I pay $20 because I did not go online and submit the after hours return policy - I told him I needed the trailer for a couple of hours and that we returned it but the facility was already closed. I parked it where “The Returns Equipment” spot. Again the guy was forcing me to go online and that extra chargers will apply of $20 - I won’t talk to the after hours call center ever again. They were RUDE!!

Upset with extra charge to clean out the truck. We were told that was an extra $25 charge which was not discussed when we picked up the truck. We were told that there was a half a tank of gas, to return it that way. We one gallon off the half tank and charged $6.30 for that gallon of gas. We weren't allowed to pay the extra fee with our second bank account. We didn't have enough in the original account. I had to call my daughter and have her charge it all on her account. I will never deal with u-haul again.

The staff were all friendly and very helpful. I arrived to pick up the vehicle late, and the team called me to ensure I was still coming. They adjusted my pickup time to accommodate my lateness. When I could not drop off when expected, they worked with me to ensure I could complete my drop-off without worry. All around just perfect service at a really reasonable price. Bravo, Springfield-Stephenson Drive team!

We found out at return that location services on iphones does not always connect to the UHaul 'system'. The mobile checkin-checkout needs to be improved. The phone assistant told us to download an app to complete the return. The next day, the store said that was not true. Please ensure that customers receive accurate information. Telling customers to download an app in the middle of a parking lot is not ok. Assuming everyone has access to a mobile devise is not ok.

We “rented” a bag of blankets, Told it contained 6. It only had 5 once we opened it, you couldn’t tell in the bag. We made due with that number but I’m afraid they are going to try to charge us for the “missing” blanket that we did not actually receive. *after hours drop off so won’t know until tomorrow

The only problem I encountered was trying to rent a dolly. They needed a DL and all I have is an ID. Turns out my moving friend showed up with a dolly and it became a non-issue.

It does not appear that Uhaul staff are well trained or informed in renting Ubox. This experience was nothing but a hassle from the beginning, and I am still waiting on clarification about final bill

I called to pay my bill and U-haul lost my information. They cant find any record. This is not good as almost everything my wife and I own are in a unit. Very dissapointed and will not recommend them
