Rosa D | Overall ExperienceThe only reason I didn't rate at Excellent is that the stairs to the second level, (where our storage unit was) were SO VERY STEEP, and it made it Very difficult to go to our unit and for moving things in and out of the unit! Otherwise, a good experience.

I called & spoke with a young woman - who said I would be issued a refund in 3 to 5 business days, other than this small mishap every thing was great.

Also, the initial email I received indicated there would be a lock for my use for storage but there was not. Also, the only cart available is a mattress cart which makes transporting items difficult.

I forgot her name but she did my return for the trailer and provided me with a map and a key for the storage locker. She is truly an employee that you should hang on to.

The people there were no help and said " the keys break in the U-Haul licks all the time. You need to get a locksmith…sorry." What a joke. There were also dead roaches in my unit every tine I went there. Pretty terrible all around.

Mark P | First ImpressionsInitially staff were helpful however when it became obvious that we couldn't possibly get in the building because the access code that I had them set up for me didn't work and none of the staff could be reached to correct the issue including the site manger, I would say the experience went from frustrating to incredibly poor. I have a trailer full of stuff that I need to put in a storage space that I can't use. I've had zero contacts since I texted the manager of the site and also used the app to contact him as well. I'll be attempting to resolve this when the office opens here and the next 30 minutes or so but my hopes are not high.

I get to my storage unit and could NOT get in because the key pad to put in PIN code DID NOT WORK. I contacted the after hours number NO ANSWER..NO HELP!! I still cannot get any help. I will not renew my storage unit!

James M | Online Move InCheck in was at the Octavus via location, Springfield, IL The team there went over and above for me when I ended up with something heavy, and no longer wanted that needed to be cleared from the unit before I could check out. I appreciate the team member who jumped in and said they would get it to the trash area for me. It was too heavy for me to take care of by myself. Thank you for your help!

RACHAEL T | First ImpressionsI don't like that my storage fee was raised by about $5 every yr for no good reason which was not in my contact which made it more difficult for me to pay the fee. O want my possessions returned to me that were auctioned. It's theft as far as I am concerned. I have the money to pay my storage fee but can't access it due to some illegal things. I explained this to Brenda she was cold and uncaring saying they gave me enough time. I explained I needed more time. Brenda said no andand it has nothing to do with her that I have more than enough money to pay my storage fee but can't access it. Well I rented my unit for about 8 yrs and it's U hauls lost that they don't have my business. They don't have any guarantee that the next renter will be as faithful as I was. I paid thousands of dollars to them and they refused to show me extended grace and charity. It's sad but that's one less bill and no more unfair yearly raising of the fee to deal with for me.

JUSTIN HI did the pre check in process. Uploads and when arrived after 3 attempts they did the picture of the license like I had already completed. Doubt interesting it's embracing the tech to do the drop off or you get charged 20 but pickup is still as painful as it has always been. Especially when I did the pre check in

RIDGE LStaff wasn’t wearing masks in a state with a mandate, shop was rundown, truck had a check engine light on, staff didn’t even remove the big window sign for me so I had to drive around with it in my cab with my passengers.
KAITLYNNICOLE MI was running late with movers coming in and delaying my arrival to pick up the trailer I reserved with my credit card. Received a call from who I assumed was the manager, letting me know that I was late and asking when I would come in. I was frazzled at the time, and, yes, at that point I was an hour late, so a call was understandable, even though the reservation was guaranteed with my card. However, she was unfriendly, rude, and dismissive. I gave her a time I would be in and arrived within a few minutes. I guess my issue is the atmosphere in the facility. I've been to other places and the employees seemed happy and positive. This one was not, and the customers feel that. I won't be back at this location.
Fran TEverything was really nice and clean but said truck had half a tank of gas but it was almost empty and engine light came on just as I was finishing but the guy that checked me out took picture of the gas gauge and gave me 40 dollars credit everybody was really professional and nice

TYLER SWhen picking up my rental, there was only one employee on site. She was friendly, professional and apologetic for delays. She patiently worked through handling ALL customers present and was an OUTSTANDING representative of U-Haul. Please give her a raise!

Lakitha C | First ImpressionsI've rented a van for the last two weeks. The first van had less then half a tank of gas. This time the tank had 1/4. The owner waited on me. I mentioned it to him (Steven) and he said that 1/4 is the minimum required. Is that how you want me to return the truck? With the minimums? Minimum air in the tires, minimum charge on the battery, and minimum care taken by me with your vehicles? I expected more than "the minimum with this location. Other than that exchange, the location gets 5 stars.

Richard WTrucks were clean but there was a mix up with the trucks when we got there and they had to switch us to a different one. Employees weren't very pleasant at this location but again trucks were in great shape!

LINDELL MNo one explained about returning the truck overnight when closed and then charging a fee for an early return. Also, bought bundles of boxes and tried to return unused boxes. No one said you will need a receipt to return boxes. "Totally unprofessional".

SIEDAH MI didn't know the 10' truck doesn't come with the extension step at the back until I was shown the truck. Likely there are larger trucks available that day. It would be helpful to explain that on UHaul website. I rented a UHaul truck in Chicago back in May and it came with a dolly and some blankets. I was expecting those things when I rented the truck in Springfield on Monday but I had to pay separately.
ZHAOCHUN MJessica Shook was a great help, very kind, and professional. She went above and beyond helping me get moving and she made it all very efficient. All around a great employee! I definitely will recommend this uhaul to everyone. Thanks again

It would have been nice to know up front the entire return process needs to take place at the time of drop off. I had the information sent to email, and required a hotspot to finish up the transaction.

KEVIN GI was supposed to be able to use the 24/7 pickup of the truck at 8:30am. The location did not do what they needed to do on their end to have that ready so when I got there at 8:20 to do the pickup process I kept getting a message that I had to wait until 9am when the location opened. The problem was we had people waiting on us to arrive with the truck to complete our move. We were on a tight schedule as it was and this put a wrench in our plans. I didn't need the truck for the full four hours luckily. However the location did not offer to extend my rental time due to their error. I think that would have been a courtesy.
APRIL MThe staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable and made small talk as if they'd known me for years. I will continue to utilize their location for my trailer rentals. And give a raise to the two women and the male that were working that night. Very nice.
