The young lady who helped me was very information, she showed me several different sized units so that I could make an informed decision and she made it easy for me to purchase. Please be sure to check vehicles before and after you rent them. Even though you are an honest customer, please know that the GM "Troy" may follow dishonest practices.

MARTHA AWhat can you do to improve? Stop with the 1/4 tank SCAM. Stop giving your customers a rental with 1/4 tank and then charging extra because it's returned with less than a 1/4 tank. It's fine if you charge for the missing fuel but the extra charge for less than 1/4 is obviously intentional.

Juan MCustomer service at the U-Haul store on Sharon Road West was one of the worst customer service I ever had in my entire life and I've been dealing with U-Haul for many years now I would never ever ever allow any of my friends or my family members to associate with U-Haul on Sharon West never ever the young lady didn't give me the right truck that I had reserved. I had two different types of truck contracts. They stole extortion money from me which is extortion so I'm gonna have to seek out a lawyer for fraudulently taking money out of my checking account double the money I am seeking a lawyer and will pursuit a lawsuit against your store immediately starting Monday morning
LISA SThis location mandated I add an optional charge to my rental. When I was going though the online check in the optional charge was not there. An agent insisted they could help me faster and then added the charge without my permission and said her manager said they had to add it to all rentals. This is illegal as the charge is NOT required and that is documented all over the U-Haul website

JOSEPH HI was told the gas tank was 1/2 full and it was not. When I called back to inform them of this, they chastised me for not checking the text prior to leaving when it would have been so simple and sensible to simply tell me as I was leaving that I would be getting a text that i should reply to prior to leaving the lot. I got no such text the first time instructing me to take photos, otherwise I would have expected the text. I feel like UHaul instructs its employees to lie about the amount of gas and therefore is unjustly enriched when the customers put in more gas than was in the vehicle when it's picked up. Feels scammy to me and I expect UHaul to have more integrity than that!

During my few months at this facility, I had a unit I had to fight tooth and nail to get 24 hour access to, despite being guaranteed by 3 customer service representatives that this wouldn't be an issue because in order to run my side business and maintain my regular job, the regular access hours didn't accommodate my needs.Come to find out, (after already investing hundreds of dollars into this move) the site didn't offer 24 hour access and I was essentially financially trapped. I had to jump through a ridiculous amount of hoops to eventually only temporarily get the access I needed. I was absolutely scammed by this company from the moment I moved in. Not only were the rates outrageous for the condition of the facility, but I constantly felt as though I was being personally anttacked and harassed by the staff. I was falsely accused of multiple nefarious activities, including breaking into a car in the property which isn't even secured with a working gate.. never even received an apology when the camera footage proved me innocent. Another false accusation lead to my access hours being restricted to a maximum of 30 minutes per day during office hours (when I am at my other job), causing my business to lose clients. At this point, I felt so uncomfortable and afraid to visit the facility for the following 2 months that I never came back. The impact this had on my business significantly decreased my income, so I eventually became unable to afford moving to another facility since I began losing clients due to my inability to move inventory in a timely manner that worked with my schedule. I also noticed a couple very personal items missing from my unit when I moved out, as it appeared my lock had somehow been removed and only had the facility's lock remaining to keep me out. After all this, I was still charged $444 for the two months I never even accessed my unit. I eventually made a settlement to pay half, but even that felt incredibly unfair. From the very beginning of my experience with this company, l feel as though I was completely tricked into renting a Uhaul truck and storage unit under the guise of a "promotional deal" that was supposedly going to save me money. Instead, I spent HUNDREDS more than I would have anywhere else- rendering me unable to afford the cost of moving somewhere else. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! Absolutely awful experience.

And for future reference maybe you all should conduct an eviction period for customers who are going through a hardship, before selling their items for little to nothing, whilst wanting more than half the potential, or for what it's being sold for. Especially on behalf of the fact that I'm only occupying your space! Them items inside the unit are not what you're looking to acquire, so why not give me a period of time to collect my things. Then if you don't receive any response or further action. Rightfully so sell, the items abandoned. But I did not abandon my unit. I was experiencing a hardship, and I only needed a couple more days to complete payment in full. And when asking for help to assure you your money, the general manager was very unresponsive and representatives very nonchalant and uninterested in assisting. I need not go on. Any further funds WILL NOT be collected from my person, or any other authorized person on my behalf, in a cognizant state of mind in any form or fashion. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Milage costs were a bit too expensive for in town travel and if I were able to return the truck at a different location then that would have been preferred. Ladies in the office when returning the truck were talking on their personal phones and not very kind or welcoming. The guy who helped us get a storage unit was very kind and helpful.

They kept accusing me of living there even thought I had no sleeping gear there. The General manager even went as far as having other tenants to try and spy on me which was totally ridiculous. I would never rent there again as long that management team is in place. The only saving grace was the young lady that showed me around initially. She was kind, courteous, and very professional. The last 2 weeks of me renting the unit i was only there twice. I'm a machinist by trade. I got absolutely no work completed. I hate to leave this comment, unfortunately there is no positive comment to leave.

My unit was supposed to have been climate controlled be didn't seem to be that way when I removed my items from the unit. I remember when I first put my items in that unit (I believe that was in 2014) that I could feel air conditioning but couldn't feel it the day I moved my items out. There was also water on the floor of the hallway near where my unit was and more water that seemed to be coming from under the walls in that hallway. There was some type of vent tubing in the ceiling of the hallway near my unit that seemed not to be connected to anything.

I drove that truck from Nashville and it was loaded. I didn't want to drive it in rush hour again to get a lock because their supply was out. He told me I had and an attitude and was wasting time talking about other options. I was in the office almost an hour. My wife and son were waiting in the truck. I'm canceling the reservation and using CubeSmart for storage.

I told the manager that I will supplied the light bulb all I needed was the ladder and he refused to help me. After being a customer for 7 years I thought it was something that they should have help me with, so I decided to move my stuff to another warehouse and of course not with your company, It's too bad , they lost a good customer who had an auto payment and they never had problems with me in all those years. I will not recommend your company to any of my friends.

I had to constantly make sure that the office staff had my card on file. This resulted in notices going to my family members. That is not acceptable and should be corrected.

I got behind in my payment so therefore they gave me a deadline to come and remove my things when I did my lock was cut I have things that was missing they gave me a deadline to get my things out of the storage I was there on the 27th and paid $100 and I got there the lock was cut I have items that I missing they refuse to talk to me Miss Britney that work there with very rude The young man named Douglas said he was manager but he had some men or his so-called security to come after me So next best thing for me to do was to call the attorney general They refused to give me my items back

Cinquetta E | Overall ExperienceYou should keep the alleyway between the units clear of vans and monitor the way people park because many times you couldn’t get through to your unit and had to go around the other buildings but a lot of that’s from typical rude drivers in Charlotte area, so the staff should just monitor it and restrict people from blocking the area with vehicles and make sure that people drive extra careful through the alleyway between the buildings.

kevin m | Overall ExperienceOn June 5 I went into the location to make sure the account was paid up because there was an issue with my card on file. I talk to the manager Doug who was very helpful and we paid up my account through July since we planned on July being the last month. I realize we lost the key to the unit so I had to cut the lock and purchase a new one that same day. Well last weekend I started moving out of my unit and moving my mom into her new place. I received a call Sunday asking if we still wanted our unit, I thought that was odd since we were in and out of the unit all day Saturday and Sunday moving things to our place. Unfortunately we got cut off by the rain so we had to postpone finishing the move. Well today I tried to call them again to see what this message was in reference to. I got in touch with the customer service representative who stated that I no longer had a unit. I figured I should drive by the location to see what was going on. When I got there I found out that they had emptied out my unit and thrown out all of our belongings. What's even more infuriating is that they had already re-rented out my unit that was paid through the end of the month. I spoke with the person at the front desk and they called Doug. Doug apologized and said that he had a lot going on and for some reason I thought because we left the unit unlocked that we no longer wanted any of our possessions that were in the unit. Below is a list of items that were thrown out. I can't in my right mind figure out how this could happen. One call was made to me before they threw our stuff out. I hate this because Doug was great and very helpful the entire time. Mistakes happen but I need to figure out what we can do to replace the possession that are now ruined. Items that were in the unit: Ashley hybrid Queen mattress Bamboo pillow top mattress Istikbal futon couch Several rugs - (1) 4 x 6, (1) 3 x 5, (2) 2 x 3 and (2) entry door mats Box of wall art Plug in floor mop

We ended up with two smaller units on the second floor- not the large unit we could just drive up to. VERY INCONVENIENT! Especially after driving in from Florida. Manager was amazing and tried to make this right but it took over an hour of our valuable time. Reservation Center sold me an office space not a storage unit! But she didn't have that either. This issue seems to be entirely on the reservation center and poor communication.

I couldn't have asked for a better customer service experience and is my reason for an excellent overall experience rating. Might be helpful if U-Haul addressed the elevator glitch. Oftentimes I could check in with my card at the front gate, yet unable to access the elevator to my 2nd floor storage unit. The card reader at the elevator either wouldn't read my card or would read it and yet the elevator would still not work.This caused the manager and staff to have to interrupt what they were doing to come and help me resolve it. They were always polite and always displayed a wonderful attitude.

The general manager (not the desk people, but the manager above them) at the time was extraordinarily confrontational. He was retired military and talked to me like I was his subordinate. Fact is - I am retired military as well and recognized the fact that he had apparently not been properly re-socialized to life in the civilian world. At other times the desk people have ranged from friendly and outgoing, to dismal and apathetic. The turnover of employees interfered with developing any kind of good relationship between me and the facility. Having been an eighteen year customer, I would have expected that the staff would be able to at least recognize me to the point that we did not have to wade through my records to establish that I am in fact a customer and just wanted access to my unit. The facilities were good enough (with the exception of the door) but overall a very disappointing experience. Pay people enough that want to make a career there and all of the above could be improved.

I will never use another storage facility or moving rental facility again!

While I did the online check in as recommended to reduce my wait time - it did nothing of the sort. The lady that checked me in still asked me all the same questions I did during the online check in a couple of days prior. Had to enter my credit card information in 3 times which made me feel uneasy as I know that's how scammers get credit card information as well. On top of that, none of the staff were wearing masks which is a requirement in NC. Instead, they propped up boxes against the check in counter to keep customers away from them. Took me about 30 minutes to wait in line and get checked out to get my rental vehicle.
