UHaul needs to update their list for drop off locations in the Opelika/Auburn area. There was only one listed in the online registration so the man At Greer Warehouse was overrun with too many trailers. Had to go somewhere else.

I selected a location that was ~2 miles from my home when I made the reservation but was made to go to a location nearly 10 miles from my home to pick up and drop iff equipment. This “bait and switch” has happened to me with U-Haul at least 3 other times over the last year. This is an inconvenience to me as it adds expense and time to me. Your CS reps were mostly useless, argumentative, and not considered a good steward of this company - unless thats the image U-Haul wishes to display. Equipment was dated and in need of attention. Transmission was difficult to select “D” as it prefered “3”; the power steering pump made a loud “growling” sound and steering was loose causing the truck to drift in the lane requiring constant attention. Personnel at pick-up/drop-off location were professional, knowledgeable and very helpful during that process . U-Hauls issues is with its reservation process and the CS staff who are apparently not hired for their professionalism nor trained to effectively execute their positions.

Check engine light was on when we picked it up and never went off. Employee wasn't helpful when I asked questions about how to drop the truck off after hours and it took him a long time to process our pickup even though we'd reserved it online. He told us it had more gas than it actually did so we filled it to where he said anyway so we wouldn't get charged. Not very professional here

The online instructions stated to present homeowners insurance verification upon arrival. The clerk at the desk did not know how to enter the homeowners insurance. It turns out they don't have to record the insurance, just need to see it. He also didn't know that the lock was inside the unit. Had to call his manager.

I was quoted for a 15ft truck and there was not a 15ft truck in the whole city for me to pick up. I had to either downsize or upsize my truck to make my move happen and that cost me several things that I had to leave behind. In addition, the man helping me with my pickup was too busy flirting with me to pay attention to what he was doing and it was downright unpleasant since it cost me answers to questions I asked. When I went to a different location to get a quote, the man working there, Richard, was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I had was I was asking for and that I would be as safe as possible during my move. Richard is the only reason I am saying this was an average experience.

Better location information on the trailers. He initially set up on one trailer number, but it was nowhere to be found, had to switch to a different trailer. (The trailer was fine and there was plenty of them.). After hours returning was EXTREMELY difficult. My phone would not connect to the return page until I downloaded the app and registered. Very annoying. What if I didn't have a smart phone? How does one return after hours?

The mirror on the driver's side would not stay in place. It would constantly drop down and all I could see was the ground. Throughout the time I rented I had to drive with the window down so I could push the mirror up so I could see behind me. Very frustrating and not very safe.

When I made the online reservation for a pickup truck and trailer and entered my debit card info, it went through with no issues. But when I went to pick up the equipment, I was informed I need a credit card for renting a pickup or van. This is information that would've been helpful and should be posted on the website for customers looking to rent a pickup or van. I had to change to a 10' truck instead. Was very annoying.

The truck nor dolly was not ready when I had arrived… even after calling & saying that I'm on my way. However, the customer service was fabulous. The two gentlemen were professional, nice & very apologetic. The facility was magnificently clean & welcoming. The Uhaul truck was clean, almost new & dependable. It was a good experience. And my drop off location on Lindsay Lane, Athens, AL was just as pleasant. That facility also was magnificently clean & the lady was nice & professional & got us out of there quickly.

Uhaul was running a special if you rent a truck got a free month on a storage unit. I paid for a sml unit. The cost was 79 a month I was late on my first pymnt I was charged 272 dollars . I asked if that coverd feb.and March. I was told it did. Well almost every night after around 2 or 3 a.m the system you have kept trying to charge my debit card Luckily my card is locked or your people would of been ripping me off. Frustrated over all this I gave my belongings and Jason the manager offered to surrender my things if I paid an agreeable amount. By April their were plans to sell my unit already. I called and asked when this would happen and he said he didn't know, yet I got an email stating my unit was going to be sold although no one could tell me when so I could bid on my things. I feel like the employees you have working their are ripping people off by making charges on their debit cards at dark thirty.when I rented the truck the employees acted way to happy that I was paying cash. I watched as they took cash out and put it in there pockets. I know when a person moves or buys a house I'm sure a loan is involved and large amounts of money is in a person's account. So possibly skimming off it may go unnoticed but I am poor and my bank account had very little money in it but apparently your employees felt otherwise because almost every night they tried to charge my debit card while I was sleeping. After the first time this happened Jason assured me it was a mistake and would never happen again well it didn't happen during business hours again it happened at between 2 and 4 am. I wonder how many other debit cards were charged and it went unnoticed by the owner of the account? I have proof of theses charges I have proof that I paid for Feb and March and my late fee . Yet I was still receiving notices for charges by uhaul a couple days after my payment was made. So I lost my belongings and no I will not recommend uhaul. In fact I have told everyone I know that uhaul is a rip off or at least the employees that represent uhaul are thieves and will try to skim bank accounts at night while you sleep so you never see the notification on an email or text.

What can I say it's a storage unit 路‍♂️ It was clean and well maintained as for as the buildings/units. However, I don't think I have ever seen staff move so slowly when signing you up for a unit and closing one out. It was insane, waited 40mins in a line with 3 associates working and 3 customers ahead of me. Also the slide cards for the security system are a joke. They work about half the time on 2 of the 4 readers at the building entrances.

Took forever looking up my reservation. Didn't know their own address. Didn't have any basic dollies/hand-trucks. Knowingly assigned me the wrong trailer and then didn't notify drop-off location ahead of time, resulting in confusion between both U-hauls. Awful, awful, awful experience. Do not get your equipment here.

Reservation was not done as asked on Friday and sat. Had to be transferred and they had to find me a truck causing me to not get the number of days requested for the truck. I asked for a truck with a dolly and because they were out of the one I needed I had to pay a higher price.

The bathroom was absolutely gross. There was poop on the floor and smeared. Also, while our actually contract stated that we had 258 miles due to a offer at the Huntsville location, we were charged for being over mileage because somehow the people at the receiving end were looking at the mileage allowed by the reservation instead of the actual contract. I've spent quite a bit of time today trying to get that overage charge credited back. I was eventually told that the customer service person had applied for a refund and if approved it would hit my bank on 2-5 days. She said she emailed me a copy of that refund request. However, it is not in my inbox. I requested a copy of the chat but it failed to send and told me I could try again or contact customer service. I tried numerous times but still got the same message. Since I had already waited on the phone for customer service before giving up and using the chat, I couldn't imagine it being helpful to call customer service to wait 25-30 minutes to request a copy of the chat. I am disappointed in Uhaul. Hopefully, the next time will be a better experience.

While the uhaul rep was very pleasant, she was not trained and lacked the physical strength required to safely mount and install the 6x12 trailer on my truck. I had to help her mount our trailer and also another customers who was picking up the large trailer. As a result of improper installation by the employee, my trailer dislodged on the interstate, 2 of the safety chains failed (also improperly installed), and the last emergency brake chain saved the trailer from freely rolling away from my moving truck. This could have killed me, other motorist and caused untold damage! I was able to stop the trailer and get to the side on interstate thank God! Please remember to independently check your trailer is tightened properly to your hitch ball and that the safety chains are attached properly. Don't trust the “trained” representative.

Could not get 24/7 truck share to work on the day of my reservation, had to come back the next day to pick up the truck. Though experience and customer service was great while I was there, I later realized I was charged double for my truck reservation. Closer attention must be paid, especially when dealing with someone else's time and money.

I'm giving it 3 stars because the lady that helped me was rude and talked to me like I was stupid. like I didn't know what I was talking about, just because she couldn't find my reservation. Saying are you sure you pick the right location, and when I pulled my phone out to show her she sat there looking at me like I was crazy. The facility it self was nice and clean.

Staff was incredibly rude, unhelpful, walked away for 20+ minutes while we were trying to pickup our reservation. Employee handling our pickup never made eye contact, just looked at the computer or away and mumbled. Likes to pickup and drop off keys took almost an hour with only a couple folks in line. Employees working the counters were very slow, unwilling to do anything. Will be taking our business elsewhere.

The 4x8 trailer was VERY dirty inside. Dirt/soil from a previous rental was covering the floor. I spent about 20 minutes vacuuming in order to be able to use it. Also, there was a quarter-sized hole in the trailer floor. It did not create a big issue and the trailer functioned fine otherwise.

The young lady that provided the customer service during rental, pick up, and drop off was great! However, the young man that yelled at me when I parked the truck in the parking space that we picked the truck up from was very unprofessional. I did not realize I needed to park it where he was yelling at me to move it to. The young lady said it was ok and that she would move it for me. He yelled, " I wouldn't!" and walked out of the store. When I walked out, I let him know that I wasn't told where to return the truck. He continued to run his mouth.

Very unorganized. Staff did not communicate with each other. I believe I spoke with three different people told them we would be there on a specific day at a specific time, and when I arrived at that exact time everybody was surprised saying I was supposed to be there the day prior. They had put all of our boxes away and that caused a delay. I had hired movers for a certain amount of time and we had to go over the time because of U-Haul's mistake. The only person that knew how to operate the forklift was also operating the computer, she left a gentleman in charge of had not worked the front desk one day in his life and had no idea how to input customer information. Even after we had mail and I went back to check to see if everything was OK and found out Randy none of our information was saved in the system. Everything had to be redone. Then as we were unloading our queue boxes, we got a message from U-Haul saying if we did not respond to their message, our contract would be terminated. This is while we were standing on U-Haul property! It is a broken system that needs to be replaced. Moving is stressful enough we do not need any of these extra headaches.

Every person we encountered at the Monrovia Facility was helpful and considerate. The ease of flow between hallways was good. The alarms and cameras gave added assurance that our storage would be safe until we could move it, into our home. The neighborhood corner was so helpful. I had purchased covers for moving furniture but, went off and left in another vehicle. I was able to use something from the corner. What a good idea!

The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The facility was spotless. The vans, trucks and trailers looked like new, and there were tons of them LOL. The storage spaces are quite clean and reasonably priced.
