A dead rodent and rodent droppings were found all over my storage unit. When i mentioned it, the staffperson swept up the dead rodent but refused to sweep the open space, then was rude and uncooperative. A claim nor an followup took place the day of the incident. Didnt get a call back. Had to call back multille times before claim was opened - amd still never received any feedback about the claim. Well they told me that they were open 7 am in the morning, when I got there it was no one to talk to , I left the truck there, I was there for one hour, I very late for work, I left the job by 11 am called and told them where I left the key he was like we can't tell which one of the van, I left my job went back there to present the key and run back to work and this lady came after me with the attitude to fight me from inside the uhaul place. She pulled coffee all on my car and me, customer service was there and they didn't care to intervene and do anything about the situation.BETSY K.

The front desk officer was not helpful at making the process smoother. The storage unit was difficult to access. It took us a long time to get in the unit and then found out the unit we were assigned to was locked… so we had to wait to be reassigned another unit which was more expensive since it was the only one available left. My original pick up did not have the vehicle ready. The location I ended up picking up from, the employee was very nice. When I dropped it off, I couldn't get the drop off app to work and didn't get any help. So I was unable to complete the process. I did not go over 30 miles, yet I was charged for more. Shortly after I moved in 6years ago there was construction done on the building and my unit was a mess had to make an insurance claim to get my unit cleaned. Lighting was no and off in my area. The South 20th Street location was easier to get to / out of with the truck than the South 12th Street location we were originally were slated to rent a vehicle out of. U-Haul switching our pickup location was a plus. I think the location is likely still understaffed. It took about 15 minutes to get in front of an agent. I suspect the wait times will reduce as more people are hired post-pandemic.Keith S.

Horrible experience. I reserved a 10x7 unit in June for a august move in. My reservation wasn't honored and the had no more 10 x7s available. After 90 minutes they gave me a 10x7 that was reserved by someone else. This unit had a uhaul lock on it for 3 weeks and they couldn't remove it. Don't know why. They don't keep bolt cutters around??? I said I shouldn't be charged rent for those 3 weeks the employee refunded my money and started over with rentinG a different unit The manager finally steps out of his office after hearing the employees struggling to fix the issues and reprimand him for refunding my money and spoke down to me as it was my problem that I didn't let him know there was a problem getting into the unit. It would have been different if they had a key to remove the lock but couldn't give access to the unit. It doesn't matter if I physically started moving stuff in 3 weeks after I rented it.. the employees didn't follow up at all to make sure it wasn't and issue. My pickup was at 9 am but the workers didn't show up until 9:10 am and did not allow customers in until shortly after. Why would you have the option to make an appointment for pick up at 9 am when you open at 9 am? I was at this location at 8:30am in anticipation the check in process would take time and I was on the road at 9 am. Wrong. Then finally I got the truck and when I walked out into the lot and inspect it I discovered a huge gash in the sidewall of the tire. This was one of the trucks that were â€œinspectedâ€ and ready to go. If I hit the slightest bump in the road that tire was exploding. Also to think this was being used by other customers and putting them at risk. At this point I am now 25 minutes late into my allotted time and behind my own schedule to get done what I had to get done. I headed back inside and one of the workers took me to the front of the line to advised the worker checking other customers in what had been found and that I needed another truck. Luckily there was another truck on the lot but they didn't know where the keys were. Another 30 minutes went by before a key was found before we were able to get on our way. I was now an hour late into my allotted time and my day. After I was finished I returned the truck and went to the front desk where the worker advised I just had to drop the key back off without any confirmation of my drop off time or anything. The day after when I was emailed my receipt I noticed I was charged for equipment that I never used or requested. The incompetence and lack of attention to detail from this location is not worth my time to get a refund due to the anticipation something else will become an issue.Daniel G.

Oh boy. No staff. At one point there was no one in the store! Line of people. People sleeping. Smelled like pot. Nbd. Didn't even bother picking up the boxes I paid for cause the line was so long I had to get going. People were visibly agitated. Store was clean tho. Van was fine. But where was the staff. I had to flag staff down in the parking lot to get my truck to turn on. No mirror on my truck. Didn't feel super safe. After leaving the customer service area, I forgot to inquire about moving the due date to the 21st of the month. So, when I called back after returning back to my house. I called U-thul, I was put on hold for a couple of minutes, and the customer service representative answered the phone. This young man had an accent voice. I said to him that I just left the customer service area with my son and I wanted to move the due date back to the 21st of the month. The guys there were EXTREMELY helpful. I apologize that I cannot remember their names, but it was the crew working the counter and preparing the trucks the morning of Sunday, Aug. 1st. GREAT GUYS -- very nice and very helpful! We took a truck one-way to Palm Beach Gardens. Truck was clean and comfortable, and ready to go when we arrived. It was a great experience and we would definitely recommend this U-Haul location (especially if you go in on a Sunday morning!)James L.

I had a confirmed reservation which he said was invalid he wouldn't help me , made me get back in line 3 times, pushed me aside to help others. Costumer service was really bad, staff members seem to have an attitude during the whole process. I called over the phone twice and the guy that answer the phone was very nasty and hung the phone after asking me if I had any questions. When I got there there was something wrong with the keypad to pay with my card and he kept saying my card probably didn't have any funds. I made a reservation 2 weeks ahead of time for a 24/7 truck share that would allow me to pick the truck up when I needed it. 16 hours before the pick up time the location called and informed me they did not have 24/7 truck share and that I wouldn't be able to get the teuck until 3 hours later when they opened up. I was also informed that it was too late to get the truck from another location that DID have truck share because all those trucks were already booked and there was no time to move my truck to a location that would allow me to get it at 6AM. We started our day 3 hours late. After getting the truck I recieved an email telling me it was due back at 7PM despite requesting it for 24 hours over two weeks ago. So I got the truck 3 hours late and was expected to return it 11 hours early. Also, when returning my requested 24 hour rental 10 hours after I got it, the uhaul app continuosly failed to let me upload a picture of my gas an odometer. I would blame this on my phones camera if there weren't 4 other customers all failing to use the return app, at the same time, all standing in front of the key drop. The levels of failure happened at the store, company AND app levels. Almost everything about this experience was a disapointment except for the truck itself which was....fine? It was old and beat up but it drove and held the stuff we put in it so I suppose I have no complaints there.STEWART P.

Took 15 minutes to check in even though I had already pre-checked in on my mobile phone. Then, had to wait another hour for staff to attach a mall mount to the trailer hitch and hook up the trailer. I was an hour late leaving the location but my reservation was not extended accordingly. When I returned the equipment, there was a sign that said â€œwait with your equipment and staff will assist youâ€ but nobody showed up. No one ever wore masks when I was in the office, or they put them on as I walked in. I moved all of my items out the day my next payment was due, but they would not let me end my lease because I didn't provide 24 hour notice. I understand that those are their terms, but they were able to end my lease and chose not to so they could acquire another month's rent. I confirmed this with corporate. Also, I had to come back from over an hour away to remove the lock a month later. This is the only location i will never go to ever again. My friends and family will all be told to stay away from here. I was disrespected over and over again. And so was my father who went to speak on my behalf. They made me pay for my 1st month of storage. After they lied to me and said that that location doesn't do that. The staff were always excellent and professional. Had easy access to the storage unit. However, it was also easy access for rodents and many of our things had mice droppings on them. That issue would really make me consider using a storage unit again.David D. | Overall Experience
