Worst uhaul experience I have ever had. 2 hours to get a trailer. 5 associates working, only 2 knew how to do anything, so every customer had to wait for the two to help. No system of prioritizing who was next, just back and forth between waiting customers helping whoever pushed to the front. My trailer wasn't available, no solution offered until I went into yard and found 2 equivalent options and then had to wait while they figured out how to move my reservation, hook me up and check me out. Tail lights on trailer never worked but I didn't notice until it got dark so I drove 2 hours without lights, just brakes and blinkers worked. Kid who tried to help me was nice, but had no idea how to do ANYTHING. He had no help, no management to support him, and I paid the price of 2 hours for a simple trailer rental that should have taken 10 minutes.TIMOTHY J.

Worked well for what I needed. I unloaded ink es for storage and then loaded them again for a move. U-Haul box location isn't convenient for the storage area, but I'm not sure how common it is to unload the crates into a regular storage unit. Seems like there should be a way to make this process more convenient for the customer. I realize it's a warehouse, and mice are common but my belongings had mouse feces and urine all over it. We had to reschedule to rent from this location in Philadelphia after we had serious problems with the Wildwood NJ location. We were originally scheduled to rent from Ed's Citgo in Wildwood. Ed was the most miserable, disrespectful, incompetent, angry individual we have ever dealt with. Really quite shocking. You should not be letting Ed represent U-Haul.Joseph P.

First your software to initiate the rental is terrible. Impossible to use on iPhone or desktop. I had to cancel my first attempt because the software added extra stuff (the old prechecked items trick) and there was no way to modify the contract. Finally called a person who was helpful and guaranteed a location which was of course changed to a more inconvenient one. The employee at U-Haul was incompetent with attitude. Spacey forgot to give me the key. Return was equally bad. Forced to use the after hours return app even though I returned the truck a 3 pm. U-Haul needs to do a better job about notifying customers that their pick-up location can change last-minute. We unexpectedly had to drive 35 minutes to a location to pick up (and drop off) different than what our initial booking indicated. Didn't receive any sort of update regarding the change - I just noticed it changed when it came time to check in the night before. Very frustrating.SARAH W.
I must say that this was the worst experience renting a U-haul, from start to finish. First time ever getting from this location and I would not use them again. 1 person working, this is no reflection on the gentlemen behind the counter, he did very well under pressure with people getting tired of waiting. I think this is on the Manager or U-Haul themselves, they should know how many rentals they have and staff accordingly. It took us almost an hour to get through the process, that needs to be reworked. Not everyone has a smart phone and having to walk all around the truck and take pictures, is crazy. I do understand why that is but a little harder for us people are not great with electronics. Brining the van back someone told us they we had to do it via a text, which I never got after waiting more than 10 minutes, I just left the key and left.William M.

A dead rodent and rodent droppings were found all over my storage unit. When i mentioned it, the staffperson swept up the dead rodent but refused to sweep the open space, then was rude and uncooperative. A claim nor an followup took place the day of the incident. Didnt get a call back. Had to call back multille times before claim was opened - amd still never received any feedback about the claim. Well they told me that they were open 7 am in the morning, when I got there it was no one to talk to , I left the truck there, I was there for one hour, I very late for work, I left the job by 11 am called and told them where I left the key he was like we can't tell which one of the van, I left my job went back there to present the key and run back to work and this lady came after me with the attitude to fight me from inside the uhaul place. It took us a long time to get in the unit and then found out the unit we were assigned to was locked… so we had to wait to be reassigned another unit which was more expensive since it was the only one available left. The South 20th Street location was easier to get to / out of with the truck than the South 12th Street location we were originally were slated to rent a vehicle out of. U-Haul switching our pickup location was a plus. I think the location is likely still understaffed. It took about 15 minutes to get in front of an agent. Horrible experience. I reserved a 10x7 unit in June for a august move in. My reservation wasn't honored and the had no more 10 x7s available. After 90 minutes they gave me a 10x7 that was reserved by someone else. This unit had a uhaul lock on it for 3 weeks and they couldn't remove it. Don't know why. They don't keep bolt cutters around??? I said I shouldn't be charged rent for those 3 weeks the employee refunded my money and started over with rentinG a different unit The manager finally steps out of his office after hearing the employees struggling to fix the issues and reprimand him for refunding my money and spoke down to me as it was my problem that I didn't let him know there was a problem getting into the unit. It would have been different if they had a key to remove the lock but couldn't give access to the unit. It doesn't matter if I physically started moving stuff in 3 weeks after I rented it.. the employees didn't follow up at all to make sure it wasn't and issue. After leaving the customer service area, I forgot to inquire about moving the due date to the 21st of the month. So, when I called back after returning back to my house. I called U-thul, I was put on hold for a couple of minutes, and the customer service representative answered the phone. This young man had an accent voice. I said to him that I just left the customer service area with my son and I wanted to move the due date back to the 21st of the month.
