The whole process was a disaster. First, I reserved a 15' truck about a week before. I reserved it for Saturday morning at 8am because people were helping me and were only available on a Saturday. The night before at approximately 9pm I received a text message saying I could pick the truck up at ANOTHER location at 6:30 pm, wasting my entire Saturday. This was upsetting since I had received a confirmation text citing the original location and time. I was not able to talk to anyone on the phone as the voice mail said to call during regular business hours. So, I was forced to go to a highly inconvenient location Saturday night. When I arrived, the attendant would not let me pick up the truck saying that I had to have proof of my residence, despite the fact that I had reserved the truck with a credit card and presented my driver' license. This was totally ridiculous. Nevertheless, i drove all the way home and retrieved copies of my electric bill, phone bill and real estate tax receipt. I returned to the store only to be told that a mistake had been made and my documentation was unnecessary after all, therefore wasting another hour of my time. To make matters worse, the manager then told me he only had a 10' truck. I pointed out that I had reserved a 15' truck a week prior, had received a confirmation and that this was unacceptable. At that point the manager suddenly found a 20' truck that he would rent to me. If I had to run a business like the way I was treated, I would go bankrupt within a week. I would never recommend using U-Haul ever again. It was a terrible experience. PLEASE DO NOT EVER ATTEMPT TO RENT A TRUCK FROM U-HAUL.ALLEN B.

I really appreciate Ted and the staff for allowing me to keep my belongings safe and secure for the duration of the storage unit contract. Unfortunately, life and its circumstances can sometimes cause major challenges and I had to retrieve my belongings in order to save money. Our storage experience was pleasant. I give the staff the highest possible rating and would definitely use the storage services again. Although I had a terrible experience PRIOR to getting the storage facility (someone at U-Haul corporate lied to me about my space rental which caused me to incur late charges using the truck and the space was not available at 3 different facilities. It was horrible and led to more cost for our Ministry. You all gave us a $50 credit. But what good was that when we incurred considerable more expense driving across town trying to search for another storage room? I booked your largest room but when I got to the Winchester location, they said U-Haul corporate have "booked over" their local booking and caused this fiasco. They had NO storage space at all and we had a 15 foot UHaul truck full of furniture. Nightmare! But, we called around until we found the Watkins location in North Memphis (no thanks to U-Haul corporate). They sold us 2 rooms and we were able to finally unload the truck after an "all day" horrific experience. We ended up paying for an all day truck that should have been only a 4-hour rental). But, I credit the U-Haul at 2722 Watkins with saving the day! We were thoroughly impressed with them and will definitely use them and tell everyone else to use them again. Mrs. Elaine Y. I had a rental reserved for a 26â€ truck and was called at the time of pickup to state that they didn't have one at the location I selected and that I needed to go to this new location to get it. I went to this new location and was told that my reservation had been changed to a 20â€ foot truck instead because that's all they had. Upon arrival at new location I waited over 45 minutes to get assistance. I was on the phone with customer service and after 45 minutes the man who was supposed to be working decided to come back to work with his kid. I returned the truck a day early and went back to put the right amount of gas in, but I'm still being charged for an extra day and a fuel charge. This is unacceptable service and I will not be using Uhaul againSandra F.

When I got to U-Haul, I learned they not only did not have the the size truck I reserved almost a month in advice, but they had none of the equipment I needed to help with my move. Also the man that was running the counter that day had a nasty attitude when I asked what was the point in making the reservation if U-HAUL still didn't have it available for me? His response was THAT'S HOW PEOPLE DO....The smaller truck I ended up with had Two low tires one on the front and one one the back...this was by far THE WORST experience I've ever had with U-HaulJennifer G.

We were extremely pleased with the Watkins location!! It is a much nicer and higher quality location than the others we have used. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The only issue we had was the original pick up place was much much closer to our home and storage unit, but the truck we reserved was not returned by the renters the day before, (we were notified 2 hours before pick up time) so we were sent almost 40 miles out of our way total, which meant we were charged the additional mileage.Heather C.

I rented a car trailer and hooked it up to a Penske truck. The lot attendant had me back it up into a space. Rental agreements with uhaul and Penske state to not back it up. It took several tries to back it up without hitting anything.SHAWN H.

We accidentally rented the wrong size truck and needed a bigger one she did look for 1 but told us that there wasn't 1 available in the state As it was a holiday. We rented the truck because we were in desperate need of moving After arriving at home we found out that there was a larger truck available only only a few miles from where we were moving to. The truck I rented the door wouldn't let down. It was frustrating. I tried calling the location I rented from but I was deviated to main number. Then the automatic system said that my expected wait time was over 30mins which noone came to the phone. I had to get back in my car and drive back to the uhaul location. The employee did follow me home to help the situation. It was rectified but after dropping off my first load the same issue. I had to call to extend my rental due to having faulty truck. The workers had an issue with the amount of gas in the truck compared to something they had in the computer. Even though we used the ap and had had the paper from when we took the truck. The worker would not listen to me. He just kept saying you were supposed to verify it in the ap. I said I did and even took pictures. He said well it would show it here. Then he looked again and I had the correct amount of gas according to what was in it when I received the truck. But that didn't match somewhere else in their system. The workers need to LISTEN to the customer before just assuming we are wrong, or didn't do things correctly.AMBER B.

Easy process, convenient. I've rented uhaul many of times of the past 30 years. I've had some not so good experiences. Each location is different and it's always the employees and the store managers that make the difference. Walls were dingy and had water damage, the floors were about rotted out, and it has a really bed odor so now my things have a stench. The first unit we rented the guy needed my husband to cut the lock for him only to find it full of trash and broken glass so had to take a different unit. This is a very run down location. The unit we rented was locked and the customer service rep only had a hammer and screwdriver to remove the lock so we used our own power tool to cut it for him. When opening the unit someone had left trash and broken glass all inside of it so I requested a different unit. The next unit was ok but the floors are rotting out and the walls show water damage. I'm pretty sure there are roaches too. We are using the unit to store bicycles and a few large containers we travel with but definitely cant wait to get our things out of there!!
