I needed a storage unit due to flood damage at my primary residence following Helene. The entire staff were kind, supportive and very helpful in getting me into a storage unit. I am grateful for their care throughout my storage unit needs.

The entire experience of renting at this location was a nightmare from start to finish.

It was not until 5:30pm (after hours), that I found out the key card was useless without the gate access code! I learned this on the date I planned to head out of town and needed to store items before leaving or it could impede my ability to travel (I am military and just moved to town and was temporarily living in a hotel, until I found a house. I had to rent another storage building online to store my things, so I could head out of town (complete waste of money). Of course I called every after hours number in an attempt to gain access to my storage building, but had no luck. I even email the manager and have yet to get a response (3 weeks after). I will never do business with them again.

Since the turn over, my 24hr card only works at certain times while others the key pad says that the site is closed. I was paying for the 24hr access because I work nights and I'm not trying to jack up my sleep every time I need something. I head back out the door for another deployment in January and was trying to get some gear out and pack stuff I wouldn't need. I called the GM number listed on the storage keypad/sign and didn't get an answer. Left a message. I never received a call back so I called again the next afternoon with no answer, another voicemail.. Still no call back. *** I pulled all my stuff out of this place and moved it to a different place *** I called the new oversite uhaul on Gandy talked to someone there and told them I want his boss to call me and I was told a couple days. It's now been a week and I haven't heard anything.

Ulisis VThe reason I would NOT recommend this facility and the reason I gave your an overall rating of poor is this....we paid our rent each month from the 27th to the 27th of the next month. Our October rent was automatically debited from our account on Oct. 27th and we moved out on Oct. 31st (5 days later). We have been told that because rent had already been paid there would be no refund of the remainder of the month we paid for and didn't use. This is a scam and is very unfair. You have rent for a large portion of the month we aren't using and you will, no doubt, re-rent the unit for double rent!! Very bad practice. I will NOT recommend you to anyone else and will, in fact, make sure people know about this usurious practice!

As the UHAUL person in Tampa said, "this should have never gone out like this. There must have been a short in the wiring going through the tubular frame which cause the tail lights to go on and off while driving at night. I had to pull the vehicle off, wait till morning and have another person follow me to Tampa and then follow me to the dropoff per UHAUL reference number 1741802, since Uhaul would not pick up the defective dolly.. The person at the drop off in Tampa was extremely helpful, especially after seeing the

DANIEL M | Overall ExperienceMake sure the uhaul is in working condition and have enough staff members to fix the problem, the truck had a dead battery and I had to go and purchase the battery and help install it! Pickup was at 9 am and we did not leave until almost noon and had to reschedule my movers for a later time as they were supposed to be at my home at 10:30am. Just an all around mess.

So now you have move gas and more money on miles even though YOU miscalculated the milage. I went from the uhaul to old house straight to new house then to uhaul facility. You guys always try to get the last dollar from people just trying to move.

BENJAMIN MI was running behind and got a voicemail saying that they were going to give my reservation to someone else calling looking for one if I didn't call back within 15 minutes. However, the lady was very nice when I got there. As she was doing paperwork the lady who they were trying to give my reservation to showed up and her response to the other lady was "she beat you to it." It was very uncomfortable. When I got to the car the seat position handle was broken and being 5'2 I could not reach the pedal. I had to sit on the edge of the seat and was unable to wear a seatbelt. The lady working tried to fix it and could not so I took off as is hoping the movers waiting for me could fix it. They couldn't. I am five months pregnant and had to drive a uhaul truck with no seatbelt. When I returned and told the lady that I was unable to get it moved forward, her response was "well the only thing I can do for you is give you a free storage unit." I thought that was pretty ridiculous considering we had a conversation upon pickup stating that I was moving all of my stuff out of my storage unit and that I was happy to finally get everything out into my apartment. There was also a problem with the air conditioning and she had mentioned that previous renters had mentioned something about it not working as well. Pretty horrible customer service I'd have to say.

Brodale ZI would have given an Excellent rating, but they messed up. The main person running the place was very professional, nice, and did a great job. The person that processed my return was nice, but she didn't seem to care about the problem I'm reporting here. The day I picked up the truck, I called and asked what was the latest time I could return the truck that same day. The employee quickly said 'we close at 5'. I asked if there was an overnight return option, she sounded annoyed and said 'we close at 5'. So I got up early to return the truck the next day out of my way, and I see 24/7 return signs posted right by the drop off area. How did the employee not see or know that when she works there daily? She sounded annoyed on the phone, and I am annoyed that her ignorance or lack of interest in her job made me waste 2 MORE hours moving. I will go to the Gandy Uhaul store next time because of this.
