Via the U-Haul Internet Webpage, I scheduled installation of a towing hitch for my Honda CRV for a Wednesday morning, 7:30 am. I was told at the time of scheduling this installation that the installation time is approx 1 hour. I delivered my car to U-Haul at scheduled time. Installation wasn't completed until after 10 am. The installation technician told me U-Haul never begins hitch installations before 8:30-9 am. U-Haul needs to update their web scheduler system to accurately reflect the available times for hitch installation.

Customer service was great! Super convenient location for most of the area. Truck was in pretty bad condition though. I know people are pretty rough on these things, but the door handle fell off during pick up, and windshield was so covered in bugs I had to clean it at the gas station across the street before driving home.

I experienced a breakdown of the equipment that left me stranded on the interstate tor about 4 hours. The repair guy was awesome, he made a temporary repair that got me back on the road. The customer service agent requires to much information to identify the truck and the problem. Is there a policy that compensates renters for lost time due to equipment failure.

When I called to reserve a 26ft. truck I was asked if I was renting for 8 hours and I said "no", I needed it for at least 24 maybe 48 hours. When I arrived to pick the truck up at 1 pm I was told that I had to have the truck back by 7 am the following day. I was livid and called customer service who gave me to another division. None of these people were at all cooperative. I had been told by the 2 men at the depot that I could just make 2 trips or rent 2 20ft. trucks. I asked them as well as the person on the phone if they were going to comp that for me and was told "no". I asked the men at the depot, one of them named Josh Gardner, if there was no way they could get another 26 ft. truck brought in from Gulfport or any location in New Orleans to accommodate the Monday morning reservation for someone else and, without either the people in the depot or the woman on the phone even taking the time to look, I was given an emphatic NO. One of the men at the depot was Josh Gardner who sat behind the desk barely talking and seeming to be stoned acting. He had dark glasses on even inside and a knit cap in the summertime though that could have been to cover something up. The woman on the phone verified that Josh had been the one to take the order and when I confronted him on this he just continued to sit there ignoring me. Because all of the Penske and Budget rental locations in Slidell were closed on Sunday, I was forced to take the 20 ft. truck and was told , "you can keep that one as long as you want, it's only 6 ft. difference."Perhaps they don't know how to figure cubic ft, but, that is a lot of space. I had 2 20 ft. warehouses that had to be emptied before Monday morning and when I had emptied them, the truck was too full to load all of my belongings. I had to make several trips with my car trying to take the smaller things, 60 miles round trip. Because I was delayed like this the C can that was to be delivered to my new residence could not be delivered until Wed. which meant I had to keep the truck for 2 more days. On Wed. the can was delivered in the pouring down rain and we spent the rest of the evening unloading the truck in the rain with all of my belongings as well as myself and the people helping me getting soaking wet. I have never encountered the lack of customer care that U Haul showed, both at the depot and on the phone. I have tried several times to call the corporate office but I get nothing but a recording saying I have to wait 10 to 15 min. and I am at the same place I was last Sunday. I know that one of the other locations would have had a 26 ft. truck to bring in, I was renting on a Sunday and I am certain someone would have had one available for Monday, however, no one even felt like making the effort. I record all of my calls and I have who I now know is Josh Gardner on recording where I tell him that I need it for at least 24 hours. We have rented from U Haul many, many times and I can guarantee that we will never go U Haul again

Only reason I wouldn’t recommend any longer Uhaul is that if some one doesn’t use stay the full month of their store age rent they should get what money that they would not be in it

I rented my truck in Mandeville la. Unfortunately someone dropped the ball and no truck was available for date ordered. My husband and I had to drive 39 minutes each way to pick up a truck on a Saturday which completely messed up drop off date ! Pathetic service at Girod street Mandeville location

The syrup and delivery of the container to the loading location was extremely smooth. Jennifer and Rich at the MD location where the container came from were AMAZING to work with. However, the dates and times after the container shipped were off and no one called to tell us. Scheduling to retrieve our shipment from the Slidell location took an act of Congress, I had to keep calling back and then found out their phone and computer systems were glitching so the phones calls were not going through. No one informed me that 24 notice is needed for me to get my shipment. All in all the pickup was uneventful, however, could have been a bit more organized.

I am a female, I rented an appliance dolly. One male did my contract and collected the amount due while the other male got the dolly from the back and cleaned it. Neither one of them offered to put it in my truck for me. I had to lift it by myself into my truck.

Amy was the cashier that handle my order, I made a online reservation at 8am for 9:30am the email said see you at 9:30. I get to the store she said the truck isn’t there I asked for a different truck she did the paperwork for the truck grab a key the guy came inside took the key from here he said did you guys find this truck Amy said oh no just grab another key I don’t care which one. We come back and it’s the wrong truck My time was wasted standing in there and Amy trying to put the blame on someone else when she was careless telling him to just grab any key and not redoing the paperwork

I feel that I was "Nickel'd and Dime'd" by UHAUL, I returned the truck shortly after the time for one day and got charged for 2 days, I was not told this upon rental. THIS WAS A SURPRISE, If you had hourly rate up to about 4 hours it would be a GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

It smelled of cigarettes in the actual building. Everyone was very pleasant, but the building smelled awful, like they had been smoking.

1. Online pickup didnt work. Took 20 minutes to pick up vehicle. 2. Inside windshield was filthy. 3. I drove vehicle for 19 miles. Put $4 in gas - chart estimated I needed 1.5 gallons. Returned vehicle and was charged another $4.88 for gas. Almost 3 gallons of gas to drive 19 miles in a pick up truck? I don't think so. If you're going to be that nit-picky, then have a better way for customer to gauge fuel consumption.

Equipment is never available. I had to rent a 26ft truck when all I needed was a pickup. I was assured the pick-up I needed would be in the following morning at 10. I brought the 26 footer back at 8:30 parked it and walked to my nearby event. Informed the manager it was back and I would be back for the pickup at 10. No truck at 10 matter a fact it was almost 11. They charged me 2 days on the first truck!!!! Tried to fix the matter still unresolved!!!! I've tried numerous times at this location but no more??

We were extremely disappointed to see one price on line and be charged a higher price when we rented. Customer service offered no solution. It was a difference of about $40 more than the price quote on line. It felt deceitful and like we were being taken advantage of. Here's what it says on line for our pick up and drop off locations: 5' x 8' Cargo Trailer Inside dimensions: 8' x 4'8" x 5'4" (LxWxH) Door opening: 4'0" x 4'10" (WxH) Rate $187.00 We were charged $232. And yet no one seems to be able to find this on line - it is clearly displayed on your website.

Need to check functionality of loading ramps. After pickup, I discovered that the loading ramp of the truck was damaged and would not retract properly. This necessitated a U-Haul technician's visit to my truck out in town, and lost time in departing on my move.

I liked the idea of a fuel chart to let you know how much gas to put in the tank before returning, but I feel it would be better and easier to just have each trucks tank full from the get go and have the customer fill up when returning, that way there would be no guessing. Other wise everything was great!!
