I reserved a 5x8 trailer and confirmed the reservation the night before. When I showed up I was told have to take a 4x6 one. There was a 5x8 onsite was told could only be used for local use. If I was told a day before could havd picked up the right trailer between Vancouver to Kelowna but instead I received no notice. I had to make a extra trip to Kelowna to move the rest of the stuff. Overall fantastic experience. An employee was quick to come out and help the customer in front and then us. The employee was really friendly. Only complaint is that the signage could be bigger. We arrived from the East side and couldn't see any signage about where to go to drop off the vehicle, but found it after driving through the lot. I received a trailer hitch install for my car at U-Haul. My experience was fantastic. The enthusiasm and interest that Jack showed for my unique hitch installation requirements made the process smooth and enjoyable. It was not an easy return and it should have been. I don't know why, but there was some confusion about kilometres and gas level. Apparently they made a change of vehicles. The trailer was damaged yet the pictures you show of it's condition make it look new. It had three issues and makes me wonder if I had not reported them if you would have tried to bill me for the damages. Why not update the photos of the unit to its real time present condition. Customers should not have to point out preexisting damages to your equipment, it should be the other way around. The staff was great at this place though.Michael B.

did not have the equipment that I had reserved almost a month earlier. They expected me to travel to Kamloops to pick up equipment. Had to re-book from a one way to a return trip with 15ft truck costing me 3 times the fuel on return trip because they had not reserved a car hauler therefore not being able to take the car on return trip saving fuel. Upon returning truck I had washed inside as well as outside and never received the $25 fee advertised in the truck for having returned it cleaner than I was given the truck.Boudewyn B.

I reserved appliances dolly which I did not get at the time of pickup. The person in the counter mentioned its first come first serve basis. What's the point of reservation then? I ended up with furniture dolly, which was not very convinient. Drop up key box had a padlock & instructions were not clear in the website or given by the person in the counter. Several things. The truck was not at the pick up location, no one reached out by the deadline or afterwards. Waited for the truck for half and hour and went directly to the larger location. No one notified me the truck had not been brought over to the proper and designated pickup area. Paid for a dolly and the dolly wasn't available. It was the booking experience that was very frustrating. Booked moving help and a truck and somehow they ended up on different days. I called in waited on hold for an hour, got redirected, which was a disconnect.Thought it was resolved on line and told me to go pick it up over 3 hours away. Went to get it sorted in person and got 2 trucks for same day. Had to do in person check in due to mistake and took over 30 minutes. Got a call later that day wondering why I was late to pick up truck. Sighâ€¦I was in the middle of my move. Very stressful.Cherry E.

Costumer service is horrible. I literally called 20 times for assistance and nobody would answer so I had to attend in person. Girl at front desk did not seem to understand my check-in, and told me I owed 3x what my online reservation was quoted as. A coworker had to help her. Then when I went to get the truck I was given the keys for, it wasn't actually out front like I was told. The gentleman out front offered to go get it, but that took almost 15 minutes. The truck had less than the required 1/2 tank of gas, the interior was dusty, and the exterior was covered in dead bugs (clearly not cleaned from the last trip it was taken on). None of these things were deal-breakersâ€¦ However, the quality control clearly isn't there at this location.Mike S.

I answered yes to #6, but I have to add that I would only recommend Uhaul storage if some major changes were made: 1. I know staff shortage is a major issue for a lot of companies right now but if there were more people working in the office it would really help with the congestion and the long wait times 2. Because uhaul isn't just a storage facility and it's main focus are renting out trucks it's causing a lot of problems meeting customer needs 3. Customers should not be able to book storage units online without at least having a staff member physically check that the unit is indeed available and empty! I paid for a unit on the ground floor and when I went there someone's lock was on my unit which was under my name and judging by the size of the door there's no way it was a 10x10. I tried to call the office using the intercom located nearby and no one answered which made me have to drive all the way back around to the office and wait in line and the time I could speak to someone and have the problem figured out I lost significant time that I needed to move out of another unit at a different facility making me and the person who had graciously offered to help rush, if I had hired movers this would have wasted their time and mine and costed me money 4. This caused a lot of frustration, especially because when I'd first come in to pay for the unit I requested to see it for myself which the employee didn't agree to do, but if they had this problem could have been prevented. Staff should be taking customers on a quick tour of the facility to show them how everything works and be able to see their unit to make sure it's available and empty and I know this is protocol because I witnessed one of your employees doing this with another customer 5. The broken garage EXIT door. Is a real safety hazard, because the only way to get in and out of the loading garage is through one door while the other one is unusable because a serious safety issue and I'm aware this isn't Uhauls fault, I was told a customer had run a truck or their vehicle into the door and was told that this happens a lot, so if that's the case then a better system needs to be put in place or there needs to be a staff member there monitoring customers moving in and out or leave the doors open during moving hours 6. Poor security system, I can't tell you how many times I was startled to death because the alarm was triggered every single time I was up in my unit working! I assume because people forget to put in their code the first time the enter and before they're about to leave. It's terribly annoying and upsetting, that alarm is not quiet! At my previous storage you had to put your code in only when you wanted to move the elevator UP to another floor or if you wanted to access the bathroom but that's it. If you entered your code in wrong the elevator simply wouldn't go anywhere, it never triggered the alarm. 6. Clearly the locks that you must purchase were never intended for the mechanism on the door because it's extremely difficult to put it on there and take it off, it should be a-lot easier, making it this hard creates more issues since people sometimes need to force it making it easier to damage or break and then no one can use the unit at all! 6. There's no manager on site. Your staff are doing the best they can but they are overworked, overwhelmed and lack training and experience which means they need a supervisor to handle any issues that arise Anyways I'm sorry if it sounds that I have nothing good to say, I'm quite happy with the price, the trolleys are very smooth and easy to maneuver and although I now don't have a ground level unit anymore and have not been issued a refund for my lock and one day this mishap costed me where I couldn't use my unit, like I was promised I do like the indoor loading zone and Uhauls general set up and I think it's possible for Uhaul to be so much better, I've been a customer for many many years, rented many moving trucks and I'd love to actually see them thrive and even consider helping them implement it.geraldine j. | First Impressions
The front desk service rep that helped us when we arrived was Vaughn. We experienced excellent customer service. It was very busy in store when arrived. From the time of arrival to the time I drove from the lot with my truck it was 50 minutes. I was told the truck wasn't there initially, "we have keys for trucks that aren't here, and trucks with no keys". After waiting an extended period of time of confusion, I was given a truck that was just returned. The cargo area was dirty, the cab area had dog hair all over the passenger seat. I have rented several times from this location over the past 4 years, and I now avoid it whenever possible. Unfortunately they were the only location that I could get a truck on this date, and once again disappointed.Daniel M.

On returning the rental again the app and process was time consuming and confusing! I was wondering around a closed facility I've never been to trying to find this bar code the app needed to confirm. What's the point in GPS location if we need to scan a code that was hard to find and not obvious at all! This whole experience and process was long, frustrating and confusing! An older individual would be totally lost. Time is money and customer service is everything. You will never have any of my business or anyone I know. I had no time to change as the computer was down and took a long time to get truck and then it was buried when I went all the way around to get. The young gentleman who helped me was wonderful. Explained everything and didn't rush thru but very timely. Much appreciated. My only concern is he was limping badly as he hurt from an accident boarding to work, a car ran him off the road and he crashed into a tree. No communication what so ever. Gave key to the truck and we couldn't find it. Guy went and looked couldn't find it either grabbed other keys and walked around without communicating what they were doing and finally pulled up with another truck no explanation. The GM at this store seems to really not do his job very well. I rarely leave bad reviews but this is just unacceptable. I had to let them know multiple times that my unit is no longer being occupied by anyone. One time I came in, I said I no longer will be occupying my unit by the 23rd, and all I got was a knod and "we gotcha" he barely did anything on the computer. I trusted them but nobody did anything. I kept getting notifications about my rent being overdue. But finally after I contacted uhaul themselves, it finally says I've "left" my unit. I pre-ordered a storage unit. Showed up today after booking for it to see nothing was actually set up. Gave us a number for one and then went to it to see someone else has already taken it. Drove back and told them all the ones that were available and they said they don't exist in our system. I asked the guy to come with us he just sat there did and said nothing. he proceeded to tell me I have to take a bigger unit and pay for it because they don't have anything else. He said this is company police. A few hours later I get an email saying thank for renting a unit and it's the wrong number unit. So I will be calling shortly to get that fixed. As a 9-5 worker i would almost never be able to have time to eat after work then access the facility. Representative did not tell us we only had 30 minutes to move into the unit. When we found out after we paid the $25 upgrade fee to a bigger unit, we asked to keep the smaller unit and come back another day to make the move when there was ample time. He said he was unable to reverse it and he would give us until Tuesday. We tried to rush to get the first load to the new unit until we got to it and it reeked of beer and mold and was all wet. We asked once again to keep the smaller unit as this one was unfit. He then reversed the new unit but did not return the $25 fee which I was charged 3 times for on my statement.Kyla W. | First Impressions

The paper I was given, along with my online account both said that the access was until 10pm. We arrived at 10 min to 7 one night and were told you close at 7. I would suggest that you cross off the times on the paper people are given as well as have the times changed on the online accounts. Our things were in the back of our truck and trailer in the pissing rain all night and lots of things were ruined. Also I was told I had to buy one of your locks, which was fine, but you did not have any new ones so I paid for a used one. When I put the lock on with no problem however when attempting to open it the next day, it would not work. I was told that I had to hire and pay a locksmith out of my own pocket to gain access to my locker because the locker I bought from you did not work. Once I had the lock removed I went to go buy a new lock from Home Depot in the style that I was told was mandatory. When I came back to put it on, my locker was open and contents moved. I understand that I should have locked it however I had a hard time finding the type of lock. When we came back our locker was wide open. I was also not able to get my money back from the broken lock that was sold to me. I really have no time or energy to continue discussing this as it is a very stressful time. These are my mother's belongings and she is dying so I just needed to get her things in a unit.Katrina W. | First Impressions

my experience was good, however, recently the access hours were changed, I suspect due to the constant issue with homeless and some undesirables hanging out. I did have to go and ask where to enter. just a minor detail that staff need to remember to leave the lock in the unit had to go back to the front to get it. We moved to a new storage center due to the constant blocking of access to our unit by trucks and trailers that had been returned by customers and not moved. Snow clearing of walkways and stairs was poor at best. Staff does not acknowledge customers standing in front of them and are generally disgruntled and not happy to assist.
