From pick up in McAllen to Salt Lake City, the system was flawless. We were alerted before every movement and every incremental bill/payment. The pickup persons went out of the way to meet our needs. Explain the importance of locking the chains to your vehicle or a hitch lock because we had our uhaul literally taken off our truck and stolen. My son just graduated college and was moving to Oregon to start his adult life and had everything in that uhaul, over 25k worth, most importantly his college diploma, birth certificate, social, items he had since he was a child that meant more to him than anything things that are irreplaceable.. I wish I would have been advised of need to place a lock on the chains not just the door, we could have avoided this tragedy.. my baby got to his destination with only the clothes on his back, not even a blanket or bed .. it broke my heart !Cinndy P.

Poor customer service from the pickup location. Picked up the dolly and got home, only to find out the left blinker was not working. Called the pickup location to see if I could bring back and switch dollies. I was told that I needed to contact U-Haul help center. Waited for 1 hour to be told that it would be 90 minutes for the repair person would be there. Help center and repair person were very nice and helpful. I was informed by the help center that they should have taken the trailer back and given me a different one. Not happy with the pickup location as they caused by depart time delayed by four hours.ROGER S.

I specifically told the location where i picked up the uhaul i would keep it for 2 extra days. The drop of location continued to call me to see why i hadn't returned it. When i did return it, i was 3 mins shy of closing time (7pm EST) the gentleman had already closed up shop and refused to help me. Told me to do it online and follow the steps. But regardless i was already charged another day even though i got there before closing time. And they charged 2 extra days for a tow dolly when i dropped it off the very next day i got it. While the box did not arrive to us in Pharr, TX during the two hour window for drop-off, the delivery driver made up for it leaps and bounds. His name is William and he's the only driver in the Valley. He is an amazing human and was super helpful. Honestly, U-Haul has been really great to work with throughout this process. I received several confirmation calls once the U-Box order was placed which was helpful and lessened my fear that the box wouldn't show up or the order would somehow get lost. Again, William out of Harlingen is a keeper. Very kind and respectful, the man deserves a raise like big time!Kim R.

One of the customer service reps thought they explained something to me but when dealing with this same agent I discovered that I hadn't been told the information. The agent hot a little defensive and said that they had told me at an earlier visit. What I noted, that might have led to me not understand or hear what supposedly had been told me was this: the agent was soft-spoken, spoke fast, like reciting a memorized script and was wearing a mask and stood behind a large plastic screen. The 4 x8 enclosed trailer was older and had rusty areas and hinges, locking bolt and other areas of rust.PRISCILLA T.

1st truck pick up did not turn on, but was given another truck. Had to rent a second truck, last minute, truck was available,BUT felt like it didn't want to be rented to me, by the way I was told it was only available for 24 hours, that's all I needed it for. The tone was so direct and not friendly. I was very disappointed when we went to access our 4 uboxes on July 18th. I told an owner on Friday that we needed them down on Sunday at 9 am. He said no problem. We arrive at 9. Nobody had heard anything about it. It took AN HOUR for a guy to get them down & even then we had to tell him how to do it & where to put them. He was going to just make us access them from the inside of the warehouse. That would NOT HAVE WORKED. I finally said how it needed to be done. He must have had no experience on using the forklift as he was slow as molasses. Very upset as we were on a tight schedule.Ann M.

Employees are allowed to curse at customers and laugh in there face while having a serious matter (MARK) he also had his child around the whole time jumping around and playing while working. Horrible customer service. Was lied to by an employee about dropping off late rented a storage unit in the morning and told them if it was okay if I came back later and if I would be charged and they said no it was fine and I wouldn't be charged. They tried charging me over 75$ for being late when an employee told me it was fine and I didn't have to take till later. Daniel was the employee. Mark was very rude cursed at my husband and cursed at me too he said he was allowed to speak to us however he liked because my tone of voice was upsetting. I've never heard about an employee being able to curse just because I changed my tone to more serious since he kept laughing and laughing because I said I wouldn't pay the money. I also asked him to check the cameras and audio when his employee told me about it being okay and he never did. He also said we were never allowed to rent ever again mark also had a child with him the whole time he was there working age 10 years old or 12 with him in the uhaul we were turning in during working hours the child was sitting on the seat jumping around I didn't know U-Haul allows children to be brought to work and jumping around a U-Haul I was turning in what is he would've broke something in there and the blame would've been put on us. Over all not professional not once did the actual manager contact us to saying anything. He told his employee mark to just clear the uhaul because he didn't wanna deal with our â€œshitâ€. UHaul provided a horrible experience. We had a reservation in Port Isabel and arrived to find no vehicle. Had to get to Harlingen (1 hour away) to obtain a van and pay the mileage. UHaul customer support could not be worse. Disconnected numerous times. Spent hours trying to find a remedy. One should not have to call back six times to get help or answers. UHaul reps were generally unsympathetic and unskilled. Two of them hung up on us. We were kind and calm in all conversations. As a contrast, the guys at the Harlingen location were great.KEVIN S.
