The service was spectacular. The people were friendly and accommodating . As far as customer service, I rate the experience perfect. I am a little surprised the truck I received was still on the road. It's age showed very much. The fuel economy gauge didn't work and the steering was a constant struggle to name a couple of things right off the bat. I have rented plenty of U Haul trucks in my time in the military and they were all more modern and less difficult to handle. Luckily I learned to drive in a 1970s Chevy truck so I was accustomed to similar driving conditions. I honestly feel like that particular vehicle doesn't owe you guys anything at this point

I suspect the truck I used is nearing the end of useful life. The suspension seemed poor, and reacted to every bump in the road. The cargo door popped open while driving down the highway. The truck had many scratches from previous use.

Please see below email I sent to the service team: Hello U-Haul customer service team, I am writing to you to express my disappointment and frustration with a recent rental. The day before my reservation I received a phone call that the requested equipment I was to rent was not available at the desired location. Instead I would have to travel to a location 40 minutes and 29 miles away as opposed to the location three minutes and one mile away. This change on such short notice added the following expenses to my move: Miles: I was given 50 bonus miles, but that did not cover the first 58 mile round trip. Furthermore, I had to make this trip twice because I initially dropped my car off so that I could bring the truck to my apartment to pack before returning to load the car on the trailer. Had this been one mile down the road, this would not have been an issue. Overall I traveled 58 extra miles that I was not compensated for, which means an additional $58 added to my reservation. Gas: two round trips at 58 miles = 116 miles. The 15 foot truck gets about 10 mpg which means I paid for an additional 11.6 gallons of gas. At about 3 dollars a gallon that equates to $35. Time: Two round trips at an hour and twenty minutes is close to three hours. This was definitely the most frustrating part as time is valuable when someone makes a long distance relocation. I don't feel the need to quantify what my time is worth, I hope that you can relate. With the added expenses and time to my move I am still very frustrated about this whole situation and am starting to wonder why the customer is given the option to choose a pick up location when it changes so frequently (this is not the first time this has happened, but it was certainly the most inconvenient.) I will be perfectly honest with you and say that the $50 U-Haul guarantee is not going to suffice in this situation given the expenses and time constraints. I am looking to be compensated far above the usual $50 for this, otherwise I will be forced to pursue other self moving options in the future. My contract number is below. I'd rented at this facility for 2 years in a row (during the summer). When COVID hit and students were forced to leave campus I again went to this facility. We live in California so I was forced to rent the unit for 14 consecutive months because Hampton did not reopen their campus. Month after month I asked the staff if there were any discounts being offered and was always told no. In light of all of the COVID restrictions and where we live it would have been nice if there was a discount offered.

This location is always very busy but staff is always helpful and pleasant. We used U-Haul Truck Share 24/7 and website information said we could pick up without store being open. When we arrived, site stated we had to see person in the store so we got in the long line waiting until it opened. Once it did open and the line began to move, refreshing the website did finally begin the process of self-service we expected. That process is easy to do following the steps carefully. Returning was the same, just read instructions carefully. This just needs to be made clear for this location, as the key was inside the store and had to be handed to us.

My uhaul was downgraded and moved to this facility , after I had confirmed online . When I got to this facility . They didnt even have the truck I was down graded too. This caused me to take more trips, burning gas and using more miles.

Also, turn in was confusing and clear instructions should be given to customer via paperwork or text message; informing the customer step by step turn in procedures before going through that hassle.

The 20' truck that I rented, seemed to need mechanical attention in regards to regular maintenance. It seemed to struggle in performance on the highway and even with going very easy on the acceleration, maintaining lower than the speed limit, the fuel economy was not at the level expected in relation to this specific vehicle (it is understood to not expect great mpg). This location itself was a great experience as always.

When I enter to pick up my rental this morning...one of the customer service reps was talking on the phone. Instead of even acknowledging that I was right there or letting me she would be with me shortly..she carried on her conversation as if I was somehow invisible. I think greeting the customer and letting us know you will be with us shortly when you are busy would be better customer service...instead of ignoring someone until you are ready to deal with them.

We wound up going to another storage unit place because the halls for the storage facility were too small to where we coiling maneuver things into the unit. The doors for the 8x10 units are too small, large furniture would be difficult to fit in. The entrance into the units are fairly hidden so we had to ask where the entrance was. There was one or two helpful workers there that got us the help we needed. The ceiling on the inside looked like it was falling apart

The questions above do not capture the difficulty that I had with this facility. The difficulty is in the design --- narrow labyrinthine hallways, low ceilings, limited access points, lack of carts, lack of elevators or lifts to the split-level units -- which made this facility very unwelcoming. I took one look at the unit and said "forget it." Went around the corner to Extra Space Storage and got something much more acceptable.

The questions you ask above are not adequate for an accurate assessment of this facility. Although the facility was mostly clean and the staff was helpful, the set up of the facility is very poor. The limited number of access points, the narrow passageways, The small doors, the low ceiling, and the stairs required to climb make this a very undesirable storage facility. I decided immediately to go find a different facility. I would not recommend this one to anyone.

My only issue is that when the doors were changed, the new keys for the lock weren't mailed right away. I waited almost a year and then had to send a friend who lives locally to pick them up for me. The lack of communication regarding the keys was not what should have happened. Every time I called, someone who tell me that the keys haven't been mailed because they were waiting on people's updated addresses so all the keys could be mailed at once. To me, that doesn't make any sense. They could have mailed in batches. Aside from that experience, the storage experience was good.

Great facility. Only complaint is that one of the access doors never worked. I had my card replaced a couple times but it was the card reader that is messed up. The staff always helped me to get in but it was a little bit of a hassle to go to the office each time I needed in.

Renting here and paying my bill was easy. My only issue is this, lighting is needed inside the actual storage room. The hallways are well lit, but to see inside the storage room you need the light from the hallway.

The bay door was closed and we had to bring the carts through the small side door at an odd angle. There were 2 curbs to go over which made our items fall off the cart. Awkward and frustrating.
