It took a while to get my 2:15 pick up. I also called and was left on hold for 1 hour. Then when I made my reservation on the phone, I asked how much it all would be total OUT THE DOOR. She told me 42.00. When I got to the store it was 120.00. This is so miss leading and the fact that I was on hold for 1 hour is ridiculous.Letisha M.

The air was not getting cool enough and the gas gauge was different on the paper than in the vehicle but y'all were closed by the time that I noticed the difference. I could not get anyone on the phone to talk to. I just brought it back with what the paper said. Yall need better customer service. First there was only 1 person working doing multiple jobs inside and outside. Then the person didn't even go over details with renting the truck with my husband. Which caused us extra fees for dropping off. If you gone have a policy that states if you drop off and you don't self check your items in then whomever is renting the items should be aware of that when renting not get an text message way after hours and then they turn the key in box it's to late than. Then you try to talk to people about what happen they nasty and don't care and rude ass hell. Then they say the gas was not right when your paper work say different you get on the phone trying to call and you are on hold for over 30 to 45 minutes and it gets sent to the call center like what the fuck. I was charged for 12 blankets and told they were in the truck but they were not in the truck. I had to move my aunt and uncles antique wooden furniture from their home because they are now in a nursing home and it was impossible to keep them from getting scratched up with no blankets to cover them and put between the wooden furniture so I'm extremely disappointed and my son called Uhaul to request a discount and he was told NO SO IM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH UHAUL. YOU are a big enough company and your website offered me blankets and the location we dealt with told us they were in the truck and they never looked before we were told and NO BLANKETS WERE IN THE TRUCK AND I PAID FOR THEM.Christopher H.

I was very disappointed with the following items: - My online reservation was not found in the system, therefore, my reserved storage room wasn't reserved, nor available. I had paid extra for a ground floor unit. Luckily Brandy, found me another ground unit. But, it was $30 extra a month because it was a slightly bigger unit. - The loading dock to the building where my unit was located was blocked by other U-Haul parked trucks and a personal vehicle. When I called the office to rectify the situation they said "someone will be by to move the trucks. We were at the facility unloading stuff into the storage unit for easily two hours and no one ever came to move the trucks. We were pressed for time, so we proceeded to load and unload from a further point instead. I have noticed that some of my boxes appeared to have a small hole that appears as if something could have bitten through them; they weren't that way when I packed them up. When I went to drop off my auto transport trailer, I sat in their drop off lane for at least 20 minutes with no help. I went inside and there were two people behind the desk. One was sitting down and not doing anything and did not even acknowledge me. The other was helping another customer. When she was done with that customer, she then helped me and told me to â€œgo look for the guy running in and out of the office.â€ I did and could not find him. I went and sat back in my truck. I finally saw him and he was just sitting in another truck playing on his phone. I got out of the truck and approached him. He did help me at that point and was very nice and helpful at that point so credit there.Kevin G.

This location was fantastic. However it was the process leading up to getting the moving van that was ridiculous. I originally reserved a U-Haul to be picked up 1 mile away from my house. The night before I was supposed to pick-up my U-Haul, I received a text message informing me that my pickup location had been changed to one that was 80 miles away. I cancelled that reservation and made a new one with a location that was 4 miles away. I called the U-Haul service line and confirmed that I would be able to pick-up a truck in the following day. On the morning of my move, as I was driving to the U-Haul location, I received another text message saying that my reservation had again been moved to a different location. On top of that, the reservation was also moved back to by 3-4 hours. The service agent was able to get me a moving van (of a different size) for pick-up at a location about 15 miles away. The drive to and from that location cut into my mileage allowance, and I ended up getting billed for extra miles, despite the fact that it was U-Haul's fault that I went over.Matthew V.

Location and individual I completed the rental with was very nice and helpful, 0 complaints on that end of it. On the equipment end though. The whole "reservation" system is absolutely trash, show up and his system shows no trailer available even though it was all reserved a month and a half in advance. So we just did the truck contract at first. The individual renting me the truck called "Control" or something and the lady was super rude to him and basically said no trailers were available in the area and "just have them pick one up on the way to Virginia" (FROM FLORIDA, idiot must not understand how a car trailer works). Noticed there was a trailer in the lot and supposedly wasn't checked in or something so had to do a sperate contract so that's whatever. Go look at the truck, noticed the left rear inner tire was completely flat and off the wheel and that the engine light is on. Called multiple U-Haul numbers, just to wait on hold for 15-30 minutes, got transferred multiple times just to be told I need to call roadside assistance due to contract already being completed. Waited on hold with roadside for an HOUR AND TEN minutes before a really helpful lady told me there no other trucks to be able to swap into and got the tire repair dispatched (estimated time 60-120minutes). Was told to not worry about the enigne light as long as no driveabilty concerns were present. Pick up was supposed to be at 12pm, after all the waiting and stuff, picked the truck up a little before 6pm. Get the truck, steering wheel is offset to the left, truck pulls to the right, noticed a noise in the right front suspension area, and wiper blades are absolutely trash. But since there was none available, guess we take the risk and drive this garbage truck 11 hours. Truck makes it fine, but absolutely worst experience ever I've had with driving a U-Haul. Left comments indicating it needs looked at before the next person to rent it, come to find out one of my friends in Virginia just got the same truck to move to SOUTH DAKOTA, at minimum 24 hour drive. After this whole experience, horrible reservation system, and lack of care for their truck maintenance, I will not be using U-Haul for any further moves in the future.Ashton S.

The staff checking me out was slow and after waiting 20 mins for my trailer to be hooked up, I went inside and they had to go find the guy. He was sitting in a truck talking on his phone. He stayed on his phone and hooked up a trailer with a flat tire. I told him I would not be taking it. He hooked up a different trailer. Still on the phone the whole time. Hus name was Zayne. This location was helpful. My comments here are for the location that my original reservation (no.22114142) at BK Automotive and Diesel Repair was at. This place was a mess. Totally unattended and intimidating by the two guys that were actually there and the premises themselves. They had no business renting UHauls. You really should investigate the location and think about shutting it down....I would hate for someone's daughter to show up there and deal with those two...Dave B.

My reservation was for a 26 foot truck, they gave me a 15 foot truck with no notice that what I ordered wasn't available. The truck rattled horribly! I thought it would fall apart. Although there was no trash in the truck the walls and console had spills and gunk on them. I was not compensated for them not having what I ordered but just told that that was all they had and no options but to take it. location was very crowded, not enough staff to handle the amount of customers. Long line of rental returns blocked access as a customer coming in the pick up. The associate didn't help me assign a drop off location (one way rental) and left it open. THat led to a random place being assigned that was nowhere near my destiantion. And there was no after hours telephone support that could help me fix that. So I had to drive 90min out of the way to drop off at the randomly assigned location in order to avoid the threatened charge for dropping off at the wrong location. When I got to the facility I was told that I didn't have a unit for my belongings. I was very upset I had a 20 ft truck a trailer and a SUV were was I supposed to put my stuff the young lady that was helping was very overwhelmed the Uhaul Place was extremely busy so another young lady came to help me. When I was making my reservation I told the lady that I needed the biggest unit because I told her what all I had, I ended up with a unit that I couldn't fit all my belongings and ended up putting the rest of my belongings in my niece garage because by this time the office was closed so I had nowhere to put my stuff. When I turned in the Uhaul the next day I was told that I went over 14 miles well the reason for is because I had nowhere to put my belongings so I had to store them in her garage the plan was to leave the truck there at the Uhaul place needless to say I was not happy with my experience and also when we went to pick up the truck in North Carolina we were sent to the wrong address my experience was not at all the greatest. Worst customer service I've ever had. I wanted to confirm our reservation and was left on hold for an hour and a half. We made it halfway through North Carolina before getting answered. The girl on the phone was beyond rude and short about helping. We finally get there and she tells me that they're closed I ask how I can sign in online and she just repeats that they're closed and she can't help me at all. It was 7:03. I asked where I was gonna put a huge truck, moving from Florida to Virginia and she shrugged at me. The next day was no better trying to get checked in. Same girl. Same bad attitude. It's a two story storage facility with no ramps or elevators or hand trucks. The doors were wide open both times we were there, anyone could have walked in or out. My sister was able to cancel and close the account, whose name was not on the account at all, and nobody even called me to see if I wanted it closed- glad she wasn't somebody's vindictive ex or stalker! I'd rented at this facility for 2 years in a row (during the summer). When COVID hit and students were forced to leave campus I again went to this facility. We live in California so I was forced to rent the unit for 14 consecutive months because Hampton did not reopen their campus. Month after month I asked the staff if there were any discounts being offered and was always told no. In light of all of the COVID restrictions and where we live it would have been nice if there was a discount offered.cheryl r. | Overall Experience

We wound up going to another storage unit place because the halls for the storage facility were too small to where we coiling maneuver things into the unit. The doors for the 8x10 units are too small, large furniture would be difficult to fit in. The entrance into the units are fairly hidden so we had to ask where the entrance was. The questions above do not capture the difficulty that I had with this facility. The difficulty is in the design --- narrow labyrinthine hallways, low ceilings, limited access points, lack of carts, lack of elevators or lifts to the split-level units -- which made this facility very unwelcoming. I took one look at the unit and said "forget it." Went around the corner to Extra Space Storage and got something much more acceptable.David J. | Overall Experience
The questions you ask above are not adequate for an accurate assessment of this facility. Although the facility was mostly clean and the staff was helpful, the set up of the facility is very poor. The limited number of access points, the narrow passageways, The small doors, the low ceiling, and the stairs required to climb make this a very undesirable storage facility. My only issue is that when the doors were changed, the new keys for the lock weren't mailed right away. I waited almost a year and then had to send a friend who lives locally to pick them up for me. The lack of communication regarding the keys was not what should have happened. Every time I called, someone who tell me that the keys haven't been mailed because they were waiting on people's updated addresses so all the keys could be mailed at once. To me, that doesn't make any sense. They could have mailed in batches. Aside from that experience, the storage experience was good.Alexis W. | Overall Experience
