I was told by the man at the location I was able to return the trailer to another location. I called the location to let them know where I was dropping off yet and the lady on the phone said I was not able to return it anywhere else but there. I'm just glad I called because I would have been pissed off if I got charged for it. It was an inconvenience to have to take it all the way back to that location.CHELSEA S.

Booked trailer 2 days earlier (online) and received order reservation confirmation for 6.30pm as i needed the trailer at 5.30am the next day. Did not receive any communication listing any issues. Went to collect trailer on day of reservation at 6.15pm, walked in and talked with the customer assistant. As soon as I stated my name, he responded with 'oh, i have been waiting for you'. I initially thought that I was the last reservation for the day and they wanted to leave. Nope, they did not have the trailer, I was upset. The assistant acted like this was no big deal, â€˜the online system does not sync with our store', talking about having a 6 x 12 with ramp or a 5x8 utility (no ramp). I ordered a 5x8 with ramp as that is what I can tow and I needed ramp (you reserve what you need!!). They then started looking at other locations for the same sized item. I reserved form this location (10 miles from my house, drove past 2 other locations) as they had the item i needed. Also it is 6.30pm, the likelihood of getting to another location by closing is not likely. I asked, instead of waiting for a customer to walk in, until you and every other store is near closing, why would you not call? This is what was most frustrating, why would you wait until this cannot be resolved! The service assistant still not realizing (or caring) that this is an issue and just acting like this happens all the time, I was getting annoyed and short with the assistant (I had an appointment I had made days earlier at 6.30am, hence why I reserved a trailer!). The assistant then said, 'well you know you don't have to rent from us?', really that is an appropriate response when U-Haul makes a mistake. I asked for the manager, as it was 6pm understandably he was gone (no problem, he cannot always be on-site), he gave me a business card. As soon as I asked for this, the coworker followed with â€˜are you done here' to the assistant. The issue is not resolved, other than that the coworker was of no assistance (now and throughout the entire visit), he sat there on his personal phone. After a few minutes another customer entered and announced he was dropping off a bike trailer (you know the coworker on his cell, didn't notice a customer, even assist with unhooking from his vehicle). However, looking out the window I noticed that this could work from my needs (it has a ramp, but smaller), I confirmed size and asked if I could use this. Success, at this point I raised the â€˜U-Haul' confirmation guarantee, neither assistant knew anything about this, they called someone, they said to call another number (district office? Customer support?). The number they called, the person on the phone was far from impressed (phone on speaker, I could hear all). Conversation went like, â€˜The customer made a reservation 2 days ago, where is this trailer? It shows you have one, where is it, what is going on, etcâ€¦.'. She was then not happy they did not know how to do the guarantee. After this the $50 fee was credited to my card (thanks you paid me to rent a trailer from you!). Once this was completed at least the tone of the interaction had changed (from tense to now just quiet), the assistant was not helpful and we started getting the rental going. The one assistant mentioned to his coworker that he would need that trailer checked in, his co-worker kind off grunted and then just kept playing on his phone (front counter, open to all customers). After 2 more prompts the coworker finally sits his phone down reaches 6 inches to his right and picks up the device presses a couple buttons and the trailer was checked in (inspected, ???) The checkout process from that point on was as you would expect and fine. The next day I returned the trailer and the assistant who completed check-out handled the return. Transaction was as I would expect and went well. Overall the assistant who completed the check-out and check-in did what they could, they could possible have handled the situation different (same could be said for meI), but they handled it. The coworker is useless and needs to understand about paid employment and customers. Will I use U-Haul again, yes. However, unless there is no other option (other U-Haul location, Penske, budget) it will be a long time until I use U-Haul Clinton highway, KnoxvilleCRAIG G.
Not sure the rating really has to do with the location itself. More about UHaul's model and the overall experience. We ordered 3 dollies because we had to move a washer dryer, among other things. When we went in the morning, they said they had none. They didn't like call other places or look for us or even apologize. It's sort of an issue because two people (at least us) can't move a washer dryer without dollies. If we knew that they would be out, we could have changed our reservation or done a different day. Long story long â€" WE called around and found dollies to rent at another UHaul. But it's a pain to be renting these things like piecemeal from all over the city.SHEPHERD S.

I should have just got the truck for 24hrs. Would have got charged one rental fee. I did a overnight drop off thinking I was going to be done by 8pm. Picked up same day @2pm. I wasn't done until 9pm. Didn't have a ride so I dropped off after midnight and got charged an extra day. Next time I'll put 24 hrs even though I always do an after hrs.Joann C.

I had rented the Uhaul until 10 pm. I arrived at 8:30 to turn it in . They were closed, and the online return service would not work. I called customer service, got an answer, told them the problem, then was put back on hold for over 25 minutes. I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me, do I gave up. Left the key in the drop box and went home. When I got the receipt, I had been charged $20 for not using the online return. Not happy about that!KATHERINE H.

Next time tell people you're going to charge them for just holding the key. i said i didn't need the truck until sunday and was only checking in to make sure everything was good to go. The employee there could have had the decency of telling me that i would be charged for every day i had the key rather than screwing me over on the rates. i won't be using uhaul ever againGabriella Y.

They marked the wrong mileage on my rental. What should have been 12-15 miles turned out to be 99 miles. Rented it for less than 2 hours and it overcharged me close to $75RUSSELL C.
There were 3 men working, they were very competent, which frankly is not the usual case in most locations. They toke care of me as soon as was possible, making sure I knew that they saw I was needing service. Hello, I'm responding to your bill for fuel, I filled the truck up to the level that it was at when I picked it up. The problem you have is that your return area is on an angle and not level. If the truck had been parked the other direction it would have read past full. Please see the attached picture I took before I handed the keys over, note the mileage reflects the exact milage of return. I rented a 15 ft truck at $29.95 a day @ . 79 a mile. They fraudulently charged me $198.00 dollars. This not acceptable. No receipt issued, not returning my calls. They will return my call once I dispute this charge with my bank. As well I will have my attorney get my money. #thievesDean M.
The employees did not want to stop talking long enough to go and inspect the vehicle with me prior to my trip. They simply handed me the keys and told me where it was parked. Upon returning the equipment, they told me to leave the keys and they would email the receipt, again neglecting to do an inspection while I was there.TIMOTHY T.
