When I checked truck and trailer in ..I asked the lady if there would be any additional charges other than the $2,100 I paid when I picked it up. She said nope. I was worried when I arrived 15 minutes early to pick up the vehicle I had reserved - a glass door/window along the front wall had been broken just before I arrived. Our truck died when we were less than a mile from the house. When we called UHaul, the first person on the line told my husband he had a lot of work to do. Not the answer you want when you have spent 3 days loading a truck. We lost money on paid movers we hired to help unload once it was back in service. I was charged for 2 extra gallons of fuel because the guage was not on full. I missed it by a very small amount. It ruined an otherwise good experience.Stephen R.
have the key in the box next time. i arrived at 4:30am for my pickup and the key was not in the box so i had to sit and wait until 7 am to get key from employees. i initially only reserved 4 hours so by time i got the key they reminded me i only had 2 hours left i had to tell them that i should get an extra 2 1/2 hrs because i had to wait so long and didn't get the keys until 7:15 am.kamiah H.

Hire quality people who do their job & care about the customer. The two 12 year olds behind the counter at your Clinton Hwy location highly lacked Customer service and weren't properly trained. Nor does anyone answer the phone at that store. Absolutely disgusting how they treat their customers. The truck I rented was covered in mud/dirt inside & out. Take pics of everything before you drive off in it. If you call customer service (bc the store won't answer, plan to wait 45 minutes on the phone).Julie H.

I reserved a truck at a location near my home. I received a call the evening before I was supposed to pick up, that the location overbooked and I needed to get a truck from a different location. The original location was 3 miles from my home with a whole move being around 12 miles. The new location was 10 miles away and I ended up being charged for 33.5 miles, where as the original location would have been about half. I was also charged $5 each for a dolly (which wasn't even in the truck) and pads, neither of which I requested. I absolutely should not have been charged that much for a problem that was not mine.Nichole L.

There was no one working the location. Doors were open but there were no employees there. Another customer was there before me and told me no one was there after I walked in. I was not supposed to be lifting anything but I went by myself because I knew there would be someone there to help. I barely got the cargo trailer off of my ball hitch. 1) Whoever forgot to include my van rental on the contract- called me a day later to get # from van to complete the contract info. was busy during call so that became an inconvenience. 2) Did the online rental using my debit card- everything was approved/ ready for pick up - upon arrival- nothing is ready & was informed a major credit card was required along with having my picture taken for the rental ! I am not a criminal & don't appreciate being treated as such. 3) lastly- dropped off van a day early - drop box was not locked, left the van but couldn't leave key!! Another inconvenience of having to come back the next day to return key- ( box still not locked) Asked the kid working the desk why the box was not locked? His reply " uhhh I forgot & its a pain having to lock & unlock it" SO its a pain for him to do his job? Worst experience with Uhaul. Filled out all forms on line before pick up. The place I picked for my rental was closed! Called a number and was told he wouldn't be there for an hour. He sent me to another facility instead. When I arrived, they said I would have to fill out everything again because I first went to a â€˜mom and pop' operation. Then I was charged for an adapter for the electrical hook-up on my GM SUV that was as expensive as the rental! I only needed the trailer for a few hours locally, but had to buy this adapter which should have been a part of my rental. The trailer I was given was pretty old. When we loaded it, the sliding door was jammed and wouldn't close all the way. I had to improvise by putting a piece of plywood against the load and several tie down straps to hold it in! When I returned the trailer, the agent acted indifferent and told me they â€˜get like that sometime'.FRANK P.

I had a reservation for the Oak ridge hwy location. This location at the time of rental was the only location that had a 10ft truck, this location was out of my way and it took me longer than expected to get there. Once I arrived, the location had rented my truck to someone else. The clerk said she tried to call me, I called back within 1 min of the missed call and she said she had already rented it to someone else. I had to drive a long distance just to get to the location. It took me longer than expected and while I was on my she rented it to someone else. I had to have a truck to get my furniture out. I finally found a truck on Clinton Hwy but had to wait until 5pm that afternoon to get it. I had previous commitments I had to cancel so I could get the rental truck and get my furniture before they sold it to someone else.Tammy T.

Both times I entered the store I was not greeted. Whenever I finally was able to find a worker they were dressed very unprofessionally and were not knowledgeable about what I wanted to purchase/rent. When I rented the equipment I was not given the proper hook ups to have working lights on the trailer. Luckily I was doing a short in town trip. When coming back to the store to return the trailer, I was told to wait outside for somebody to come and unhook it. Waited for over 20 minutes. As I was waiting, a worker came outside to handle another customer who came in after me. Once finished, the worker proceeded to smoke and talk to somebody on the phone in the back of the lot while there was a line of people waiting for assistance in the store. After waiting, I went back inside to see what was going on and they had not assigned somebody to come out and take my trailer. The manager ended up coming out and unhooking it himself without apologizing. Please use a different Uhaul location.ABAGAIL S.

This location is claiming I damaged a vehicle that was damaged when I received it. There were incident stickers along the side from a previous incident. I did not cause this damage. Would not recommend uhaul at all. Always take pictures of the vehicle before you drive it off the lot.Jacob B.

1. Make it clear on the web site that the small trucks do not have a ramp 2. Have enough truck inventory wih ramps in stock at this location. We wasted an hour of moving time to first find that the truck we rented did not have a ramp, then finding that this location did not have a truck with a ramp we could upgrade to so we had to go to a different locationMichael G.

U-Haul is so unprofessional. You guys called me an hour before my schedule pick-up to tell me that I could not get what I had already reserved and paid for- which was a 10-foot truck. Rep girl told me I had not paid when I had and had a receipt for the prepayment. She was rude unprofessional and did not work to accommodate what U-Haul messed up to begin with. What is the point in reserving a truck weeks in advance, months in advance, prepaid just to be called an hour before and told that I have to now take a 15-foot truck that cost me over $200 in gas and I did not need it (was a total waste of my time, my money) and I will never do business with U-Haul again. I hate to tell you but there are competitors out here that do a hell of a lot of a better job than U-Haul. U-Haul needs to haul their business butts back to the basics!Erica C.

The management was in array, I understand that it is hard to find good people to manage, but U-haul should do a little better finding people to do what they say and to lead by example. I was told I would be pro-rated for the move from one storage unit to another at the same facility. That never happened, and I was basically ignored. Everything about this experience was frustrating. I was asked for a 2nd contact phone number, which I don't have because I only use a cell phone, so I gave my mother's. He then asked for an emergency contact number and had to give my stepmom's phone AND address. After he bumbled through the process, he asked me to pick a code and then said "Really?" after I gave him one. He handed me the paperwork after with no instructions. I had to ask him what my storage number was and where to go. He just pointed and I had to figure it out myself. The code I gave him also didn't work and had to go back to the office to get a temporary one since custom ones "don't work right away." I've stored stuff at other U-Haul locations and loved it... Very helpful staff and convenient equipment like rolling carts. But this place... let's just say I will only be there a month until I find better accommodations.FELICIA M. | First Impressions

The U-Haul resevation person did not reserve my storage bin like we discuussed, by me renting a trailer I qualified for one month of free storage. When I got to the drop off center in Clinton, Tn to uinload my trailer, I didn't have a resevation and the person working at the Clinton location informed me that he was not going to give me the sized storage bin that I need for free. The service provider would oly give me the sized storage bin that he thought I needed, which I explained to him was not large enough to accomadate all of my belongings, he told me that he did not care and that it was. The climate control wasn't worth the extra expense, as temps weren't well monitored-often too hot. My unit leaked during an especially heavy rain. Items mysteriously disappeared out of it & the lock would sometimes be turned backwards from the way I placed it. Since the new office & truck facility was built next door, it seemed that there were no cameras on the actual storage units, & a property next to it could have provided access over the fence due to the difference in ground levels.
