Picking up a truck that has a quarter tank of gas and is not full is incredibly frustrating. Having the desk clerk give me attitude and say “that's just how we do it” isn't a great response. The truck needs a major overhaul as it struggles with a heavy load.

My unit was broken into and all of my valuables were taken!! If y'all would spend a little money on surveillance cameras, INSIDE, then we wouldn't have these problems! Then, being that I didn't need a 10 x 10 any longer because of everything that was taken, the manager could've at least allowed me to keep that unit for the price of a 5 x 10, but instead, she forced me to cancel my trip to visit an old friend in Oklahoma, because I had to rent a trailer and haul everything to Alabama. First she tells me she had one, but luckily I decided to go and check it out beforehand and that's when I noticed there was a lock on it. So then I let her know. It's a shame that these people can't even do their job, that we have to do it for them. This location has more problems, than it's worth, that's why I decided to get out of there!

I was told in the phone, when I set up the unit, that the first month rent for my unit would be free. That Uhaul was running a special at the moment? Yet when I checked in the lady told me there was no note to indicate that the unit was free for the first month? I do not remember the name of the rep I talked to in the phone, but was a little disappointed that the free first month was note noted in the records. However, the service I received was excellent.

The internet connection is S L O W. I have 5G, but the connection in your area is ridiculously slow. It probably took me longer to rent the van on the app than it would have if I had just gone inside.

The ramps for a 26ft truck are very steep and not at the proper angle to allow easy access to the truck. This is a safety problem especially when moving large and heavy items in and out of the truck.

I was told by the person at the front when I picked up the uhaul that they only charge you for the time that you have it, so if I only needed it a couple of hours extra I wouldn't be charged for another whole day. The owner tried to charge me for a whole day with another day of dolly rental and the insurance. She ended up taking that extra day off but the sales tactic from the pickup was sleezy. The middle seat had a seatbelt but no buckle, they market as a 3 seater but one person is SOL if you're in an accident. The lock on the back of the truck didn't work and we had to go track down and buy a lock at 1 am when we were ready for bed.

Do a complete audit of this location. Replace management. I have been overcharged twice with two rentals from this location only. A team of thieves works at this location. Customers, check your credit card account after returning equipment. Most likely you'll see fraudulent charges added to your rental. Then you get to spend 45 min trying to reach customer service because you can rarely reach this location by phone. Or then you get to call your credit card company to dispute charges. I have all documents, emails, photos to prove these employees tried to steal from me twice. I'll never rent from Uhaul again. Next step, possible class action lawsuit to see if this is happening at their locations across the country.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. We ended up cancelling our order and reentering it to remove the insurance, and the employee did not make me feel like she was put-upon having to do it - she graciously handled the transaction as we needed her to. When we returned the truck, the fellow who greeted us was friendly and helpful as well. Assuming the mileage adjustment comes back correct (we drove less than expected), I give this location five stars!

Repair driver side windshield wiper motor. One to two hours into our trip, the driver side wiper stopped working…it had been raining and continued to rain the entire day!! Obviously U-Haul has no control over when something like that is going to happen. We called it in to try to get it fixed…don't think for one minute that's a quick fix…we couldn't afford to stop and wait and loose daylight driving time…obviously it wasn't pouring down rain…just an unfortunate situation.

The only thing I dislike is that paid for the month to store my things at uhaul and I decided to move all my furniture out the storage soon as I was finished I tried to go back the next day to save something I did not want and the storage was lock and I couldn’t open the gate with my key they just move to fast

Great storage facility, the only complaint would be, I was a day late on getting out of my unit and had already been billed for the next month through auto pay and was billed for a full month I was a day late due to COVID having to isolate at home. Other than that we were very pleased with people and facility.

I really liked the facility and the staff, they were very very helpful and friendly. The only thing i did not like was that the website shows the hours for access hours, however once i got there, i was told the access hours for the inside units were the hours of the office hours, i think that should be noted on the website.

I believe the rental was a little pricey for the times we are living in. So many people being forced to move into different living arrangements and having to move last minute. However, everyone was kind and the manager also helped me find a rental sooner than expected on a Saturday afternoon. The storage was convenient because I was going to look for a storage facility however my helpers said that the hallway was very narrow with not enough space for my sofas. It was extremely difficult to get my furniture into the storage. All in all, the transaction went very smooth and for that I am grateful. Gracias.

This U haul is a rip off. They charged me $10 a month for 24 hrs access but never gave me the code to get in after hours.? So they charged me for a service I never received. The staff is rude and unhelpful. don't use this place!!

When I say staff was not helpful except Randell. I rented a month ago and had a great experience, I also rented a storage at that time. I came back month later to move I find mold on my property,tables still wet.Mold fur growing on chairs.I had also noticed the climate control was to hot.I also let them know and was told no it was cool when I was back there,it was 76. I also took a pic thermostat on 78. I ask what the process I get a circled brochure followed by I don"t know. Then I say I guess I need to take pictures then they offer to take them too. I rent my U-haul that mind u blows kind of cold then stops blowing period then goes in in out so we had no ac in the middle of Texas heat. Then one reverse light was out. So moving was kinda late I came in said Im running late they said its ok . Bad weather came in and it was flooded I called in said no worries we will extend you .I thought they were being nice and then I was charged. Now I will have to call back because he charged me for 2 days and I paid first day, Never will I use this store again, most helpful there was lady with glasses and Randell the rest that I dealt with could have cared less. I ended up over charged and with a loss of furniture.

Randell was completely out of line. First off, the experience was already a little frustrating because after fully loading the truck, it wouldn't start. They sent out roadside assistance who fixed the problem and we were on our way, it just put us back a few hours after an already long morning of packing and moving. That's fine, I understand things happen and staff was helpful with getting someone out to us. But we get there and after unloading the truck it was really hard to maneuver out of the storage area ( we had a 26 ft truck and our storage room was in the very back with sharp corners and trailers and vans and cars in the way making it even harder ). I called the front desk and asked for help because I didn't want to risk any damage to the truck. They assured us we should be able to pull out easily because they do it all the time and that we had to pull it all the way to the front in order to be checked in. That may be true but I don't drive these trucks on a daily basis to know exactly how to do it. There was also a van parked there that I asked if they can move so we can at least try to back out of the area. No one moved it. So we had to pull the side mirrors in and literally squeeze through the drive way. IT TOOK FOREVER and a whole lot of going back and forth but we finally made it near the front. We come in and all the person helping me move said was there was a trailer parked in the very back that made it impossible to turn that corner. Randell responded very rudely with how he does it all the time anybody should be able to do it he kept mentioning how it wasn't his problem and was like "it's not my fault you can't drive" and was really just being very unnecessary for no reason and things escalated. I work in service industry and I know how it can be dealing with people but in this situation it was completely uncalled for and unwarranted. Idk he was like on a power trip or something it was really weird. I told the person helping me to leave because things were getting out of hand and as he was walking out Randell proceeded to follow him out the door like he was going to attack him. He only stopped following after him when I yelled I was going to call the police because if you were there you could see the way he followed him he was looking for a fight. Just don't get a unit downstairs and it's probably fine. Lesson learned for me... Whole unit of furniture and memories that had to go to the dump because of mildew, rust and rat droppings.

My experience with Clear Lake U Haul lasted about 15 years. During that time I did not have any major problems at all. There were even times when the staff would call me because I had left my unit unlocked so I could come and secure it. The unit was clean and I never noticed any issues with pests or rodents. I am very pleased with my experience and would recommend them to everyone!
