SusanJo D. | Overall ExperienceI was given a truck with ~1/8th a tank of gas which promptly warned me I had less than 50 miles of gas with just a few minutes of driving. Worrying about gas issues should be the least of my concerns on a moving day so I am not very appreciative of the bare minimum gas provided. I returned the truck with 1/4 a tank (7 gallons added) so hopefully the next customer will have a better experience.

I spoke on the phone to one who told me that by renting a truck I was eligible for a month of free storage. I rented a truck twice this month and they charged me tons in fees and mileage. I had to rent a truck twice because my old job and new job both scheduled me to work my days off and made my move a living hell. I was sleep-deprived, weak, dizzy and not doing so good. I asked for moving help and the people at this Uhaul location were extremely rude and hateful to me. They took my money and didn't refund me when I decided to go to a different location for storage because they refused to give me free storage and wanted to charge an ungodly amount. They probably charged me several additional days on the truck. And they told me they had available storage units then told me no there were none left just a few minutes later. They wasted my time and energy and money, when I had very little left. I hope I never need a moving truck again, but if I do, I will go out of my way to avoid using Uhaul. I filled that gas tank to 3/4 tank full and somehow they still keep charging me extra! Anyway, stop the false advertising and be honest. The free storage thing really made my day a lot harder and I have had to ask friends and family for money because the moving experience was so much more expensive than I thought. And I thought I planned and had enough to cover it all. Anyway if you're moving, go anywhere else but Uhaul unless you feel like being verbally abused by lazy rude assholes. They told me that they had a large storage unit but it was out of order because it had a huge hole. They said that the website inventory doesn't match the actual inventory. They also said they don't give free storage and that they don't care what the website says they charge full price. I'm just glad to be done moving and that I don't have a storage unit through that place.

john U.On my particular truck, I recommend you seriously check the brakes. Going downhill with a full load was very difficult to stop even at a slow speed. I forgot to mention this to the person that checked me out when I returned the truck because she was there all by herself and someone was waiting in line. The driver side visor needs to be replaced or fixed, it keeps falling down. The mirrors do not seem to adjust properly. They seem to only go in predetermined increments, so when you look in the mirror you either see half of the truck or none of the truck if you push it too far out. This truck may just need to retire.

Lorein B.My confirmed reservation was at a different U-Haul location (San Mateo & Montgomery). I was notified via email the day before the rental of the change in pickup location. I did not see this email. When I arrived at the San Mateo location, which is significantly more convenient than the Central location, the attendant tried to contact the Eubank location. They did not answer their phone. I needed the equipment so I went with the Central location. The attendant at Central location was solo. He did a good job given he was all alone, but being that understaffed was not ideal. Many customers, including myself, were waiting for an extended period of time to pickup and drop off equipment. Overall, U-Haul needs to provide more consistent service across your locations. I believe each location is independently owned, but this level of inconsistency is not good for the consumer.

It is utterly and absolutely disgraceful and pathetic that NM and federal taxpayers are buying drugs, food, and housing for criminals & parasites with full state blessing and encouragement as the state burns.
Cc M.I don't have any ways that this location could improve, but I do have a comment to make. I rented a dolly for my car and had a lot of trouble connecting the dolly to my car. I was helped by an employee and drove successfully to my destination with my car connected only because of that employee. ¡Gracias!

There was broken glass in the parking lot where I picked up the truck in which it made me feel unsafe to come to this location again.

Jeff E.Overall great, but Interior could have been a bit cleaner and smelled better. Like public restrooms (great examples of Communism in action), community rental trucks on average can be only as clean as the dirtiest prior renter using them. Cigarette smoke, perspiration, body odors, and pet odors are the most common issues among rentals everywhere. Quick upholstery cleaning with dilute solutions of Nature's Miracle or Simple Green and power washing the cargo bay between rentals would make all the difference: https://www.naturesmiracle.com/ https://simplegreen.com/products/ Maybe have a two-tier system with dedicated clean and dirty options with renters paying $10-20 more for the "just-cleaned" option. Due to hordes of unpunished criminals, meth addicts, & auto-thieves residing in New Mexico, it would understandably be very difficult to leave trucks ventilated overnight to prevent mildew or mold after cleaning, but fresh air is always helpful as well.

We were already packed and ready to move the very next day and had to make arrangements to go elsewhere to get a hitch installed. Once we picked up the trailer, the locking mechanism was broken and would not allow us to lock the trailer of the entire trip. Very dissatisfied.

Beatrice W.The location was fine. The lot was spacious and easy to navigate. I tried to use the U-Haul app on my smartphone, but it didn't function properly, either for pickup or return. The location staff straightened everything out with my rental.
Joseph M.I made reservations for a truck, car dolly, blankets, and a dolly a month in advance and confirmed my requirements 3 times before pick up. When I went to pick up, they did not have the blankets or dolly. Why the heck do I make reservations if they do not ensure the equipment promised is not available. Very difficult to load up a house without a dolly…. Not acceptable.
PAUL N.This truck had over 177k mile on the odometer. Not sure when these are taken off the line, but his truck should not be rented any longer, as it is unsafe. I tried to exchange this truck and was denied after several attempts in speaking with Uhaul customer service and roadside assistance, who only offered to try and find a tech to come to my location to inspect the truck, which was unacceptable. See below issues w this rental truck- -The truck headlights do not operate properly, therefore we had to stay 2 nights in a hotel during our trip from New Mexico to Wyoming. The low beams are very dim, not adjusted correctly and one of the big beams is not working at at all. Very unsafe to drive at night, -The front end shakes very bad at speeds over 40mph. This is not due to the load or lack of load in the truck, which roadside assistance told me, there are actually issues w the front end suspension and alignment. Not safe and very uncomfortable to drive. -The power steering wines and makes alot of noise when turning at low speeds and each day when warming up the truck. -The truck smokes excessively when accelerating up hills, smoking out other drivers behind you and obviously buring alot of oil. -The window seal on the drives side door is horrible. Very load at freeway speeds, especially while driving over 700 miles. -Battery is very slow to turn over each morning and sometimes after getting fuel. Battery and charging system is questionable at best. Unfortunately while we have rented from Uhaul for years, after being charged nearly 2k for this unsafe rental and no help when trying to exchange the truck, we will not rent from Uhaul every again and will never recommend any friends and family rent from Uhaul. Security, there is no fence surrounding the property, this means the property is at risk. The staff , only have good thing to say, Courteous and professional. This is near a military installation, and making good money on storage; however, it is a disappointment (because of Maintenance and security), which there's no excuse for ;because, making good money on government storage. My trailer attached had also not had not had a proper safety check and look as though had been repaired( however, door came undone at destination). I will be seeking another storage facility in ABQ, I don't feel safe and because of COVID-19 Cleanliness is a needed priority. This will create an inconvenience to me and cost me money. Because of the facility condition had no choice, but to carry insurance. I feel when a service is involved there are expectations for safety and cleanliness. .

I'd often try to pay my storage rent with $100 and seeing my rent was $95 I wouldn't think $5 in return would be huge strain but I was always treated like I was a nuisance. Items for towing, moving, storage and renting storage units are available to purchase but regardless no change. I found syringes in the elevator while visiting my unit on more than one occasion. Also my rent was going to be increased which prompted me to look at other facilities. Come to find out that I was paying much more compared to other Uhaul locations and with the increase at this location I was able to rent a bigger unit at a different location with better amenities. Other than the only Lady that works in the office the rest of the staff were unpleasant, unhelpful, rude and lazy. Never moving from in front of the computer screen or doing anything to genuinely assist customers. I'd never recommend this facility.
