I have used this location twice. Both times, when I got the final bill, they had charged me for 2 days instead of one. I had to go back into the store to get them to fix the bill. 1st I went to get my truck at the oat location and it was not available. After waiting like 45 mins for a representative, my son finally on a separate phone got a hold of some from on of the store sites. We had to travel to a different location for the tuck wich was much further from out place, costing extra for the additional mileage. The representative on the phone did not even apologize for all the problems. This delayed our move and caused us to work until midnight. I very displeased with the service. Dropped off vehicle and was relatively smooth to process. I witnessed someone stealing gas just when I got there. Called management about the news, then called authorities and waited for the police but didn't arrive over an hour. And with Enterprise, the cost was half the price with a larger vehicle. Not the store, but would like an option similar to Enterprise truck rental where they can adjust the pricing to my specific needs. I was moving from Costa Mesa to Sacramento and asked about if there were adjustments to the cost. Apparently from the representative, I was told it wasn't refundable for using the vehicle for 13 hours. Around 600 bucks with a 10' truck and traveling only about 600 miles, sans gas, is pretty ridiculous.Gary S.

When I went to the drop off the equipment, there was no uhaul at that address. I was sent to yet a third location. I did not have directions how to ride my bike back to the hotel from the changed location. I left my GPS attached to the windshield near the mirror, and called the local uhaul number an hour after I dropped off the truck, was transferred to a national line, and that person left a voicemail and sent an e-mail to the facility to say I wanted to get MY equipment back. The facility has not called me or responded to the emails.Peter B.

Don't charge them for not understanding how to use the after hours drop off, and making a mistake. Even when the customer was concerned with how the drop off went and did everything she could think of to protect U-Haul's property. But I guess the only way U-Haul really makes money is charging exorbitant fees for silly little mistakes that the customers might make not knowing what to do because they don't explain it to you when they check out and get the truck no one tells you anything when you leave with the truck on how to return it and not everybody's computer savvy and understands what the heck to do. I'm going to tell every single person I know and do all kinds of reviews online letting them know not to ever rent from U-Haul go to any other company even if it's more than $50 to rent the other truck because you're going to save on fees in the long run and it's worth it going to a different company.Kathrine C.

Both of the rental locations had outstanding employees who did a great job. However having to deal with U-Haul on the phone was very unsatisfying. First I had made a reservation for Thursday afternoon. When I went to check on the reservation before I went to the location I was told to call the main phone line. When I called them I was informed that there was no truck available but he did find a truck for me the next morning at a different location. The next morning when I call that location they did not have my reservation available. However they did have a truck that I was able to rent but they had to create a new reservation number. Then when I had rented the truck I received an email again from the U-Haul company telling me that I now had to return the car one hour away from where I was driving to and I had no other choice.When I called the phone number to understand why this is happening I was just told there was no other options and I had to return the truck an hour away from the destination I was going to. So basically I had to drive an additional hour to return the truck. U-Haul needs to get their system to function better and not be so disorganized.First I think you all should've notified me when there was no truck available. Next you could have told me before I rented the truck that I would have to return it one hour away from where I was driving to.Jeffrey M.

The pickup locations are the least of the issues Uhaul has. Why are there no questions like "what is the total amount of time you spend today, confirming your order?" Or "Was the equipment you confirmed actually available upon confirmation?", or "Does our website offer equipment that isn't available in your state?". You're only asking questions that you expect positive answers for.Eloy P.

I don't know if the staff members normally show customers physically where their storage unit is. I had to go after work, so we got there right before closing and we only got a map of the storage facility. We needed a larger storage space which was not available, so we had to get a second storage space but with no discount. The unit numbers don't seem to be in order, and when we took our things into storage we couldn't find the unit and ended up spending a half hour looking for it. This was very confusing at first. Poor customer service experience. You make the customer do all the work that employees should be doing. They used to walk out and note damage and now it comes across as lazy and taking advantage of Covid. I was told to take pics of damage. I had to take several pics nervous that I would be charged so I covered my as$ . I am already stressed and exhausted with all the moving and it's 10pm I am exhausted and the turn in process was mind numbing I regret not paying the 20.00 convenience fee: OMG 20 bucks to do what you used to offer for free when you had customer service. I could not drop the key in the box because the homeless guy was showering at the water spout with his stuff scattered all over right in front of the drop box. The other homeless guy on the bike was lurking as my car sat in the parking lot. So being surrounded by homeless people I spent 20 minutes closing out my contract in the poorly lit parking lot. Literally my fight or flight reflexes started kicking in when I pulled into the parking lot and I chose to come in Hot right up on the homeless bike guy with the hardhat and light high beams up close and personal deciding I will fight or run over a homeless guy over 20.00 just on principle. Uhaul is already screwing me today and bike guy ain't scaring me out of 20.00. Seriously: YOU OWE ME 20.00 frustration fee. You should add another 20.00 for security services I performed scaring off creepers. I'm not kidding.. look at the security cameras. It did wake me up so I didn't fall asleep on my way home after doing that stupid phone close app. BTW I am not complaining about Uhaul prices. 26 ft truck 50 miles with the optional 14.00 insurance which I chose. 116.00 total. My one and only compliment about Uhaul is the price. So I am pretty much forced to do business with you again soon moving another truck load from my Moms house so at the end of that long day I either pay a ransom fee of 20.00 or be prepared to fight homeless people. Oh yeah, I left the key under the drivers seat forcing me to communicate with the branch the next day so I would not get charged a KEY FEE he said in the voicemail. Uhaul gets more work out out of me do I get another 20.00 convenience fee? send me a 60.00 check and watch how quick I cash it. Is all the trivial YES and NO. I was a teen in the 80's when people were expected to put in work and standards were high and customer service mattered. I worked in our family pizza parlor growing up and customers are what kept the doors open and business thriving for 20+ years. I look around and see lazy people on their phones with lazy attitudes and I see businesses taking advantage of the public with self checkout lines and self check out apps. It makes you $ I get it but as an old school hard work ethics type Customer it frustrates me that i don't get an option. Lots of people I assume prefer the app. I am stating clearly I do not like being forced to use it or else $ Convenience Fee: made me grumpy but now I feel better that I vented online using my laptop and not staring at my tiny phone in a dark parking lot.TROY M.

I returned the truck and now am unable to rent trucks because I didn't give back on time. That was never told to me. Lack of communication on there part and im getting punished. We reserved our trailer for the exact same time that someone else was returning it. That's horrible planning on Uhauls part and a guarantee for delays, which is what happened. Also, I made a call and was told that the trailer would lock to our car but it turned out that wasn't true.Ben G.

Bad experience, I tried to do the online check in and save time so I don't have to go inside, But it was horrible, I did everything correct but at the end it tells me that I need to provide more documentation!!! I uploaded my driver license and everything according to the app but still didn't work and I had to go pick up stuff so I had no time. Had to go inside and wasted 22 minutes with the broken system that took forever. Pick up truck was clean but oil life was 0% . Oil must change regularly to keep the engine healthy. I rented a unit at this location for less than one month of being there and left because of the manager Kaylah Ealy. Upon moving in on June 11th I asked employees on site if I could park in a specific spot in the parking lot near storage units. I was told it was okay as long as we had a unit on the property so my fiancé Sarah and I started parking there regularly on our visits. Everything was fine until June 22 around 8 AM when an incident occurred with Kaylah. Sarah and I pulled into the usual spot we were at and Kaylah came rushing up to us as soon as we left our vehicle and started pressing us very rudely about how "we can't park there!" and "I'm the manager!". We calmly tried to explain we asked if we could park there when we moved in and the staff said "yes". We've also seen other people parking their cars in that area on occasion and it's part of the property so we thought it was okay to be there. Kaylah just kept spouting off about how she's the manager and demanded to know why we were parking there. We tried to explain we just got that new storage unit and can't park up front because Sarah is in danger being pursued by a violent stalker. We explained the limited parking up front puts her car in direct public view and if her stalker sees that he will try to physically harm her. We told her we had to leave our last facility because of escalated violence towards Sarah and property damage to our last rental facility unit. Kaylah condescendingly said "uhhhh sorry, whatever you're going through but you can't park here!". It was obvious Kaylah wasn't mentally stable, she was aggressive, was being super petty about parking, and completely disregarded our unique circumstances and Sarah's safety. Kaylah was more concerned about being correct and attempting to assert her dominance over us instead of being a professional, level headed, and understanding person. She refused to make a very reasonable exception for parking and has zero concern for people's safety on the property. We tried to peacefully work things out and be rationale while Kaylah just disrespected us unprofessionally. Since Kaylah insisted on putting Sarah in harms way and refused to cooperate, we made arrangements immediately to leave the facility . We didn't return to storage again until moving day to avoid further harassment from Kaylah as a precaution. We wanted to report her sooner but waited until after moving day to report her out of concerns she may try to retaliate against us for whistleblowing on her. The experience at this facility was highly unpleasant and we left because of Kaylah. The restrooms on the property weren't being cleaned regularly causing a problem, but we overlooked it until we were poorly treated by management. The other staff made minor mistakes like giving us a storage unit under another persons name on move in day, but were otherwise decent people. Kaylah is the only one I'm concerned about and couldn't stay at the facility knowing the manager is careless and reckless in her behavior. I actually tell people not to go to that facility and go somewhere else because of Kaylah. We tried to work it out with her but Kaylah didn't have the mental capacity to do so and we expect management to hold mature conversations without being aggressive and rude.Jonathan L. | Overall Experience
I was told I would get a $22 fuel credit if I returned the truck to the drop off location with 1/4 tank of gas. I brought it back with 1/8, the same as I received it. Which, by the way I feel is a ridiculously low amount. I bring it back with 1/8 just like I received it so I expect no refund. However, I'm informed that the discount was already taken off when I paid so I owe them $22 now! So in actuality what your reps should have said was we need you to put fuel in our trucks or we're going to charge you $22.Frank A.

I initially reserved a 5'x8' storage unit specifically so it would fit a 7' couch. Upon arrival, I was given a unit that was 5'x6'-6" and could not fit my couch. I had to explain to the staff that I was given a smaller unit than I had reserved and needed a larger one. He tried to charge me more but eventually gave me a unit at the price I was quoted. Throughout my time at the storage unit there were homeless people living in units, trash in the garage bays, and overall I was just uncomfortable there. No roof above unit, which allowed rats and bugs to get it, rat trap inside 10 x10 storage unit, bad oder, facility itself was an old dingy dirty old building, it used to be a bread making facility which brought bugs and rats, Lights didn't stay on, air conditioning was non existent, because the ceilings were wide open to old roof of the old building, air conditioning just escaped out, water stains inside the unit, we canceled our agreement with uhaul in less than thirty minutes of moving our belongings in, had to move all our stuff out and re load our truck, the uhaul tape i bought is the cheapest grade of tape, wish I could return it and buy some scotch or 3m packing tape, Extremely disappointed in uhaul Had high hopes,, but it was short livedMark C. | First Impressions

I wish I'd rented storage inits from uhaul to be begin with. I have units in a place w/very long walks down hallways & I am disabled; also w/very limited access hours. Everything is great @ uhaul...i should have known.! Kind, friendly, helpful staff, great drive-up access & good accessibility hours. They could not pull up my central reservation. Took forever for them to figure out how to renter all the information I provided over the phone to person in AZ. Took over 30 minutes while my per hour uHaul movers waited outside. Then couldn't get the access card to work. New facility so the overhead doors didn't work. The employee needs help. No less than 2 people for staffing that facility One person cannot do it all there without crazy wait times.. Note; If the equipment is to cleaned on the outside from time oi time To cut the inspection time down for damage and safety. Also the Tire air pressure Must be at least close. Well the staff in NV at pick up were nice. And the Staff @ the Arden Way facility were very nice. Now It took forever because U-hauls computers weren't excepting the input. The other problem is the price on line along with availability was dead wrong! Then asking me to drive 200miles to pick up the trailer was Not ok. Also Not telling me there is One way trailers and "local trailers" was quite the surprise Also ... Then A large one way costing 50.00 less than on line or 1800 u haul quote on line.. The young woman who assisted me was not only professional but she was extremely accommodating and thanks to her customer service abilities I will be renting an additional unit and extending my rentals longer than I had planned previously.if I had a business I definitely would recommend to my HR department to hire that young woman as my manager immediately because in my opinion she lacked nothing and took care of an intire line of people very professionally in spite of a few growing impatient and irritable. Upon returning the truck the staff made a comment about not letting them know about extending the rental for another day.
